I just bought the Polar FT4 and I'm in love! Tracks my HR and keeps me in zone, tells me how long I spent in zone, and converts HR to calories burned based on my age, height, and weight. The chest strap is super comfy and you'll never know it's there!

Oh! I gotta get my popcorn ready before the ish show starts! How many should I make it for?
-
Get a heart rate monitor. Mine (Polar FT4) converts HR to calories burned. Then just log it as such. Polar has a bunch of different models to choose from too.

You know, if you have a fruit allergy, I'd recommend seeing either a certified nutrition specialist or a registered dietitian. If you're allergic to something, you shouldn't eat it; your reaction will only get worse with each exposure. You can eat the canned fruits because they've been peeled and cooked and the proteins…

This. Your recipe should be able to tell you how many servings it yields. Or if not, play with serving sizes until you find a "calories per serving" you like, and serve that amount.

Avoid stimulant laxatives unless your doctor tells you to take them. Your body can become dependent on them. Bottom line is (oops, sorry about the pun) is talk to your doctor. Make sure you don't have something else going on causing the constipation, since it's sending you to the hospital. "Normal" constipation doesn't do…

 I thought the satire here was pretty clear - even without a "sarcasm font" I also found this hilarious from a nerd perspective (I loved anthropology in college). --- For anyone wanting a nerdgasm, check out this article:…

I just call it a baked potato haha. Filled (sour cream, chives, bacon) is called a loaded baked potato.
-
I had to google "jacket." lol. I mean, from context, I figured it was the potato. But I'd never heard of it being called a jacket before!

Labneh is basically Greek yogurt, maybe a little thicker. I like to add 1 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder to 6-8 oz yogurt, and either sweeten it with vanilla or honey to taste. I also add in 1-2 Tbsp cashew, almond, or hazelnut butter with a half of a mashed banana (with the banana I don't need any additional sweetener).

ohmigod I'm so making that mac & cheese pie for oktoberfest this year. now, how many miles would i have to run to work that (and the märzenbier I'd drink with it) off? haha :drinker:

wait wait wait.... do you mean to tell me that there is no crust, just sauce, cheese, and pepperoni on top of bacon? I'm a pescetarian and that's making me drool. You are ... my hero.

Toasted couscous cooked in coconut oil with mushrooms, topped with a baked salmon filet, salt, pepper, and rosemary. Edited for sizing! Whoops.

Yes! This is true. So your iron rich cereals you eat with milk? Yeah, you're not getting that iron. Combine your iron-rich foods with foods high in vitamin C, which helps your body absorb iron. So squeeze a lemon on your spinach and kale salads! You can cook your green veggies and still retain the iron, just be sure to…

Gazpacho shooters- Just pour gazpacho into small clear plastic cups with a swirl of sour cream (or greek yogurt) and a little slice of avocado. Crunchy veggie tray with various dips- different flavors of hummus (try adding roasted red peppers, roasted tomatoes, olives, pine nuts, or oven roasted garlic) tapenade,…

Shoes are part of the issue. But proper stretching before and after helps a lot too. There's also toe tapping you can do seated in a chair. Just sit on the edge of a chair and tap your toes on the floor, alternating left and right as fast as you can until you can't anymore. Helps keep blood flow going to the muscles. Also,…

The FDA literally said this use of HCG is detrimental to health. I guess your beef is with them.

I'd say 400F, uncovered, stirring every 20 minutes. I mix mine with olive oil, salt, pepper, and either thyme or oregano, altho I'm liking rosemary lately. You will probably have a lot of residual water in that dish, so be careful removing it from the oven. I'd line the dish with foil to keep the peppers from caramelizing…

2 oven roasted beets in olive oil, rosemary, salt and pepper with water "sautéed" rosemary crimini mushrooms: Baked sweet potato (again, yeah. I can't get enough of these things) with the usual suspects: coconut butter, black strap molasses, salt and pepper: 320 calories 50g carbs 12g fat 7g protein 660mg sodium 23% DRI…

Fish (not shellfish, but oily fish such as salmon, tuna, sardines, mackerel and trout), avocado, coconut oil & coconut products (some people with tree nut allergies are ok with coconut, but if you don't know or aren't sure, I wouldn't mess with it), olive oil, virgin sesame oil, sunflower seed oil, safflower oil, canola…

I hear avocado is supposed to be a great substitute for mayo (lots of healthy fats and fiber). You can also try using almond or soy based products in place of the dairy ones. Unless it's cheese. Cheese and tuna are so wrong for each other. Canned tuna is also awesome tossed into a salad.

I don't think that would work, considering the whey that soaked out of it... I'm not sure how you'd go about doing that. Personally, I'd probably just go with whatever seems to be the norm for yogurt made with whatever % milkfat milk you used...?
-
No. Just don't.

Possibly gain a little weight that you'll have to work off, versus guaranteed health problems from smoking, including PAD, COPD, lung cancer, bladder cancer, kidney cancer, emphysema, CAD, atherosclerosis, arteriosclerosis, CHF, hypertension, increased risk of heart attack and stroke, thromboembolism, DVT... Not to mention…

Definitely. I love my hot yoga. But just like any exercise regimen, someone who hasn't exercised in a long time or who hasn't had a physical in over a year should get approval from their GP. I do think studios could do a lot more to teach their yogis about proper hydration, HR, and how to recognize when you should stop and…
