  • I think this is mostly good advice apart from this one: I don't know - I do this and all it does is make me feel miserable and guilty (and not in an empowering 'oh, I'll never do this again!' kind of way). For me, it's a very disordered action. I think it's better to just get a hold of the behaviour than to make yourself…
  • I'm on probably 98% vanity at the moment. I think I'm pretty healthy to be honest, and my extra weight hasn't caused me any problems at all thus far. 2% for just making sure I'm light enough to keep my knees happy (I used to have issues with them)? I'm a terrible person, basically.
  • No one comments on what I eat, which is probably a good thing as I'd likely disregard their advice :P I just keep it public so that if anyone out there wants ideas for a meal they can possibly get some from mine :) That's what I use other people's for if I happen to click on them.
  • I'm running low today, i.e. I have eaten nothing and it's nearly midnight :( I'll start afresh tomorrow, I guess. What I like to do is eat a little of something I really enjoy that's very calorific (not necessarily unhealthy, though!). You aren't hungry, so you won't eat much of it, and you get a little indulgence.…
  • I'm bad enough with calorie counting - I don't need to add another obsessive thing into my life. I'm not really fussed about where my food comes from. Maybe it's because I'm young and don't get to buy my own. I'll probably care when I'm older.
  • I would say yes, because fruit can be significantly calorific in larger quantities. And if you're eating it through the day, it'll definitely add up.
  • I don't understand, is it normal to have to spit? Can't you swallow?
  • Like I said, I'm not in a hurry to do this again - it'll be my usual route of 4.5 miles for a good while. My doctor said it was fine to do the half as long as I didn't do it again for a while. I'm not a new runner - just not a distance one - but I definitely know there are a lot of injuries you can do yourself.
  • Thanks everyone! I'm definitely going to check out those sites :D I love running - it's such an exhilerating feeling. Good luck to those training themselves up! RMinVA, I know I probably shouldn't have done it, but I was trying to prove something to myself. I'm icing though, and I definitely won't be doing anything this…
  • Weekdays, once in the morning and once when I get back from school to get an idea of where I'll be the next day. On weekends, once in the morning and once after every meal.
  • You should do whatever feels best for you :) for example, I like to do 1-2hrs of cardio (burning 600-1200) calories and pushups/crunches/pullups/squats when I go to the gym, but I don't do this every day. When I don't do this, I like to just hula hoop in my room to the TV. I have no idea how many calories it burns, and I…
  • Maybe she's embarrassed? Or doesn't think that other people should follow her bad example, so she tells them what they SHOULD do to have sustained weight loss? I don't know, I think if she was proud or happy with the way she lost weight, she would have espoused the virtues of her particular 'diet' more. I mean, I try to…
  • You didn't slide backwards in my opinion. You say you worked out less, but you worked out some, didn't you? That means you're two weeks fitter than you were before :) And did you have fun on your holidays? Did you enjoy them? That's what's important. Two weeks or four weeks 'behind' is nothing in the grand scheme of things…
  • Ha, I don't like big muscles on women OR men. No defined four packs or six packs or eight packs for me, please and thank you. My limit of muscle is around that of a lean (like, flat stomach but muscles not bulging) fashion model for men - not the waify ones, but I like them too ;) - and a sprinter for women, like Christine…
  • As far as I know, skimmed milk is 0.1% fat, whereas low fat is usually around 1%, so between semi-skimmed (2%) and skimmed. To be honest though, there's not that much difference in my opinion between the three in low quantities. I think they have slightly different amounts of vitamins in them, though. Skimmed - approx 35…
  • 'Fresh pineapple, kiwi, or papaya as each of these fruits, and a few others, contains high enough levels of an enzyme that breaks down protein to stop the jelly from setting. Frozen versions will have the same problems but canned ones have been heated and this has made the enzymes lose their chemical properties, and thus…
