My biggest hurdle to maintaining healthy eating habits is a tendency to restrict too much. Make sure you aren't going too low with your calories. If you hate the food you eat or starving yourself, your eventually going to have a binge and go off the rails. That's my pattern and I'm trying hard to break it. Good luck!

To just to add to what the previous commenter said, it should be a lifestyle change and I think that's the reason why Phil gained weight back. He was doing juice fasts to lose weight and while that might work, it is not sustainable long term. We unfortunately have to put in the work to change our lives or it won't take. :-(

Allowing yourself to continue to beat yourself up over that pizza will only make things worse. I would do the same thing and because I felt like a piece of crap, it would give me permission to say, screw it, I already pigged out and blew it so I'm gonna eat like crap all weekend. I'd then go binge all weekend and that one…

For me, processed sugar only makes me hungry and sends blood sugar soaring. I have tried to cut out processed sugar and replace with protein or natural sugars from fruits and veggies. If I'm craving sweets, a small square of dark chocolate will do the trick. But sweets aren't really my thing; I love salty snacks so I have…

Eating a lower carb diet works for me. It's not that carbs are bad or eating them immediately make you gain weight but for me, processed carbs make me hungry much faster than things with protein or fat. They trigger me to want to eat more and spike my insulin. For me, eating lower carbs for the majority of my diet works…

My husband has IBS and a great book is IBS for dummies. It tells u a lot about the syndrome and gives you foods that are great to eat and others that won't work for you. U can also do a search on the net for IBS diet and find foods that are best for u to eat. Good luck!

So on point! I lost much faster before I began running and training for 5k and 10k races. When I am running and pushing myself to meet goals, I am eating a little more to have the energy to push me through the workouts. However, I am still losing weight and to me, it is worth the slower pace. I feel so much better about my…

Awesome! Thanks for the suggestions.

Slow cooker soups and meat! I do a chicken enchilada soup where u throw all the ingredients in the slow cooker (even raw chicken breast) and let it cook 6 hours. Done! Try Pinterest for great ideas. That's where I get a bunch of my recipes

Great suggestions above. I also like protein bars that are low sugar like Quest bars. Deli meat and cheeses are another go to lunch for me. You can simply eat them alone or stuff them in a whole grain pita half with some lettuce and mustard or whatever you like. You can pack them the night before and your good to go!

I just plan for it and if I go over, so be it. I try to eat before and drink lower calorie drinks like vodka or mich ultra. Alcohol definitely lowers your inhibitions and it's easy to just say SCREW IT, I'm eating these wings and fries and ice cream! I usually limit my drinking to about twice a month.

If you are starving and not get the benefits of reduced cravings, keto may not be for you. For me, if I eat carbs, especially processed, I crave nonstop and cannot get full. You may be the opposite and need carbs to satisfy yourself. Try it a few more days and if it doesn't get better, ditch it! Good luck!

Where r u? :-)

When I start back, I try to focus on my exercise and just cutting out processed foods. When I set exercise goals, I notice that I more naturally make healthier choices with my food. Try not to severely restrict and punish yourself but ease into it. Find delicious new recipes to try and make it as enjoyable as you can to…

I too noticed that I make bad decisions on food and the calories flow in a lot easier with the alcohol. I'm only a social drinker but it's hard to go out for me and not drink when everyone else is. Usually when I start back to stricter calorie intake, I cut out the alcohol for at least a month at first. I stay away from…

I am not technically keto ( I eat nuts and occasionally small amounts of beans) but I do keep my carbs under 40g per day. This keeps me in a moderate ketosis. My diary is open to friends. Feel free to add me. I've been doing this on and off for 2 1/2 years and lost 140 lbs.

You are my coffee spirit animal!! I was just going to say this exactly. There is a local coffee house in my town that's roasts their own beans and I can go there and drink black coffee and love it! I drink Gevalia every morning at home and always have half and half with it. It's not the same.

Great post! I have two very tall and skinny stepsons and I try hard to help them see that heathy eating and exercise isn't just for overweight people. It's a struggle. Good luck with puberty! Mine are 17 and 15... The end is near! :-)

Just keep doing what your doing and you will lose the weight. If you really want to get down to that weight but you are having to really cut your calories and be super strict, know that it's going to be hard to maintain that weight and maybe where u are right now is perfect. Good luck!

Ha! Eat very spicy kimchi before you fart in her office! Lol I would be pissed to. I don't know a lot about the Korean culture either but my sister's mother in law is from Korea and she is very blunt. Not usually rude like ur boss but just says whatever she thinks. Thankfully she likes me so she's never said anything about…

It depends on how much you drink. I know that they can put 0 even if it's like .75, so if you have a lot they can add up. I used to drink the diet lemonade from chickfila but that has like 3 carbs a serving! Carbs are sneaky! Add me as a friend if you want. I have an open diary to friends and love to talk with other low…

I like WW but it wasn't a good fit for me because I'm really sensitive to processed carbs. They encourage you to eat what you want and just count points but that doesn't work for me. If I have a piece of toast or popcorn, the carbs send my cravings out of control. I have to follow a lower carb, lower sugar diet and it's…

I dont necessarily do keto but I'm on low carb, high fat. I usually have under 40g. Do u measure ur ketosis with the urine sticks? U may have some carbs you aren't accounting for. I know I didn't realize splenda has one carb per packet and so do most sugar free mix ins like crystal light. Make sure u are also eating enough…

I did protein shakes for a while when I first started losing but graduated to eat real food for the satiety. Occasionally I still like to have shakes for breakfast if I'm running late or really busy. I do low carb (under 40g of net carbs a day) but atkins shakes aren't my fave. I like EAS carb control. Here is a link to a…

You aren't alone. So many of us struggle with this same thing. Lose 20 lbs, gain back 30, lose 30, gain back 50. It's a vicious cycle. The thing you have to work on is not "dieting" but changing the way you view food and your everyday habits. I still have a ton of setbacks but I get back on track a lot easier now that I…

Depends on your bone structure and muscle mass. The highest weight for your height to be in a normal BMI is about 164, I believe. I would think 140 would be good if you were very lean and more like a runner. If you lift weights, I would aim a bit higher.

Put your info in MFP and it will tell you how much u should eat to lose at the rate you want. I also don't eat back my exercise calories usually. Some do, some don't but if you do and your not losing at the rate you like, you might be overestimating your exercise. I feel like my Runkeeper overestimates a lot. Good luck!!…

Pinterest!!! A lot of guys are scared of it cus they think it's for girls but I've upped my low carb recipe game so much! You can type in anything and find healthy recipes for it. Create folders for each type. I really suggest getting on and trying it. It keeps me going when I get burnt out on the same old food. :-)

Great attitude! I am working hard on being like that. I'm such an on the wagon/ off the wagon person. :-( it's hard for me not to throw in the towel. My goal for the rest of the year is to just be consistent and not allow vacations, a cruise in October and the holidays to think I can have a free for all. Thanks for sharing!
