Lost 40lb and now lost my dedication
I've gained 7lb back but lost lots of muscle so its all fat. Feeling miserable but really struggling to keep dedicated enough to get back on track! It's like I have litterally no willpower anymore. I lost the 40lb about 2 years ago. I still have 30lb to lose. Anyone else similar managed to get back on it?

Looking for running friends!
Hey! I'd love a few more running friends on here. Don't mind if you're just starting out or youre a seasoned runner, just want to surround myself with like-minded people. I'm currently building up from just running regular 5k's to Marathon next spring. Have a 10 mile race coming up in July.

Tired and hunrgy/nauseous - food related?
Hi guys. So I've been using MFP for a long while now, with good results. I've recently upped my excersise from 3 or 4 days a week to 6 (not all high intensity though) for the past 3 weeks. Yesterday I actually fell asleep reading in the middle of the day which I never do and woke up feeling drained and tired. I added a…

Running - Athletics clubs
My partner and I are toying with the idea of joining our local athletics club. Reasons being - proper coaching, form correcting, motivation and the social aspect of it. He's been running for a while, had a little 3 year break from it and got back into it last year and I started as a complete beginner last spring. I'm…

Exercises for Arthritis in the back
My partner has had some lower back pain for the last few months and the doctor has said it is most probably arthritis because he's 'old and tall' (he's 41 and 6ft 6). He usually goes to the gym often, runs, deadlifts, hanging leg raises etc etc but he can't do that while his back is hurting and he's on his meds, but the…

RUNNERS! Hip pain when upping distance help
Second time this has happened and I'm not very biologically minded (does that even make sense) so I was hoping some fellow runners could shed some light on this for me. I ran a little longer than normal today, nothing major, 7k up from 5k. This is the second time I've done this and both times I've developed a bit of a hip…

Too much salt?
I usually cook/prep all my food from scratch, but I had a bit of a ham mishap in our prepped lunches this week. It must have had a short 'best before' date on it that I didn't notice so we had to throw out our last two days lunches. I grabbed a couple of cans of soup to replace them and BOTH (Heinz brand) have come up when…

How long until you went down a dress size?
I bought some jeans in a size too small as my first non-scale goal. I'm 24lb down now and they're still too tight =( How much did you lose until you could fit in smaller clothes? I was hoping to be in them by christmas but it's not looking likely now, boo.

How much difference do carbs really make on running?
I usually have a lower carb evening meal, and I run first thing in the morning (because my lunch usually involves grains and I'm trying to keep my macros how MFP suggests). Last night my partner wanted to make some rice to go with our dinner, and made way too much of it but it was sooo good, I definitely ate more than I…

Running gloves
Winter is cold! Once I'm running i'm all warm and toasty apart from my fingers so I need to get some gloves, but I want proper running ones. I've seen a Nike dry-fit set which look good (my running tops are dry-fit and I really love them) but also some Asics ones, I can't decide so recommendations would be good. Especially…

How much does your weight fluctuate?
Just out of interest really. I weigh daily so I can keep an eye on my body fat % and any links between the food ive eaten and my weight. I use a fitbit with their integrated scale, so I focus mainly on the weekly average for my weight loss goal but I'm fascinated by how much my weight fluctuates throughout the week! For…

Affordable snacks (UK)
The thing I'm struggling with most is snacks at the moment. My meals are pretty balanced (ignoring the cake I had today but my mother in law baked it and brought it) and healthy, I get a big delivery of lean meat and chicken once a month from muscle foods and we don't eat processed food very often so I'm quite happy in…

What are your morning routines that help you be successful?
It's getting darker in the mornings here in the UK, I'm struggling to get out of bed before 8am and I need to be up by 6.30 really to get everything done. I've ordered a sunrise alarm clock (to simulate the sun rising in my bedroom and wake me up naturally) and decided I need to move my morning run to 7am instead of 9am, I…

Beginners running - How can I keep going?!
Hi! I haven't used MFP for aggesss so I thought I best say hello too. I've recently started running, and entered into my first 5k race in March which gives me lots of time to train. I'm aiming for the 30 minute mark. I'm currently doing it in about 40 to 45 minutes but I'm really struggling to keep running. I do run/walk…

Working out and upset stomach?
It seems like whenever I try a more intensive work out than just walking I end up with an upset stomach. If I walk, no matter how many miles, I am always fine, but if it's raining I prefer to hop on my cross trainer but it always seems to upset me. A few years ago I lost 20lb (put it all back on now and more, pah) using my…

I can't stop eating!
I'm having a real problem with snacking. Or, not so much snacking but just not stopping eating. I tend to wake up late so sometimes I skip breakfast, but other times when I have breakfast its still the same. Lunch comes around and I eat what ever I planned, and then, I go and add a couple of crispbreads. And then a cereal…

Vegetarian meal ideas
My partner and I are vegetarian, and while my local supermarket has a large range of meat substitutes to stick in the oven after work I have realised many of them are high in cals (and high in cheese!). We had a roast dinner yesterday with a ratatouille roast, which was around 400 cals!! So, I need filling and healthy vegi…

Weight loss on a higher cal limit successes?

Eating back burned calories
Do you guys eat back calories you have burned through working out? I'm attending the gym around 5 times a week, doing cardio and burning between 300-500 calories per work out, and have my calorie allowance on here set above the 1200 as I'm looking for slow but sustainable weight loss (1lb a week instead of the 2lb which…
