Before. If you weigh it after, it could lead to underestimating its calories and macronutrients due to water loss.

ndj1979 I am on your side on this debate. You should check out this article below. http://articles.elitefts.com/nutrition/logic-does-not-apply-part-2-breakfast/

Having a higher calorie meal (cheat meal/day) once a week will keep metabolism high when you are eating such low calories during the week.

You mean eating lots of fat with carbs? It might work i don't know. But im guessing its more effective to take them out completely (30g of less) as they are broken down into glucose and stored either as muscle or fat, and usually fat as people tend to overeat carbs. Im not saying its impossible to get a 6 pack without…

I would say shakes are the worst for insulin spikes. Which is why I only have them post workout. Eating lots of fat with protein at a meal will help slow this down no? That's what I have been doing. If i eat 60g of protein, I would try to have 30g of fat at least with it. That is what I have read at least. I have been…

Too speed up fat loss, I would look into pushing your carbohydrate intake until the evening and see if that helps. If you don't spike insulin during the day, you will keep coristol up which will help eat away the fat. Just make sure you are eating enough protein to maintain your muscle. I wouljd suggest also upping your…

A calorie is NOT a calorie. Which is why people definitely can lose weight on a low carb, high fat, moderate protein diet (ketogenic) while eating the same amount of calories as someone on a high carb, low fat diet. http://articles.elitefts.com/nutrition/logic-does-not-apply-iii-a-calorie-is-a-calorie/ This is a great…

I would suggest looking up a beginner full body strength training program online. Probably 2-3 sets of 12-15reps or so. Water...I say drink as much as you want. I don't see the need to limit it. With my current diet, I need to drink more than most ppl, but I'm taking in probably 6 to 8 litres a day. Working out fasted in…

I would suggest getting into strength training. All I see is you are doing cardio, which isn't enough in my opinion. I looked at your diary and it seems you are getting enough protein, but maybe reduce some carbs and replace those calories with healthy fats from sources such as salmon, fish oil, avocado, grass-fed beef,…

And it is also good to have a higher calorie day also (ex. cheat day). It will help with the plateau. I use it and I continue to see progress.

It is possible to lose weight with same calories but with different macros. A calorie isn't a calorie, like many people think on these message boards haha. I would try that out and see how it goes.
-
Maybe try a ratio of like 120g of protein, 60g fat and 50g of carbs? This might be slightly on the Ketogenic side of Paleo though. Not sure if that's something you would like or not.
-
Have you ever tried more of a lower carb approach to paleo? Lower your carb cals and replace them with more fat?
-
What is the breakdown of your macronutrients?
-
What do you do for workouts? Cardio, weights? How much protein are you consuming per day?
-
Cool! Im on Carb Nite as well. 3rd one tomorrow night. Haha. I like to get on the scale the next day. Its just water weight anyway. How long have you been doing it?

I use Organic Virgin Coconut Oil as a substitute for butter sometimes. It contains MCTs (Medium Chain Triglycerides), which are used for energy by the body. I highly recommend it.

Once a week. Water weight can fluctuate depending on how much you have been drinking.

Try fasted HIIT (High intensity Interval Training). Also, cheat meals are useful for the up-regulation of the hormone Leptin. Increased Leptin means increased metabolism. Search it up :)

Cyclic Ketogenic Diet. I am currently on this eating 2000 calories, and having a cheat day once a week. I have currently lost 12ish pounds of FAT in 20 days. Not just my water weight from glycogen stores being depleted. I would look into this. Change your body over from using glucose to ketones for energy. Don't be scared…

I would have a higher calorie day (ex. cheat day) once a week or so. This will re-spark your metabolism to keep the progress going. Cutting calories slows metabolism eventually which is why you hit a plateau i'm guessing. Search up the hormone Leptin. It has a lot to do with fat metabolism.

Hey Emerald, When you cut calories, the hormone Leptin (secreted from adipose tissue aka body fat) begins to drop. This in turn slows your metabolism the longer you cut calories. Your body loves to stay in homeostasis and keep everything the same. This is why cutting calories makes you hungry, as your body wants you to eat…
