Food-like substance... That's a new one. They are not "completely nutritionally worthless". A quick glance at the nutrition label debunks that bunk pretty quickly. Children should not be taught any of the above unless the goal is to increase ignorance.

Do you have negative reactions to salt intake? Do you have a health reason as stated by a medical professional to reduce your intake? Do you have a family history that suggest you limit your salt intake? If you answered no to all of those questions, don't worry about the number. If you answered yes to any of them, consult…

Ingestion of large doses of water can cause death. Everything is a poison at the right quantities. Now go forth with this new perspective and stop being duped by the seedy side of Internet nutrition.
-
Are you here for the same reason, because you aren't or weren't happy? Broad strokes are fun! But ultimately useless.

The last sentence is a ridiculous assertion barring cases of morbid obesity. Check out documented cases of some actual child abuse (beatings, sexual abuse, locked in closets for days, etc) and then hopefully come to the realization that your comment was grossly out of line.

Didn't miss it. May influence =/= cause Would you like to try to point out something else you're worried I might have missed?

Maybe they are glad to be away from a parent who obviously doesn't have his children's best interests at heart and likes to use them as a weapon. I'd be pinging off the walls to get away from a *kitten* too.

I continue to eat all the foods. After Christmas I stocked up on reduced price Lindt and Ghirardelli chocolates. The cashier asked me what I do with them. I told him that I'll eat them. He looked at me funny and said that he'd never have guessed it.

Do you have a bad reaction to it? If no, then there is nothing wrong with you drinking it.

I read the article, even the bit about how activities surrounding special food can affect behavior. But that doesn't really apply to this topic. If you chose to stay on topic, you'll recall that they have a snack every day. This isn't special occasion food, it's routine. The sugar content of the snack is not causing…

I keep seeing the "teachers are avoiding hyperactivity" excuse in this thread a lot. Sugar does not cause hyperactivity. It's a strongly held onto old wives tale. Science says that belief is bunk. http://www.yalescientific.org/2010/09/mythbusters-does-sugar-really-make-children-hyper/ Stop blaming bad behavior on sugar.…

What was your question? Are you unsure of the definition of the word? Here you go: An unjust or unfair act; wrong.
-
Whenever I encounter something I believe is an injustice, I like to stick my head in the sand in order to prevent creating any waves too.

I'm a cheese purist. If I'm going to eat 800 calories of cheese in a day, it's going to be straight off the wheel and paired with nothing. I don't want to ruin the majesty that is cheese by muddying it up with other lesser foods. BTW, pooing is overrated anyway.
-
800 calories of cheese? It would be days before I pooped again.

Handing out crap you don't like tends to be crap kids don't like. Just turn out your light and save them wasting their time getting crappy pretzels. Let them spend time on houses worth hitting up.

Unless you have a medical condition that is exacerbated by sodium, you have zero to worry about. Like the other poster said above, you'll have some water retention but that will not affect your calorie deficit or your fat loss goals.
-
Sounds like caffeine withdrawal, not sugar withdrawal. If you have cut out coffee and soda cold turkey before with no caffeine substitute, the headaches were from that. Use unsweetened versions and you will not experience that again.

You can't tell the difference between milk chocolate and granulated sugar?
-
The ingredients aren't "far better". They are different. If I'm in my calorie goal for the day, have eaten nutritionally dease foods and have room for a nutritionally sparse food like chocolate, I don't get bonus points for eating the dark above the milk chocolate. Dark chocolate is not a super food. It's a nutritionally…

They are a source but not really a good source. They are a good source of fat. In 170 calories it contains: 6 g carbs 6 g protien 15 g fat Here's comparing it to a good source of protein like chicken: In 142 calories it contains: 0 g carbs 27 g protein 3 g fat

Life changing doesn't have to denote something catastrophic or massive. All the bolded are changes in your life. Why do I get the impression that you want to downplay the impact of your weight loss? Or maybe I'm reading t wrong.
-
I'm interested in the answer to this question.

Some people. Not all people. Some people that might feel happiness at achieving their loss might also have emotional baggage that prevents them from enjoying it. Or is that something that is impossible and has never happened? It's not a logic flaw. It's a difference of perspective. From my perspective, pride and happiness…

This. I'd also be upset with the person that informed you of him saying that. They don't care about you. They told you something that they knew was hurtful in order to sit back and enjoy all of the juicy drama they knew it would and did cause. If they did care about you, they would have confronted that person the moment…

Take another deep breath to contain your distain for my post. My last paragraph applies to your 1-5. "I guess there are some people out there that don't experience a net increase in happiness when they reach their goal." Your second paragraph is just a bunch of humble bragging and an attempt to apply my generalized…

He knew exactly what would happen. He wanted to make a documentary and knew uninformed, easily manipulated morons would be swayed by it. The overriding obvious outcome is still lost on some people who point to that documentary like its some kind of smoking gun against the fast food industry. Luckily there are people that…

I was unhappy about my obese status. I wasn't unhappy overall. I'm now happy about my weight. I am now more happy overall. I guess there are people out there who don't experience a net increase in happiness when they reach their goal. That's too bad. It's a shame to not be able to be proud of an accomplishment or to have…

It's snake oil. Don't buy it because it won't do a damn thing.
