  • Hey Everyone! I am not new to MFP, but I am new to this group. My name is Tabby. I turned 30 in December, have been married for 10 years, am a SAHM, have 3 children (ages 7 and 5), and two furbabies. I currently live in Maryland, but grew up in Pennsylvania. I have roughly 50 lbs to lose to get to my goal weight. I look…
  • Hi. So sorry to hear that you are going through PPD. After my twins, I went through PPD. It didn't set in until they were a few months old. The only thing that I found to help was getting outside more and finding things that made me happy and making a point to do those things. I tried medication for a few months and HATED…
  • I had a vaginal birth with my oldest and then a c/s with the twins. After the twins, I lost 32 lbs within a few weeks and the flap was HORRIBLE... I looked pretty good, besides that flap of skin. It was annoying and made my pants look/fit funny. We shall see what it looks like once I get back down to that weight.
  • If you have your activity level set to anything other than "sedentary", I wouldn't. I don't log things that I do on a daily or weekly basis (straightening up the house, laundry, dishes, food prep/cooking.) I do log when I am doing a deep cleaning, rearranging, or shampooing the carpets. Even then, I only log for part of…
  • .....you have a hard time going up or down the steps to your apartment because your legs don't want to work properly.
  • Nice! There is definitely a difference!
  • If I were you, I would get a HRM. I find that MFP overestimates a lot of exercises. It seems to be pretty accurate for me when walking, but that is about it. With that being said, I think a machine at the gym that takes your weight into consideration might be a bit more accurate than MFP, especially if it monitors your HR…
  • Like others have said, you should eat back a portion of your exercise calories. Maybe add some almonds, or a protein smoothie, or something of that nature for a snack and more protein? Totally easy for "on the go" when you are short on time.
  • Wow! You lost almost 10 lbs in a week?! Did you maybe have a bit too much sodium yesterday? I find that excess sodium really makes me bloat and gain, especially if I also slacked on my water intake that day. Just keep plugging along. Be mindful that you may have cut your calories too much. What is your NET calorie intake?
  • You may want to be more specific than "college aged".... That could be anyone from 15 (or younger even?!) to 80+. I am 29 and in college. There are people much older than me who are in college. :)
  • 6 lbs in 4 weeks is pretty good, so whatever you are doing is working! MFP does overestimate sometimes when you enter in your workouts, but I don't think it is way off. At your weight, I think 1200 calories per day NET is way to low, but I am no expert. If your trainer is pushing things (supplements) at you, I would report…
  • Jeesh! People are acting like you are sitting down eating an extra large, extra cheese, bacon, hamburger, pepperoni, and sausage pizza by yourself in one sitting. I usually make my own pizza using multi-grain or whole wheat tortillas for the crust. It is like thin crust pizza and the kids love making their own. It is…
  • I like it. They have fitness classes, personal trainers, great hours, many cardio machines (bikes, elliptical, arc trainer, treadmill), and a decent number of weight machines. With the black card ($20/mth membership), I am able to bring a friend with me any time and can also visit other locations up to 5 times a month. I…
  • Are you drinking enough water? Eating high-sodium foods? It sounds like water weight to me. I would just keep at it. Make sure that you aren't going below 1200 cal NET each day and that you are drinking plenty of water.
  • So, I finished Beautiful *kitten* by Christina Lauren and have now started Daughter of Light by V.C. Andrews. We shall see how that goes...I used to be a fan of V.C. Andrews, but I have not been too impressed with her books the last few years. I LOVE READING!!!
  • Do you do the pushups modified (on your knees) or regular (on your toes)? If you are doing them regular, I would try modified to see if that helps. If you are doing modified, I would try doing wall pushups. You can also adjust how far apart your hands are...move them farther apart or closer together. As for the bicycle…
  • Nope, haven't read it... It is now on my list. Thanks!
  • I will have to check that one out.
  • For those of you who have read the 50 Shades series, have you read the Bared to You series?
  • I am currently reading Placebo by Steven James...I am not too impressed. Next up is Beautiful *kitten* by Christina Lauren.
  • I am 4'11" and currently weigh 168. Down from 188. My goal right now is 135 ish. I was 143 after having my twins and looked great, besides the extra "twin skin" around my belly. My body shape has definitely changed with having kids, so I am not sure I want to go much below my goal weight. Once I reach my goal weight, I…
  • Way to go!
  • Great job! Sometimes we put more focus on the number we see on the scale than how we feel or how our clothing fits. This is proof that 12 lbs can make a difference! Have you done measurements?
  • LOL! You guys are hilarious!
  • Hi Everyone! My name is Tabby and I just joined MFP. I am 29 years old, married, with 3 children. I just moved to the area a little less than two years ago. I have around 50 lbs to lose. I started eating better and exercising the beginning of this year and lost 15 lbs by March; unfortunately, I have not been doing so well…
