Hi, I'm dealing with that right now. After running Monday night, I could hardly walk so I did a lot of calf stretches (just google because you'll want the images). I was only holding the stretches for 15 secs but Monday I did several rounds of 30 secs. While my calves were sore yesterday, my shins were not as sore today…

I'm also wanting to buy a device, I'm going for the Rythm because it measures your pulse, which is helpful in counting calories...

I also hate running, but it's great for my cardio, easy to do and a pretty cheap alternative to anything else out there. It's also a time saver, because you can do indoors/outdoors at crazy hours. As a working mom, I need that. I'm now running a 5K three times a week, planning to get to a half marathon by the Spring.

I've done the South Beach diet in the past and worked for me... the trick is good carbs vs. bad carbs which is what SB focuses on. What I am horrible at is portions, which is why I am doing MFP now....
