  • I have also discovered, if you absolutely MUST indulge in some super over-processed snack, that Nabisco doesn't just accidentally make regular Oreos vegan, ALOT of Nabisco products are accidentally vegan. I think it's due to the general "flour base" of ingredients they use often between Teddy Grahams, Oreo cookies, Nutter…
  • It is SOOOOO irritating how often whey plays in!! And where I live, in VERY rural New Hampshire, there is NO chocolate!!! There is, but my only choices are Baker's and Lindt 70% or higher (and technically they're made w/ the kind of sugar not appropriate for vegans, and I like them, they're just not oooh melt in my mouth).…
  • How long are we gonna go until? (ex: July1st deadline) I'd love to be IN!

  • Since you've been on the wagon for so long, your physically conditioned body can easily sprint back up to wagaon and grab on and pull yourself back up, picture it like Back to the Future III when they're catching onto the train at the end! :) So cool, love those movies. It also helps to play the back to the future theme…
  • Here's my stats!! Thank you to everyone for posting. I'm realizing it's not just me, and that I actually do have a generally good body image of myself, maybe I can help someone else feel good about theirs too! I guess size and weight really don't matter, and yes I feel good and much healthier than I was! But growing up I…

  • I'm taller than 5'5. That's the only hint I'm giving. I Just want to see if it's just me not compared next to another woman, or if others see it also, with me not standing next to another average woman.

  • Oh yeah, ignore my ticker, I've only been on MPF for like 2 months :P

  • Yeah, you have to be careful with "fake" meat. Alot of them contain eggs and or milk. Most that I know of are also processed. I feel bad to burst your bubble :( But there are plenty of vegan-friendly brands. You just have to be careful in reading labels, some brands will easily mark their products w/ a "vegan" label of…
  • I wanted to try Quorn, but when I found it at the grocery store, I saw on the one package they had that they're not vegan. I went to their website to see if any of their products were, and they're not :( but they're suitable for ovo-lactos :)
  • I know I do best w/ calcium and iron when I take a multivitamin. Soymilk and other non-dairy beverages that are fortified with calcium may help, but I find it's too easy to go over on carbs/sugar with these options. Otherwise, eat a TON of spinach (which is very easy for me to do, I LOVE it!)
  • I was about to open my mouth to offer an encouraging point that could make you feel better, but after reading all the way to the bottom, I won't. But I can tell you, I'm NOT skinny, and I'm sure alot of NOT skinny people would try to tell you the same thing. I'm sure with your excercise routine you feel GREAT. And I bet it…
  • Thanks for that! Will keep in mind. I have a hard time eating all my calories too, especially on days I workout, I try to have semi-high calorie post workout snacks that are at least 300+ calories, and full of nutrients (like my plant-based protein powder mixed w/ soymilk, or a clif bar on my walk home from the gym). Those…
  • How does that taste? I was looking it up, but I didn't see anything about taste. I'm using Lifetime Life's Basic plant protein, hemp, chia, pea protein, chocolate. I like it, I didn't know how it compares to Raw Meal. Thanks!

  • Yikes! I don't think I've ever experienced such soreness after a workout! When I have been really sore though, I found it best that the more I moved the muscles in normal everyday actvities, the better overall my sore mucles "healed." But I guess from personal experience I've found that not moving makes it worse. :/ I…
  • You look so much younger! And your eyes went from looking tired and unhappy, to energized and happy! Way to go! Very inspiring :D
  • YAY!!!!!!!!! Don't know how I missed this post 2 days ago!! :P
  • Time of Month. Every girls fave boyfriend. He's a player. Visits all the ladies. And treats every single one of them bad. Drains all their energy too, both emotionally and physically. Stupid TOM.
  • Definitely watch your sugar, and be careful about how much cheese/dairy you eat. It's easy to get carried away going vegetarian at first because while your body is saying no to meat (which is difficult for some), it's easy to think dairy has protein, it's not off limits! And it's amazing!! But it gets fattening very…
  • I HATE that! My girls are naturally small for my weight (199), and I noticed the other day that my C's are just barely filling out my bra :( I really hope I don't go down to a B if I get skinny :( but I am happy for all the "well endowed" that would be joyous to lose. I've had a few friends in that category, and I know…
  • Try coconut milk!! I too HATE almond milk and I've tried to like it several times. Coconut milk is not as coconutty as it may seem, and it's creamier than soy or almond, in my opinion. I've only recently discovered this, so don't mind me if I'm super crazy about it :P
  • I think a flexible vegetarian, is one that on very rare occaisons eats some meat (dairy and eggs included). A Pescetarian is a vegetarian that will also eat fish, shellfish (with dairy and eggs included). Then there's Ovo-Vegetarian (eggs included occaisonally) no dairy. Or Lacto Vegetarian (dairy included ocaisonally) no…
  • Here's a site that explains it all pretty well: http://altmed.creighton.edu/paleodiet/Foodlist.html The tabs to the left of this page give you the theory of it and such. Hope that helps :)
  • Good point! I wonder then, why my mother gave me all she had left, after telling me she was on this diet. So can Paleo's eat quinoa? And after some research, here's the answer: http://www.livestrong.com/article/278303-quinoa-paleo-diet/
  • LOVE that book! I should refer to it more often than I do.
