Glad that you're healing, Tim. You seem to be going about it in the right way, so as to not reinjure yourself. Sorry about the foot, taeliesyn. Hope that any pain goes away quickly and stays away! I know what you mean, Ceci. I keep looking at retirement advice columns hoping that they wouldn't keep telling me that I need…

Nice night tonight! Ran to trainer workout. New one today. This workout was very much TRX based. A lot of core and arm work! Very hard. Felt good by the time I got home though, so took a brief run with Fells as well. He liked that. Laura, swimming and Pilates makes a busy day! Sorry that you had to forego the massage.…

Hope you can get your run in, Laura. You can stick to your goals, AFB! Go! Go! Go! Hope everyone else is doing well. That Sherry is enjoying the beach and that Marla has less smoke and no fire. Rest day today for me. I did my stairs and I'm planning to walk the dogs tonight, but that's about it. After the weekend's word…

Well this morning I did my 11 mile run. I kept telling myself, that if I didn't finish it, then I would have to do it again. That was a big motivation for me. :) I'm now wondering if signing up for a half marathon was a good idea at all. Again, as last Sunday, I set out later than I wanted. Last week was me being lazy, but…

I have trouble sleeping directly after a workout, too, well except for yoga. Yes, unless I distract myself, I can munch all evening. Well this morning I did my 11 mile run. I kept telling myself, that if I didn't finish it, then I would have to do it again. That was a big motivation for me. :) I'm now wondering if signing…

Laura, congratulations on the smaller new clothes. Hope you enjoyed the run. I managed to get up And out this morning to the fitness class that I wanted to go to. I ran to and from it. It was very much upper body, today. Thursday class was more of a lower body workout. Now both upper and lower are sore. :) We had a flyball…

Sounds like a great day, Maureen, new shoes and swimming! Glad that you're able to increase your running mileage, Laura; that the foot is doing well. Your morning swimming sounds pretty nice, too. Congratulations on the 2 lb loss. Good going with the pizza, April! Hope your weekend is healthy, too. Finally got my car into…

Thanks!

I'm taking an unplanned rest day today because I just want to go to bed. It will be so nice to get 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep! I tried the core workout from my new book this morning. I got about halfway through it when my 15 minutes were up and I had to head to work. It took me more time than it should both because I…

I hope that it turns out well for you. I generally just run the same rail-trail, but it varies quite a lot based on the time of day. Sometimes just me, Fells, and the squirrels and bunnies. Sometimes, like last Sunday, it has lots and lots of people on it. Last Sunday was definitely bicycle day. Sometimes, mainly in May,…

Thanks so much for everyone's responses! I think that I'm going to try to add some hill type work, if I can, but make it as convienent as possible. And make sure I do downhill as well. :)

Do you get the flashing lights and slight dizziness that I got last Sunday? I'm wondering now what is was that was so affecting me. What physical symptoms have you had? I've got a similar thing with taking blood pressure medication and it changing and not changing due to my weight, so now it could be wrong.

Did you know that this is the second August 12 one you did, Laura? Running and trainer workout tonight. I'll feel good to use the muscles again! I really was bummed about missing last week. I'm going to try to make Thursday and Saturday classes this week, too. Saturday is a bit up in the air as I have a half day flyball…

Rest day today. Did my stairs, but nothing other than that. It was a long day at work today, so I never did get to the auto shop. I need to get the car there this week though.

I think that I'm still trying to get my rhythm back after all the traveling and being sick. Yesterday I was supposed to go to my training class at 9 am. When I couldn't get to sleep until 2 am and then woke at 9:30 am, I knew that wasn't going to happen. I didn't even get out to give the dogs a walk all day. The only thing…

Nice run!

Congratulations Ceci!! Nice race! Sounds like a good run Robbie, helping out a fellow runner is always good. Looks like you're getting some nice runs in Romy, and your daughter too. Congratulations on the two 60 minute runs, Andie. It took me a while to find a type of strength training I liked and felt comfortable with.…

I haven't had a chance to read up on how everyone is doing. Hopefully well. I've been sick for the past few days, the poison ivy reaction, or maybe I had shingles, got bad. Now I'm better. Fells and I got out for a 3+ mile run this morning. It felt so good to get back to exercise!

Had a hard week. After a good run last Friday, I had a flyball tournament throughout the weekend and came back from it feeling miserable. After three days sick, didn't go to work, didn't run, didn't go to my trainer workout, I stumbled back to the living yesterday and at least got some stair climbing done. This morning,…

Congratulations! You got it done and with a good time! Really great!

The Bonk Breaker was a small dense blueberry oat cake. It tasted fine and was good on my stomach and nice to have as 10 miles takes me a while. I wouldn't have wanted to try to eat it without water though. If I see it in a store I would probably buy it for future runs, but I'm not going to make an effort to order it…

Enjoy the rest day, Laura! Sounds like a really fun vacation, Sherry! I wouldn't worry too much about the exercise there as it sounds like you'll get a lot and the fun sort, just getting to and playing in the water and with the kids. I wouldn't worry too much, Jess. I've found that just eating the best that you can, most…

I did it! I'm so happy! I got on the rail-trail and ran 5.5 miles, then just walked leisurely around as I ate Bonk Breaker (from my Stride Box) and drank some water. Then I noticed that there was a ranger station right there along the rail-trail with public restrooms! Yeah! Used the rest room then ran home, I started…

Everyone else seems to be doing pretty good! I didn't get my 5 mile run in last night or this morning, so I'm going to skip it and go on to my 10 mile run tomorrow morning. The reason I didn't do the run is because I managed to get poison ivy on me somehow. It's made it difficult to sleep (I itch!!) and strangely enough my…

Sounds like you're moving again Laura. Great! Glad that you were able to get out with your friend and hope she continues. I was a little disappointed that my running with my sister during the Christmas break didn't encourage her to keep going, but also didn't expect it as it was my idea, not hers. I was glad that she was…

Great success story!

You did it! That's what matters!

Sorry I haven't been around, traveling, traveling, traveling, and when home, my work location has been changing all over the place. Had a rotten run today. The three driving vacations, to St Louis (& New Jersey), Toronto area, and Houston, one after another, in addition to work location switches in between them, have…

Had a rotten run today. The three driving vacations, to St Louis (& New Jersey), Toronto area, and Houston, one after another, in addition to work location switches in between them, have messed up my routine, food, and digestive system. I have spent too much time in the car, too much time in areas I didn't know and had…
