  • Good luck! Does your Curves have the Jillian Michaels workouts, along with the new Body Basic and specialty classes? I am a fitness coach at Curves and our member have seen great results with those added to the circuit. :)
  • You are turning your body fat into lean muscle. Concentrate more on the way you look and feel than on the scale. :)
  • I reached my goal of 130 and am very happy. I fluctuate between 128 and 130, which is good for me.I reached my size 6 jeans goal!! I am still working on toning up my middle section, but since I started a new job in late July, I haven't gotten in as many hard workouts as I was doing but I work at Curves, a fitness club for…
  • I have kind of changed my hubby's eating habits, but he didn't have much of a choice, because I shop and cook all the meals. I use skinnytaste.com for most of my dinner recipes. He has really come around and likes what I make. To the point that when we go out, he usually orders a much lighter meal than he would have in the…
  • Congrats on quitting! If you can get motivated to work out and eat better, this site will be a huge help! I quit smoking April 2012 after smoking for over 30 years. I did not know about this site at the time, but I wish I did. If you can replace the urge to smoke with healthy snacks and exercise, you will win the battle…
  • I was looking for other people here who are also doing the S90. I bought it last year sometime and I didn't get very far because I was 30+ lbs overweight and pretty out of shape. I also didn't see any results because I was not eating right at all. After getting very close to my goal and in need of some toning, I brought…
  • I have noticed the missing ages, but other than that, the computer site is fine. My phone app is glitchy though. I couldn't get it to load to log my lunch, so I had to do it on the computer, so I couldn't scan anything.
  • I think this is true for me too. People have never thought I was heavy, even at my heaviest. But I was always used to being in the 115-125 range, so 165 was way overboard for me. I had settled into the 140s for a few years, but I was never happy there. I think 130 will be good for me.
  • I'm almost in the same boat as you. I'm 5'4 and my goal weight was originally 135 (I started at 165). I am half a pound from that goal now and am thinking I want to go to 130. People are really noticing my weight loss now (I even had someone tell me I was withering away) but I have a goal for jeans size I want to reach and…
  • I have a heart rate monitor watch, but mine was pretty inexpensive (less than $30 at WalMart). It is pretty accurate when I compare it to other readings. It takes your pulse, so the more you record it, the more accurate it will be I'm thinking.

  • I am back in my size 8s now and hope to be in the 6s at my goal! I am actually going through my closet today. Last year's shorts (when I was at my heaviest) are way too big now and so are the jeans I bought in the fall. I was so happy to try on my shorts and skorts from 2+ more summers ago that now fit!! I have a few pairs…
  • You're not alone!! That's the only time I really crave chocolate. Luckily, the rest of the month, I could care less about sweets. I try not to go crazy, but I do allow myself a little treat here and there. Try to drink more water when you do that and log everything even if you feel guilty. :)
  • The Fitbit One is about $100. I love it. They are coming out with a bracelet style FitBit soon and that will also be around $100. I can't wait to get that one. The FitBit tracks steps, sleep, calories burned, flights of stairs climbed and it syncs with MFP so you don't have to do any extra logging. :)
  • You can also get Vitamin D by spending some time outside in the sun. It doesn't have to be long. It will also make you feel better to be outside. :)
  • I love David's teas. So far, every one I have tried, I have liked. I am not as fond of Teavana teas. I bought a mug that came with a metal strainer. So what I do is, scoop the tea into the strainer, which is in the mug and use my Keurig machine to "brew" hot water. It's plenty hot and if someone else wants a different…
  • I decided a few months ago that if I waited for anyone to workout with, that I would be waiting a long time. I have a friend I walk with occasionally, but our schedules clash. I like to walk early in the morning, and she likes to go later which is not convenient for me. When I joined a gym years ago, I could get people to…
  • My daughter and I visited a David's in lower manhattan yesterday. I forget what the free sample was (I think Honeybee). Tasty but a little bland for me. I smelled a whole bunch of different ones. Too many, in fact, because now I don't remember all the ones I liked. I did buy Chocolate Chili Chai (my fave so far) and…
  • My favorites used to be Samoas. Only 12 to a box. Very easy to polish off a box. Not anymore. They changed bakers, if I recall and they have never tasted as good to me. Problem solved. LOL
  • Just looked it up. I had never heard of David's tea. I am so tempted to try a few kinds, but I don't want to spend the money and then not like it. If I go to a store, do they have samples?
  • Nice! I have been wearing my mom's wedding band because mine was too small. Yesterday, the ring almost fell off and I had to move it to the other hand. Haven't tried my own band yet, because it's tiny. I will wait another couple of weeks.
  • Non scale victory. :)
  • I have had a couple of NSV moments...pants that haven't fit in a long time that do now, feeling like I can feel a waistline again, me noticing my legs are getting shaplier. But considering that I have lost 17.5 lbs, I am kind of disappointed people have not really noticed (they do know I am counting my calories and…
  • I bought that too. It tastes a little like rubbery Miracle Whip. I don't hate it, but it's not mayonnaise. Next time I will buy light mayo. I don't use much anyway.
  • Yes!! I was excited to try them and they were not good! LOL Also, I found a recipe for brownies that called for milled flax. That's all you tasted and smelled. Yuck!!
  • Just Dance 4 has a workout option now where you can pick a category and it will play a bunch of songs and the in-between stuff is from that category. It also counts calories burned. I like that it keeps me moving without the lag of song by song, but I don't like all the songs in the routines. I have my favorites (the ones…
  • I love the recipe thing here. I use it a lot when cooking my traditional recipes that I don't have nutrition info for. Just remember when entering items, use the whole amount you are putting in the recipe, not just one serving portion. Then, based on the number of servings the recipe makes, it will divide it so the…
  • I log all my food and exercise every day (have been on here for 60 days) and workout every day. Feel free to add me. :)
  • I'm sure there are many reasons people end up gaining weight back. Mostly, I think it's because they tend to think of it as a diet and deprive themselves of things they like, so when they have lost the weight and feel they can go back to eating the way they used to, it fails. I believe you have to approach it as a…
  • This! :)
