I can't get my blasted ticker thing to work. From the 1st through the 4th, I have walked a total of 14.75 miles

Start slowly with easy, sustainable changes. Parking at the end of the lot when you shop. Air popped popcorn instead of microwave, cut your soda or latte habit by a little each week, add in more veg per week. Massive, immediate changes rarely work in the long term because they are hard to stick with and neither do fad…

I would like to join in with a bump in my goal to 50 miles.

Well, I made it!!! Not as strong as I would have liked but I was well and truly over by 5 miles so that is pretty damned good. Especially when you consider that I can't do my bike or elliptical because of the broken hand and it's been a heat wave with heat indexes hovering around the 100° mark so walking outside is not a…

Hi-I'm Libi and I live outside of Spencer in the NW corner, south of Okoboji. I'm originally from Adair which is smack dab between DSM and CB (about 75 miles west of DSM on I80) I have 2 sons in the military and am the proud grandma to 2 boys (they're working on getting me a 3rd grandchild but DIL wants a girl this time).…

Not a clue, but I saw that you didnt have an answer. I do know that it was al altenative to swearing. My grandma said 'mercy' and 'good lord' a lot.

Checking in that as of last night, 11 miles done and 33 to go. :flowerforyou:
-
Please put me down for 45 miles. Testing my new ticker also. :)

- I *HATE* bridges, anything bigger than two cars freaks me the hell out. My eyes screw shut-driving or not-, my body tenses, and I start breathing very quickly. It's very traumatic for me, my passengers too if it happens when I'm driving. DH always drives wherever we go somewhere new because you never know if there's a…

Agree with the fist shaking there. You can always plate half immediately as take away for lunch the next day, then you won't be tempted to eat until it is gone.

Sweetie--I can't do a regular push up to save my soul but I *am* doing modified push ups (counter) with Runtastic. I have their apps for running, squats, sit ups, and push ups. They have free and paid apps that I really like the best of all of the free ones out there. And they offer in all the mobile platforms. Just go to…

bumping for later.

Well..the biggest one is my ticker vvv  But also, I've noticed I'm eating less and making better choices before I eat. When we go out for dinner, we go with people who are supportive of my life changes and weight loss goal. It really helps that they don't mind me whipping out my phone so I can log BEFORE I eat.. so I…

Condoms don't flush either. At graduation for the last of us kids (7), the septic tank backed up and a huge baskeptball sized blockage was discovered--entirely comprised of condoms.

My DIL is a member here on MFP, is *VERY* health conscious, and cooks as whole as possible. Their youngest son, my youngest grandson was a year old in November. He has been diagnosed with allergies to gluten, dairy, chocolate.. Now my youngest son is struggling with digestive issues and is being tested for Celiac, Crohn's…

I grew up with eight people using a small closet of a bathroom. It takes a second to put down the lid, why get bent over it. It takes just as long for someone else to lift it. Why not confuse the hell out of them and lift it when you're done. That'll get them thinking.

If you're near a Hy Vee, I recommend the Hy Vee brand Whey & Soy PP. I use one scoop vanilla with 1/2 c greek yogurt, 1/2 c fruit, and 8oz almond milk. It keeps me full all morning without being bloated or feeling crappy. It is the best tasting vanilla I've tried with no scum that PP can have. I have not tried any other…

Nope. Unless you count the electricity to charge it--ONCE A WEEK!! www.fitbit.com does have different levels of membership, but I sync it here so never use the site at all.

CONGRATULATIONS!! It's been since 1999 that I was in ONEderland. I'm stuck, fluctuating between 201-204 atm, but I will prevail just as soon as the weather here in NW IA straightens up and I can get outside again.

I LOVE, adore, am addicted to my FitBit One. I litterally wear it 24/7 and the only time it is taken off is when it's on the charger or when I shower or swim--I wish it were waterproof. It tracks your steps, floors climbed, and calories burned. At night you hold the button and it stracks your sleep cycle. The only thing it…

CONGRATULATIONS SWEETIE!!!

My sister's wedding weekend, I took my shake mix and travel juice-box things of almond milk so I would have something reasonable to eat at least once a day all weekend. Fast food was eaten at McD's via the grilled chicken, sweet chili wrap which weighed in at 260 calories and was FILLING--even my 250+ brother was full on…
