I think the best songs combine the two (like the before mentioned "Push It") but I definately lean more on beat. Other great songs to work out to... Scorpions -- "Rock You Like a Hurricane" Pearl Jam -- "Even Flow" Micheal Jackson -- "Smooth Criminal" Boston -- "Foreplay/Long Time" Europe -- "The Final Countdown" (very…

...double post. I should really have the option of deleting my own comments. Ignore this. Sorry.

Depends on what I'm doing. For running I LOOOOVE Kashmir by Led Zeppelin. It's a long song with an unchanging beat that lets me just zone. For something intense I like "Push It" by Salt-N-Pepa. Not really my style of listening music, but it motivates me well. Weight Lifting I go with something easier since I'm not getting…

You'll find that most of these sites over-estimate your needed calories, calories burned during exercise, and the projected weight loss while under-estimating calories in food and certain needed nutrients (protein to be specific because large quantities ward off hunger). That being said, I think this site is fine as long…

Hey man, it's all about how bad you want it. There are all sorts of things in life we don't want to do, but we have to do them anyway. The difference between your work-out and...say...jury duty, is one is mandatory while the other one isn't. Think of working out like jury duty if you have to, but you HAVE to do it on the…

Lol, naw. He can take it.

If they're purposefully trying to lose weight you should definately tell them what they're eating is bad. My mother tried to lose weight for a year (I had been out of the state during this time) and apparently she was eating just like she normally did but thought walking a few miles a day would do the trick. She got…

WOW. It honestly looks like you've lost more than that. Awesome pics. You look sexy *wolf whistle* and I'm sure you feel it too ^_^

I'd be game for that, haha.

Hey, good work! Tremendous improvement ^_^

Awesome work!

Fluctuation is another reason I try not to weigh in daily. I try to keep the parameters of my weigh in as controlled as possible. I weigh in every Wednesday morning, right when I get up, before I've had water, after I've eliminated, and naked. Most of the fluctuation comes from food and water intake, and in the morning…

I used to weigh more often, but I found it was demotivating, not motivating, to see small changes as opposed to a 1-4 pound movement once a week. It really drives my workout on my two days before I weigh in as well. I know I can only get on it once a week, so I really want that number to be good. Some people like weighing…

One time I was in an airport and 3 girls legitimately thought I was Jonah Hill. It was kinda fun to play with for a moment. Yes..I used to get that all the time. It still happens occasionally, but it gets less and less with every pound I shed. Hopefully I won't get it much anymore (but I love the movie, haha).

LOL, moobs. I've never heard them referred to as such. I'm so ready to see those go...least favorite part about myself. Thanks for the comments everyone and the support. Glad y'all liked the crazy photos (they were all for various illustrations, but I'm glad they made you laugh, haha).

Great job! Can't wait to achieve my goal. It's so great to see people who have ^_^

I hate the social aspects of this site. They really need to get some better systems/programming/whatever the hell it is. It's awkward and clunky, but the idea of the site, and the diary is pretty decent.

Lol, thanks. I'll fix it and post it up again, it's stupid that I can't just delete this...I noticed immediately.

It's called protein. Watch your calories, eat healthy (not just in a calorie limit), and make sure there's plenty of protein in your meals. It curbs hunger better than anything.

I do this when i've reached a wall. I find that eating 1.5 to double my calorie limit for the day (but still eating healthy foods, just more of them) for a single day, then pulling down to 1.2 to 1.5 times for the next day, then back to normal helps push me back towards weight loss. It's an inexact science, but I find it…

Today my neighbor (who I barely know) came over to me as I was getting in my car to drive to my gym. He knocked on my window, startled me, and when I rolled down my window he said, "I thought that was you!" After a moment of talking it turns out he'd been seeing me at the gym fairly frequently, but my apperance had changed…

I'm getting pretty good at making some awesome smoothies, but I never measure anything, just kinda wing it. For my basic strawberry/banana smoothie, I'd *guess* this is what I'm putting in. 1 cup vanilla or strawberry yogurt (I use Dannon Light and Fit best volume/calorie ratio that I could find) 1 cup Skim Milk (whether…

Although the measurement of a week is highly arbitrary to your body, overtime some basic science remains in weight loss. There are 3,500 calories in a pound. When you burn 3,500 calories either through exercise or your body tapping into its reserves (your fat), you lose one pound. This doesn't always happen the same day,…

Keep it up. I can't run because I'm plagued with shin splints, but I wish I could do what you're doing. Never think you can't do more. Anyone can run a whole mile without stopping. The only thing stopping you is your mind. I've found, while biking, that I can always sprint for a few more seconds, I can always keep the same…

When you look "Okay," is up to you. However, if you want to go on medical body weight charts, that's another thing. Your idea body weight (I put in your age as 25, your real age could change these numbers slightly) is between 114 and 145 pounds. So if you look at the medical recommendation, you're at the top end of your…

Thanks, man. Yeah, I hate it when people who don't know you (and all the hard work you've done) still label you as "fat." I mean, it might be true to an extent, but friends and family see the before and after (and the continued effort) and can look well past it. Ah well, I guess it just comes as a testament to how far…

Thanks for all the encouragement. Let's make this the skinniest year yet!

I try to keep my "cheats" marginal. I've lost 85 pounds, and at first I was using my cheats pretty liberally (about once a week), but as time's gone by, and I've started getting used to the diet I've put myself on, cheating has become less of a desire. In fact, a lot of the foods I used to be tempted by disgust me now!…
