I did C25K when I was in the mid 300s and made it up to (a slow) 5k without too much difficulty. A couple of words of advice: 1. Friction's the enemy. I always run with compression shorts now. 2. Listen to your knees. I don't run as much anymore, actually, because of my knees.

Oh who even knows. 20+ years of overeating. I will say that back in the day I could drink a case of beer and eat a large pizza. That wasn't a binge, though. That was Friday night.

I had mine out about six years ago and it didn't affect my weight. I've gained weight since, but only the recent couple of years and in no way is it related. I love having the flexibility that an extra 500 calories gives me, and I workout most days, so I try to schedule days off for those days of the week where I know the temptation won't be too much (yesterday, with its damn pizza, was a slip-up but oh well). Absolutely. These are folks who are trying to do better and even if most of them won't last, they should still be accepted and encouraged. Let's remember that we all were probably that uncomfortable-looking noob once instead of being self righteous or needlessly annoyed.

Man here. I have lots of female friends from various points in my life. My girlfriend (of five years) is 99% fine with it (she thinks one occasionally texts too often, but that's a personality thing rather than a "female friend" thing) and has nothing to worry about.
