  • Yeah, dates have always made me a bit nauseous, but I'd never had beets before so I assumed they were necessary in the mix. I've been using old brown bananas, so that's another change I could make- thanks for the suggestions!
  • I eat the same three meals pretty much every day so take mine with a grain of salt Every other week I buy: Oats Boneless skinless chicken breasts Eggs Sunflower seeds Yogurt Cottage cheese Every week I buy: 5 avocados Bananas Carrots Cuties/oranges Spinach Squash/whatever veggies
  • Yeah, due to past ED's, when I don't 'try' to eat more, I have a habit of consuming around 1000 calories a day. I even tried 1200 and lost a few lbs, and got completely stuck, even when I was religious with weighing and everything. Eating 1900 I'm losing regularly, so I think it's silly to definitely say that people…
  • Happy birthday! I think it's extremely important that you take a free day for events like that! I've turned down cake, made super healthy choices on I and my friend's birthdays, but always felt really deprived afterwards. Are you really going to live a life without cake? FOREVER? It's just not reasonable to assume you're…
  • Anyone can feel free to add me~! I've been here a while so I'll stick around haha.
  • I'm not super big on sweets in the morning, so I cook my oatmeal in beef broth and throw a poached egg on top. If you want to get fancy you can cook a knob of ginger in the broth and take it out before you add the oats, then throw in some mushrooms/green onions/whatever you want.
  • Just out of curiosity, are you still going to try and hit your calorie limit? I really want to just 'eat clean' and not worry about cals, but I know it'd technically be starving myself if I were to do so
  • This may not be helpful, but there's a book called Saving Dinner that's pretty much all about this..it has a weekly shopping list organized by season so produce will be fresh and cheap, and a bunch of make-ahead meals
  • It's pretty important to both take measurements/starting photos, and to really make sure you're eating enough. You may gain a slight bit of muscle from the program, but people struggle to gain even a pound a month, and that's WITH heavy lifting and consuming vast amounts of protein. Also, be careful accepting what MFP says…
  • I got about half way through, so take what I say lightly, but for me it was less about weight loss than it was really EMPOWERING. It was amazing to compare your body to what it was last week, and see how much you improve. If that's the sort of thing that motivates you, I highly recommend it- sometimes it can be…
  • Zuppa Toscana is good but pretty heavy for lunch- I love making coconut curry too, but if you're in an office it'll make the whole area smell a bit off and your coworkers won't appreciate it a ton D: Typically I eat a protein bar and fruit, which keeps me pretty full and is way easier/more convenient than soup, but I have…
  • I guess I shoulda mentioned that my advice is coming from someone who struggled with ana for years- don't feel alone! Lots of people here- even if they didn't have an eating disorder- still suffered from disordered eating at one point in their life. It isn't easy to overcome the part of your mind that's telling you that…
  • It's pretty difficult to begin eating that much food, especially when you've been essentially starving yourself for so long. Mentally, you probably don't believe it will 'work' to eat more, and that can stress you out and make you have less of an appetite. Physically, your body's confused as crap by what you're suddenly…
  • I made these and my experience was..less than pleasant. I'm not a HUGE egg fan to begin with, but they got kind of an off taste after a few days of being frozen. I'm not sure how long you're supposed to be able to keep them, either, but mine started to turn a brownish-green so I tossed 'em and ultimately it was a waste of…
  • I know you're joking, but your heart rate increases when you're aroused, so it'll measure as being way higher than it actually is. I think it's something like 20 cals per session
  • Ooh, I LOVE Greek yogurt! You can use it to make healthy Ranch, marinate chicken (it makes for the most tender chicken ever, it really is amazing), make greek yogurt 'cheesecake' bites (I mix it with fruit, hot coco, or jello pudding powder and freeze it in a muffin tin for an easy snack), make sauce with cucumber, use it…
  • I deal with depression, BPD, and a few other things that aren't particularly relevant. Having a routine is REALLY helping with these things, and I feel so self satisfied with every tiny bit of progress. Every pound I lose makes me feel less 'useless', makes me hold myself in higher regard, and leads to me doing other…
  • I'm not sure why everyone's talking as if you have to eat the WHOLE pizza! I eat two slices MAX and I'm stuffed- I assume most women are the same/in relation to their weight.
  • Black coffee and ice water are some good ones- you can also try eating less processed food and artificial sweeteners! It's hard to go over on cals when you're snacking on carrots and the like and you can eat a stupid amount throughout the day
  • I don't have all the answers, but I've been doing this for a while (recently hopped back on the wagon) so feel free to add me and maybe I can point you in the right direction :)
  • I've cleaned very intensely (sweating almost all the time) for about six hours, and I went ahead and logged 45 minutes of it. I don't want to cheat myself by logging every little thing, but at the same time, that was more intense than any workout I do.
  • I decided to change when my ex posted a picture of me on his Facebook, and someone asked whether or not I was pregnant...whether out of curiosity or spite I guess I'll never know, but they sure did me a favor :flowerforyou:
  • as far as low cal drinks go, I like to mix vodka with Crystal Lite, or water with Mio. It's pretty great and you can get an astounding amount of alcohol in one without ever tasting it. Cake vodka isn't something I know of, though
  • Nope, it's only about 21 cals per session. A HRM won't even log it accurately, as your heart rate is artificially high (think when you kiss someone you love, your heartrate goes up- are you really burning cals by moving your lips a little bit?)
  • I think you shouldn't second guess yourself- if it fits, it fits! I have a bad habit of doing that, and thinking there MUST be some kind of fluke but nope, it's all hard work. Congratulate yourself on it!
  • Get a rice cooker!
  • I made some savory oatmeal this morning and it was a GREAT start to the day: Ingredients One 1/4" slice fresh ginger, the size of a quarter, peeled 1/2 cup oats 1 cup chicken broth or water (I used chicken broth) 1 poached egg a drizzle of gluten-free soy sauce a drizzle of sesame oil hot sauce, optional fresh minced…
  • Whoops, I don't guess I ever posted my pictures! Here they are: March: For laughs, here's me in January-ish:
  • I'm also often not up at midnight, but you could always take 20 minutes and do 30DS or some other exercise tape- not only will it occupy your time, but you'll get to eat at the end of it, too! Other than that, cucumbers, carrots, celery...all are satisfyingly crunchy like chips, but almost calorie free
  • I mix 1/4 cup of it with a ripe avocado and mush it all together. I also really like it with apples, melons, and peaches!
