Met a friend near Dunkin Donuts for a walk. She stopped in and got a donut to eat while walking! She's smart, hard-working, and burdened with a lot of extra weight. I didn't even know what to say - I had already mentioned by success with logging calories and exercise, so didn't want to become a broken record.

Chelsea - looks like your goals are reasonable, at your age and height. I'm also 5'9", but am age 72, and although I'm shooting for a 4lb loss by the end of Feb, a more reasonable goal for me is to lose around 1/2lb per week, so I'll be content with that. Good luck, Chelsea!

That's so excellent! So, 300 calories used with the cardio, plus maybe another 3-400 calorie deficit from mindful eating - you don't have to be hungry all the time - there you go, the pounds peel off. Thanks for the inspiration!
