I'm in the exact same boat! 5'9.5" (yes, I'll take the 1/2 inch!), CW=181. GW=140. I know it is doable, I was just under 140 about 6 years ago. Do you have a timeline in mind for reaching your goal?

I'm 5'9.5" and my goal is 140lbs. About where I was in the profile picture!

I have Hashimoto's too. I've been on Synthroid for 13 years. My weight has fluctuated depending on whether I am on the right dose ( it isn't stable, I have to get bloodwork every 3 months or so and often need an adjustment). I gain quickly if it is out of whack, but I also lose easily ( have high energy and focus) when the…

Start Weight = 151.5 lbs Week #1 = 150.8 lbs Week #2 = 150.5 lbs Goal Weight = 145.0 lbs Well, the scale is moving in the right direction, albeit slowly!

I'm 5'9.5" and 150 right now. I have jiggly love handles, hips and thighs to work on, so my goal is to be 135-145lbs. However, I think I'm looking pretty trim in clothes right now! I figure I have a couple of months to lose the rest in time for bathing suit season.

Sorry for the late report! Start Weight = 151.5 lbs Week #1 = 150.8 lbs Goal Weight = 145.0 lbs

I agree wih the other posters who said how important it is to find an endocrinologist who is willing to up your dosage until you feel better. The range of "normal" is big, and I don't feel good at the higher end of TSH. I would also have a very difficult time losing weight there, and feel depressed and tired. Right now I'm…

Yes, I also mix 1 T baking soda in 1 C water and scrub my hair/scalp. Then rinse. Then I soak the ends in 1T vinegar mixed in 1 C water, which acts as a de-tangler/condition.

I exercise hard almost everyday and yet only wash my hair 2x per week. I use baking soda/vinegar, no shampoo. I had the same problem (washing at least 1x day, sometimes more due to exercising) and my hair was really in bad shape. So I switched to this new routine over a year ago, and my hair is healthier than ever now. No,…

I'll be joining this one, thanks! Will post my start weight and goals on Sunday. I thinking I'll aim for a 7.5 pound loss in the 5 weeks.

Yay, I weighed in at 155, for a total loss of 6.5 lbs. This exceeded my goal! Runracer11…...161.5…155.5…159.5…….159…156.5.....155.0

SW: 161.5 GW: 155.5 WK1: 159.5 WK2: 159.0 Okay, down 1/2 lb this week... it's TOM so I'll take it!

This is like running a marathon (or slightly longer) every day for 2 weeks, lolling around the rest of the day, fueled by 900 calories a day. :noway: Be careful!
-
I'm 5'9.5" and 159.5lbs. My goal weight is 145lbs, or less... we'll see. My lowest weight since having children was 137lbs and I would love to get back around there. Please feel free to friend me so we can support each other!

I lost 2 lbs since last Thursday -- am so excited to be in the 150's now! SW: 161.5 lbs CW: 159.5 lbs GW: 155.5 lbs

You look AMAZING! Great job!

I'm 5'9.5" and currently 161lbs, but last month I was in the 170's. I can tell you that my calorie goal is around 1250-1300, and I've stuck to that since January 1st. If I exercise, I usually eat back most of the calories... but not always. Although my MFP settings are for a 1.5 lb weekly loss, I've been losing in the…

I'm in! I'll be aiming for a loss of 6 lbs in 4 weeks. Currently at 164.5, but hope that is down a little by the start of the challenge on 2/17!
-
I'm 5'9.5" (almost 5'10" ;-) ). Am 164 currently and aiming for to get down to at least 145 lbs. Would love friends with similar stats so we can motivate each other!

Great news, you're on your way!

Thanks, I might have to swing by Target this week! Anyone have any suggestions that I can look up online (i.e. free  )?

You are fine eating that much given your level of exercise. Just be careful that if you dial back on the exercise, you also dial back your eating. I know from experience that it is easy to get used to eating a higher level of calories based on exercise and it becomes "normal." If something happens (like an injury or…

I have been on Synthroid for hypothyroidism for 11 years, and about 6 years ago, after having my 2nd child, I managed to go from about 175lbs down to 135lbs (I'm 5'9.5" tall, so that was a very fit weight for me). I exercised a lot and restricted calories. Now, after having my 3rd child, I am trying to do the same again.…

That's so awesome!!! Great job!

Give it a few more weeks. Synthroid has a long half-life, meaning it takes a while for it to have an effect on your system. You should start feeling better and better over the coming weeks, and hopefully you'll find that it becomes less difficult to move the scale in the right direction. Keep up with the healthy eating and…

The other thing I've learned is that it is important to find an understanding and compassionate endocrinologist who listens to how you say you feel, not only the number on the blood test report. I have found that I am very sensitive to small changes in my TSH level. My previous endo (from about 5 years ago) would not test…

I have hypothyroidism and my levels are constantly being adjusted even 3 years post-partum. When I go into hypothyroid territory, I lose all energy, go into a mental fog, depression and need to sleep a lot. In addition, I eat a lot of carbs because I feel desperate for energy. It is not uncommon for me to gain 10 pounds in…
