  • You have an amazing enough body to pretty much wear anything. And honestly try not to worry to much what other people think. If they don't like what your wearing that's their own problem, not yours. Wear what you like, what makes you feel happy. I know I'd be pretty damn boring if I took it to heart every time somebody…
  • And remember that the number the calculator gives you still needs to be multiplied by 1.2 to give you your total estimated burn for being completely sedentary.
  • Hell yea! She is one super sexy *kitten* kicking undead chick.
  • That's .3 point 3
  • It's all about the calorie deficit you create. For example when I was 220 pounds my bmr (assuming Im sedentary) was 2168.4. That's how much I would have to eat to maintain 220 pounds. So if I ate 1500 calories a day my deficit would be 668.4 per day and I would lose approx 1.3 pounds per week assuming I was completely…
  • I think it's sad that children are made to feel bad about the way they look and their weight. But i also find it sad that childhood obesity is a problem to begin with because parents are not teaching their children good eating habits. It reminds me of those episodes of maury with the 2 year olds that weigh close to 100…
  • They are good for helping you reach your protein goals, especially on work out days. It's important that you get sufficient protein when you exercise because that muscles soreness we feel after working out is the lactic acid burning our muscles and in the case of weight lifting tears in the muscle. Your muscles need that…
  • Same here. I swear that documentary was funded by McDonald's as a desperate attempt to discredit Super Size Me. The whole thing is complete non sense.
  • I've had this issues for the past 6 or 7 years or so. I was chubby in highschool but when I got into college I moved in with my dad who is diabetic so between no sugar and walking his dogs every day and actually watching what I was eating because I wanted to start dating I got down to about 165ish. Then I met my boyfriend…
  • I use x1.2 to get 1831.77 which is assuming I would be sedentary. I use it knowing that I'm probably going to be burning some at work.
  • In any case I'm not debating the fact that eating more can help you drop weight, especially if you have hit a plateau. I'm just saying that 1200 calories is more than enough especially for people with lower a lower bmr and is not at all going to cause 'starvation mode'.
  • Actually I do take into account my BMR. In fact I keep a deficit diary so at the end of the week I can see roughly how much I should have lost. Like today I ate 1447 calories. My BMR is 1831.77. So my deficit for food for the day is 384.77. Now I didn't exercise today but for the sake of the example lets say I burned 300…
  • No I meant you need to have a net 1200 to the good. So for me I eat 1500 calories generally. If i burn 700 calories at the gym then I would need to eat 1900 (400 of my exercise) calories to maintain a 1200 calorie total.
  • I took a picture just the other day and I'm already seeing a big difference. Hope everybody is kicking as much butt as I am.
  • 0_o I imagine at first you might gain a pound or two depending on how big you get em. >_<
  • Being on a 1200 calorie diet isn't really a bad thing as long as you are maintaining a net of 1200 calories. It's when people eat 1200 calories and burn a bunch with exercise and don't eat any of those calories back that you run into problems. And 1200 net is more than enough to keep you from the dreaded "starvation mode".…
  • It put me between 132 and 138. I did mine with both a medium and large build because i'm not really sure what I am. I have pretty wide hips though. So maybe I'm underestimating myself with a goal weight of 140? Ah well. I figure if I get to 140 and I'm not liking what I see I can always lose a few more.
  • My body image is SO horribly horrbily skewed. I do not have any pictures of when I was 220 pounds so it's hard for me to see how far I've come. A few weeks ago I jumped back on the fitness bandwagon and since I've lost about 11 pounds. I kept bugging my boyfriend. "Can you tell that I've lost weight?" "Yes" "You're lying.…
  • You are WAY over thinking this. Weight loss is literally as simple as calories in / calories out. There are a certain number of calories you need to maintain your weight. You can figure this out with a BMR calculator. http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/ by multiplying that number by 1.2 you can determine how many…
  • What's with the "(hopefully)". Have more faith in yourself! "Do or do not. There is no try." - Yoda
  • Sounds like you need to get on a resistance / weight training workout. You need to put on weight but it needs to be lean muscle weight of course and not fat. And when you put on lean muscle as long as you are eating right the fat should come off bringing your weight up and fat % down.
  • On my last weigh in my scale told me that I was 157.8 and I knew that wasn't right so I stepped on it again adn it told me i was 147.8 so I stepped on it again and it told me i was 156.8 etc etc. I had to reset it quite a few times before I got it to tell me a weight that made sense three times in a row. I keep a log of my…
  • You should take a least one picture of yourself for you. I seriously regret not having a picture of myself at my heaviest because I can't look back and see how far I've come when I look in the mirror and still feel fat.
  • A lot of the "healthy" options in fast food are PACKED with sodium. So when it's the only option just make sure you are drinking a ton of water a long with it to help keep you from gaining water weight. And I don't know if there are Hardee's on that side of the country but they just came out with a few turkey burgers under…
  • Been there and done that. Getting asked "Whats your secret?" is getting really really old and even more annoying when they get pissed off that I tell them that there is no secret. Just eat better and move more. Calories in / Calories out. The general reply I get is a long list of excuses of why they can't do it. Pretty…
  • When you have that much to lose it's not uncommon to lose that fast. Just know that it will gradually slow down and don't get frustrated when 3-5 pounds a week turns into 1 - 2 pounds a week or if you gain a bit every once in while.
  • Go to a bmr calculator like http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/ Put in your height an your goal weight. Then multiply that by 1.2 and that will give you a rough idea of how many calories you'll be able to eat with little to no exercise.
  • I actually wrote a blog today about how I calculate my daily and weekly deficit to roughly predict how much weight I should have lost for a week. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/Ziaki Hope that helps some. Know that you need to have a deficit 3500 calories to lose one pound. And realize that its not really healthy to lose…
  • I've heard that before. The idea is that it will give your body time to burn that food off throughout the day while you are moving and it doesn't actually work that way. The plain simple fact of the matter when it comes to weight loss is calories in / calories out. Time doesn't really matter. I personally can't fall asleep…
  • I do that a lot to. Like today was thurs, now its technically friday since it's 12:07 where I'm from. But I'll be logging all my food on my thursday diary until I go to bed and wake up friday late morning / early afternoon.
