  • I tasted a sample of classic wedding cake yesterday, only a square about 2 inch x 2inch... Logged it and it was like 250 calories for such a small piece! And then basically anything you'd ever eat in a restaurant. What do they put in the food to make it soooo unhealthy?!
  • Have lost 2 stone in total (5lb to go). And then to not eat absolutely everything over Christmas, I have to be really strong!
  • Personal preference. I always work out fasted, but I work out first thing in the morning (no later than 7.30) anyway so it works for me. I also do separate cardio and weight days so each gets my full focus each workout
  • Shock absorber, without a doubt. I'm a 38FF (uk) and keeps me perfectly in place when running
  • I'm learning! Currently up to 3x8 50kg. Sure I could lift much heavier just for one rep. I need to get in the squat rack, silly anxiety. Only squatting 20kg right now as its all I can comfortably lift over my head to start with hahahah.
  • An exercise bike. I bought it for around £200 thinking it would save me a gym membership. I used it twice and eventually sold it for £50 and joined the gym. I have to leave the house to get motivated to push hard. I've also bought various DVD's that I don't use because a) again, not motivation in the house and b) the…
  • I bought some jeans a size down the other week, they do up but theyre super tight, so i'm working to fit into them by Christmas!
  • That's weird, mine adds it automatically, I find with mine it actually adds more than I have done, because i'm in their 'fat burn' zone most of the time i'm at work it always adds like 1000 exercise calories burned when I've only burned like 450 on my morning run. If I added mine manually I'd have millions of calories to…
  • Sports bra, Fitbit and my Asic running shoes. My Nike training gloves are also a must for lifting sessions in the gym. They are the only 4 things I feel I would be at a disadvantage without.
  • I think people have covered everything i wanted to say, so just popping on to say well done for you first 10lb. As you get lighter you'll be able to move more. Soon it will be 10 minute walking, then 15... Just make sure you push yourself a little bit (safely, im sure your doctors can advise). Getting some hand weights…
  • Feel free to add me! Same goes for everyone else (yes, even you men ;p) . Much easier staying on track when you know people can look at your progress... and how much cake you've eaten lol
  • Yes, bodyweight exercises will build your strength. Think plank, squat, lunge, push ups, Russion twist etc, no equipment needed. You might also want to look at HIIT videos on youtube to vary it up a bit, your body will get used to doing the same thing every day and it will become less effective. I'd also recommend pushing…
  • They're evil those holidays. I came back from 10 nights in Mexico in October and I'd put on 7lb! I blame them serving churros for breakfast.
  • 5ft6 SW - 224lb CW - 207lb LW - 150lb (2010) GW- 130lb
  • Sitting on my bed wasting time before my second work shift. Do I really have to go?
  • I take off my ring for weight training before I leave the house and keep it in its box. It gets in the way and hurts my finger when lifting, and my gloves don't fit over it anyway. I leave it on for running though.
  • I know for me doing two new programmes at once would be just too much. I started running using the C25k programme and it's only recently now I've been running a few months that running doesnt leave a lasting aching effect meaning I need a rest day after. As you get fitter, you'll be able to push your body harder but to…
  • Sounds like a good breakfast to me. If you're still hungry mid morning have a healthy snack before lunch `
  • Thank you for your replies guys! I took two rest days last week but I definitly feel like I didn't need them. I don't want to push myself too hard but at the same time I just feel a bit..rubbish if I don't do SOMETHING. I think I'm going to switch my complete rest days out for either a walk or yoga just to stay active but…
  • Yeah I do when we happen to go past one, we don't have one close by though =(
  • It works for some and not for others. Its about what's right for you. Try it and see, but if it doesnt work out don't beat yourself up over it. Personally I ALWAYS work out fasted, I just don't perform as well if I've eaten even 2 hours before so I do all my work outs first thing in the morning, which also fits into my…
  • As long as when you go back to eating normally you don't just jump into eating loads to make up for it then you should be fine, millions of people fast for periods of time over the world. The whole point of fasting is to help your mental strength when dealing with life, which will be super helpful when trying to beat…
  • I love cucumber. And tomatoes, we never have any in the house because I always eat them as I go past the fridge haha
  • Bit late to the party but me please! I'm 26 and 204lb (but I started at 224lb)
  • I've taken a photo of this on my phone to save for later, going to have a browse online and see what I can find. Thank you!
  • Veggies in hummus is a good idea, just need to excerise control over hummus, could eat the whole tub! I've just thought of doing chickpeas in my actifry too with some seasoning to make little 'nut' style snacks.
  • I LOVE indian snacks like these. I used to work as an assistant for an indian lady and she used to give me loads, theyre lovely. I never thought about them being used as a snack though but I guess as theyre generally not potato based it makes sense. Can you suggest any in particular I can look for? I like spicey.
  • There is evidence for both being good. A lot of it is what works best for you. Personally I do ALL of my workouts fasted, because I perform better and can push harder without feeling sick, but then I also don't feel more hungry than normal afterwards so I don't overeat from that
  • I try to stay low carb in the week (but not NO carb) and allow myself less restriction on the weekend. My main problem which has made me gain weight is sugar, so I try and limit refined sugars as much as I can to get out of the addiction. I'd make batch snacks if I could make them low sugar and calorie. I love beef jerky…
  • Eggs eggs eggs! I love eggs. I also get good quality diet whey protein shake so it tastes good with just water, some are better than others which I use after a weight session in the gym.
