My breaking point was when both of my parents were diagnosed with diabetes. My Sister was first to be diagnosed, then my Dad, and then my Mom. I knew that the path I was taking wasn't good for me, so I made a decision to loose the weight. And I look good!!!! And hot too!!!!!

Isn't it funny when an ex-husband/boyfriend sees you now? I laugh to myself every time my ex-husband/boyfriend see me and comment on the weight loss I've had. I think to myself, "haha sucka!"

I told her, "It's my wedding reception, shut up!"

Actually, no alcohol was a good thing! Your Dad made his choice.
-
My Mom put me through that too! "But so and so is getting you a gift!"

The worst thing that someone said to me at my wedding reception was "You were so rude." To which I replied, "Go home."

#1. Tell her that you are saving money by working out at home and that she will save money that way too! #2. Pray about the way you should tell your wife about how that makes you feel that she's putting you out like that. Do it in a kind and gentle way. The that God would have you do it. #3. It's your house too, and your…

Well, like you, I'm having surgery in a few weeks too. Jan. 14th to be exact. I'm having the roux-en-y. I say that you need to follow what your surgeon says down to the letter, and I will do the same.

Maybe it was her time.

I'm pre-op, but I use Crystal Light (sugar free, any flavor), one of those blender bottles (the ones with the little wire whisk ball @ the bottom) and blend that together with the protein. Another find that I've found to be better than the Blender Bottles is the Bariware bottles. They are just like the Blender Bottles, but…

I'm having the surgery on Jan. 14 so I haven't had it yet, but my parents have and I noticed how slowly my Mom eats. I've always eaten slowly, so maybe that won't be such a problem with me.

Awesome!!!!! My surgery is Jan. 14. I'm having the Roux-en-Y done. I am a single Mother of a 10 yr. old boy with high-functioning autism. His name is David. Are you having the sleeve, lap band, or the Roux-en-Y? How does your family feel about it? Both of my parents had the surgery done and they are behind me 100%. So is…

It tasted ok, but I also know that some of my taste buds might change too. That happened with my Dad.

Wow!!! Congradulations on having the surgery. I'm having the Roux-n-Y surgery done on Jan. 14, 2013. All I can say is remember what you were taught in class. Did you have to take classes? Kaiser requires us to take classes before we have the surgery. My parents both had the Roux-en-Y surgery done too. Dad lost over 200…

How does it taste to you?

Good, because when my parents went through Gastric Bypass, I would make them nasty tasting pureed food. So now that I will be going through it, I'll need some reciepes.
-
Thank you. I need some ideas to make the pureed food taste better because when I made it for my parents, it sucked big time.

Thank you! My parents had the surgery too and they are doing great with it. It's because of their weight loss results that I'm doing this. I've tried everything, Weight Watchers etc. Nothing worked. I know what to expect because I watched my parents, so I'm getting things ready now. I'm makeing and canning applesauce,…

Hi, I'm new here too! I'm going through Gastric Bypass (Roux-en-Y) Surgery on Jan. 14, 2013 which is perfect because it's between Christmas and my birthday (Jan, 28, early birthday present to myself). My surgeon said to join this site, so here I am. I have one question: How are you dealing with Christmas Parties? My goals…

I am going to have my surgery on Jan. 14, 2013. It's Gastric Bypass (Roux-en-Y). I'm excited, but a little trepidatious I guess. I know it'll help me and my parents have gone through the same surgery so I've got the support at home. Even my boyfriend supports me and my son too. My question is: How did the surgery effect…
