People have posted on the forums here that she has said that in interviews. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/700505-rest-days-with-30-day-shred Found this too: http://www.fatsecret.com/Community.aspx?pa=fp&t=57015 So not exactly as I posted before (although that has been posted on these forums) but at least 2 rest…

First time I did it I would have two rest days a week. If you search teh forums there are links to JM herself saying that you should do 2 days, 1 day pure cardio, 2 days, 1 day pure cardio and then a complete rest day. Do what works for you but at least two rest days a week, I did 30 days and lost 7 inches, just started…

I weigh myself in the morning, post pee. I weigh daily because I like to see the fluctuations but I only track weekly on here. I also measure as my body fat percentage is more important that a number on the scale. Basically as others have said the most important thing is to do it at roughly the same time.

I'll usually have a little or work out how much exercise it costs, if I really want it then I'll do the exercise!

Aside from clothes generally fitting better, today was a measurement day. Whilst my BF% still puts me at overweight, my hip to waist ratio and waist to height ratio are both healthy (only just on the waist to height but still in the healthy range)

Over what period did you gain 3lbs? Have a search of the forums and they will tell you if you are using MFP set goals you should eat back your exercise calories, your body may take a couple of weeks to adjust but if you are logging everything and hitting your goals then you should start to lose. If you are close to your…

I'm just over 5ft 6 and a medium-large frame with hourglass shape. Currently I weight 182lbs and am comfortable in a UK size 14 usually. My initial goal is to get to 160lbs then to look at my body fat % and re-assess from there, my goal then will be to get to 25% or lower body fat. I got down to 12 stone (168lbs) two years…

The scale almost hitting 200lbs, photos with double chin but what really did it was catching sight of my back fat in the mirror. One stone off later and its still there but nowhere near as bad. I will get rid of it soon!

I did the 30 days (had to do the modified beginner moves through level 3) and I lost plenty of inches (4 on my tummy), my other half said he could see a big difference in my shape. I am currently taking a break from Jillian Michaels but I will do either 30 DS again after Easter or one of her other DVDS, suspect it will be…

Another UK-er here, feel free to add

500 calories over is roughly maintenance for me so I don't view that as a 'bad' day, in fact I deliberately have a day at maintenance level at least once a month as it often seems to stop me plateauing. You did exercise to counteract it, if you've logged everything accurately and you are roughly 500 over it is not going to…

I'm not but I have crunched my numbers, my TDEE-20% is about 1800 cals which is pretty much what I eat now will 150-200 calorie burn each day, once I reach my initial goal I'll crunch them again, look at my body fat % and probably set my calories to this and stop logging or at least eating back my exercise calories, as I…

I have the £50ish Polar FT4 which shows calories burned, plenty on sale on Ebay is you don't mind a second hand one.

I tried to do 30DS before I ate my breakfast one day and completely failed so that might be having an impact, especially as I wasn't going to the gym beforehand! I also found jump rope really hard when I started, don't be afraid of taking a break, just keep them short, no longer than 5 seconds. You will improve and quicker…

Welcome (from an also snowy herefordshire!)

You are supposed to do 10 days at each level but I think its all about doing what your comfortable with and pushing yourself at the same time, I stuck on Level 2 for 14 days, partly because I started L1 with no weights then small weights and I knew I needed to build up some arm strength, plus my calorie burn was staying…

I weight daily because I like to see the fluctuations, last Friday I dropped 1.2 lbs from the day before, I haven't been below this since but Friday is my official weigh in day so I'm hoping to drop at least a little. Thursday is my complete rest day so I usually have a biggish drop on a Friday. If you don't like to see…
-
Currently I weigh daily as I'm interested in my fluctuations and patterns but the only one that 'counts' and that I record on here is my Friday morning weigh in.
-
I'm 5'7 and current weight is 189lbs. I've put my ultimate target weight as 147lbs for now but really I want to get to around 165lbs and re-assess my body fat % and go from there.
-
There is no way I'd be able to keep to 1200 calories either (also have a 4 year old) Have a look here to work out what your calorie intake should be http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/654536-in-place-of-a-road-map-2-0-revised-7-2-12 , aim for 1lb a week off instead of 2lb, yes the weight will come off slower but its…

I'm about to start day 12 of level 2 and still finding it hard although it has got a lot easier! I found it hard on my knees for the first couple of days, but a rest day combined with not going deep in the lunges seems to have sorted that
-
I don't get overwhelmed by it but like you I have set mini-goals, I have a nice dinner to attend at the end of Marsh so I've set a goal for that, then I'll set another interim goal where I look at my weight and my body fat % before finalising my final weight goal.

I am pretty new round these parts and whilst there seems to be plenty of robust discussion I haven't seen any bullying. What I have seen in this thread is heaps of sarcasm and a little rudeness (from both sides). I have to say the last few posts from the OP have got my back right up as they strike me as faux politeness,…

When you say you find no difference does that mean you put the 4 inches back on or just no difference in those 6 days from your initial 4 inch loss? I'm at Day 20 and not lost much weight but like you I have lost inches, I would guess if you have too many rest days inbetween you are not getting the muscle to change quickly…

I meal plan and cook everything from scratch. Butchers and fruit and veg shops can seem to be more expensive, for example two chicken breasts at the butcher cost far more than at the supermarket BUT the breasts are much larger so by weight they are a similar price and the butcher ones also have much more flavour so when I…

Have a rest day then try again, take a 5 second breather if you need to when you are doing it!
-
General circuit training should be fairly close, although a heart rate monitor would be the best way to tell, for me about 230-250 calories.
-
I really struggled with day1 - sore legs the day after so had a 2 rest days and tried again, still couldn't get through the skip rope thing but didn't ache as much the next day, byday 10 I could get through without stopping, have just completed day 10 of level 2. Again can get through without stopping although have to do…

I have 2 rest days a week from 30DS (only so many times I can fight the 4 year old for my weights or ask her not to do 'exercise' in the space I'm trying to use!) and on those days I'm doing Wii fit, yoga or step aerobics.

I'm in rural herefordshire, feel free to add me. As someone else said, there is a Team UK in the groups and that's worth joining.
