the first time I did c25k I weighed 270lbs and at the end I competed in a relay team for a marathon and ran 10 km of it. This time around I started at 250 and all is well. each week gets better as you go along and you can always repeat a week if you feel you are not ready for the next week. I am going onto week 4 and it…

If you have access to good meat, eat fatty cuts of meat. If I eat berries,I will cook then in butter and cinnamon and add them to full fat greek yogurt. Cooking in butter, coconut oil,ghee..adding olive oil to salads and veg. I know everyone always says avocados but they are not that high in fat but rather rich in taste. One…

I generally only eat fruit in season and coming from a local source.A the moment we are busy picking wild blueberries and enjoying the end of our strawberry season. In the winter if I eat anything,it's berries I have frozen. I have a sugar issue(as in I am addicted to it)and find if I eat a lot of fruit,I crave sugar.I…

I am interested in the responses to this as well. I am starting week 10 of lifting and have finally decided to jump on the higher protein band wagon. After reading New rules of lifting for women, protein seems to be the key. I will say that I have spent 10 weeks at moderate protein with no issues but as I want to build more…

epcooper,I can relate. I never thought I had dairy issues until I did a whole 30.I re-introduced it and immediately I had bloating, gas and congestion. I also have a similar issue with food being fine one day and the next day the same food will cause me issues.Avocado is one I notice the most.If I eat a whole avocado 2 days…

It can take a couple of weeks to adjust if you are coming from a high carb lifestyle. I am sure I was 10-12 days before things feeling normal and getting that true energy buzz. It will come to you. Good luck!

the only thing about your own rules for a whole 30 then it's not called a whole 30..that's the program..call it something else if you want to do it differently..the point is it's 30 days of all the rules that they want you to do for this short period of time..there is a reason and it's important to follow it to the letter.…

Ice is the key to everything! My trainer says it all the time and I agree,it works for me like a charm. I had insane soreness for the first 6 weeks to the point where I thought there was something wrong with me. I get sore now but not the same sore from the start.About a month ago I couldn't walk down the stairs for 3 days!…

Avocado will not ripen when you cut into it. Here is a tip to see if your avocado is ripe http://media-cache-ec3.pinimg.com/originals/39/71/7b/39717b6f069d13c10b8649f08ec74fd7.jpg Also, avocado is one item that does not need to be organic when you buy it and here is why…

Bone Broth is easy to make(I'm a chef and I'm sure anyone can do it) Take a roasting pan and crank your oven up nice and high.Put the pan in the oven. When it's super hot, throw in your bones and brown away. I would normally throw in some veg like onions/carrots but omit what you can't eat. After the bones have a nice bit…

In the UK you can probably find good sources of bacon at your local farmer's market. I was always able to get great quality bacon at the market in Belfast. Also, local butcher is a great choice. As there is a good supply of pork belly you could get your butcher to slice some and cure it yourself. Chris Kresser has a great…

this is a VERY good point! I did a whole 45 and fell off the wagon afterwards. I didn't have a plan in place. It's important to be prepared and listen to your body after the whole 30. Make sure to test for food sensitivities after it's over.

Glad to hear you are getting over the hard part and moving into the next phase!
