  • Yesterday was my rest day. I felt a little guilty having a rest day just one day after my vacation, but I just didn't get a chance to do much until late. At that point it was already well after my bedtime ... so rest day. I did eat good food and below my calories limit, so it wasn't a complete failure. Going to do a run…
  • I'm definitely up in weight. Spending many days stuck in a car, driving and eating, isn't very good for proper eating. Back now and ready to get back to normal. I have my trainer workout tonight and I plan to run to and from it.
  • Still on vacation here, but this was my stay in place day. Yesterday I drove down to Greenville, SC. Meant to get a small run in the morning, but didn't really. On Saturday night I dyed my hair. It's a lot darker than it has been and is red. Not sure if this was a good idea, but it's done, so I'll live with it for a bit.…
  • Trying to let this be my motto. On Tuesday, Thursday, and today this week I ran to the fitness studio and then a 45 minute to an hour of class or trainer workout and then ran home. On Wednesday, Friday, and tomorrow the plan is to be a little lighter. I just did a small run Wednesday morning, a long walk on Friday, and…
  • Is there any way this can be used for the 13th?
  • I agree with Laura on Tim and Ceci's runs. I barely get any speed or distance at those temps! You guys are tough!
  • Yes, I feel for you, Sherry! I have a hard time running after eating most things. I run best in the morning or in the evening if I haven't eaten. Well, except a banana on a piece of toast with a little peanut butter seems to work if I have to have something before I run. My stomach seems to have more trouble when it's…
  • Got my 1.5 miles to my trainer workout last night, and then had to come home in a thunderstorm! So, I ran about a mile getting soaked, then stopped in a 7-11 and bought some chocolate milk to have with a banana before I went to bed. I appologised for giving her a soping wet $5 bill, but she just nodded and gave me my…
  • Got up and out and did a 4 mile run this morning with Fells! It feels good to start the day right! Good going, April! Enjoy your trainer session, Laura!
  • Did my run to trainer workout and back tonight. Have been doing fine in regard to food for the past two days. Which is good because I really need to make up for the weekend! Stay strong all with all the seasonal temptations!
  • Finished my 22+ miles/week for June successfully and now plan to ease up a little bit, just a little bit, through July and then ramp up again in August. On Friday I got an 8 mile run in, early in the morning, before everything else got started. I also ate well within my calories that day. Then I went to a flyball…
  • Glad you survived Arthur, Maureli, and that your power is back, but sorry that it took down your apple tree. The photos I saw from my friends in Halifax and Fredericton look pretty extreme! It seems like it hit North Carolina, skipped us, and then took aim at the Maritimes. Hope everything is as back to normal as it could…
  • Good to hear from you Ines. Sounds like the gym is a good fit for you. Hope it continues to work out well. Enjoy your Jason vacation, Laura. Nothing is stopping you from doing some strength work. You can do whatever you want this week! Glad that things are working out for you, too, Sherry. The gym sounds great. I ran to…
  • Start and continue a half marathon plan Get to at least one class per week (that I'm in town) in addition to my trainer workout

  • I don't know what I'm doing today. Yesterday I didn't run to the trainer workout. I was running late getting home from work and by the time I changed and fed the dogs, I would only have made it to the workout on foot by running as fast as I possibly could. Even that was risking being quite late. And it was 90+F out. So I…
  • Well, I got 91 miles in, in June. I'm happy. My current plan is to run less than that in July, but increase my strength work, and run more than that in August, continuing the strength work, and be prepared for the half marathon in mid-September.

  • Sounds like you're doing great as it is. Just keep going. At this point, don't worry about speed, just keep putting in the time and try to go just a bit more, a bit longer, or a bit more difficult as far as hills. Don't forget to take rest day and easy weeks. One suggestion I got from an experienced runner was to slowly…
  • I am, sort of. During the Spring I was increasing my long runs to get a good base, when I suddenly decided to sign up for a virtual half. I ran that, by myself, on June 1st. So, that was my first half, but I didn't have a real training program and no one else ran it with me. Now I've signed up for the Bird in the Hand half…
  • Fell asleep at my computer yesterday, at about 7 pm, so lay down on my couch "for a minute" and woke up at 11 pm. I went out to a place that was still lit up and active and Fells and I ran around it enough times to get in 3 miles. We ended up out there past midnight, but I still count it as June. :) Tonight I have my…

  • Hope everyone had a nice weekend. On Saturday I went to a dog event with my dogs near my mother's house. I got there at 1 pm, but we didn't get the chance to run until about 6 pm. Neither dog qualified, but they did okay. I stayed Saturday night at my mother's. Her birthday was last Wednesday. My nephew's birthday is this…
  • I'm more confident now. Only need 3 miles more running to complete this month's challenge. I should get it in tonight, then on to the half marathon plan (with an interruption in two weeks for my drive to and from Houston, TX). I'm ordering my new tank tonight!! As soon as I see how the rest do.
  • I think that the answer to your question is yes and no. MFP gives you an average. Even two people living very similar lives (working a sit down job, taking care of one child, living and taking care of the same size house) can have vastly different calorie burns. Both would considered themselves sedentary. One might figit…
  • I can't answer the question, but I think how long your current long runs are, how much running you're doing per week, would make quite a difference. If you're doing 11:10 consistently with average 8 mile long run and 20 mpw versus average 15 mile long run and 40 mpw, I would guess would lead to different advice.
  • I'm on schedule to complete the challenge successfully, but feel that I'm pushing it for the sake of finishing the challenge rather than because it's good for me. I'd rather start my half marathon plan. Can we get a group agreement that 3+ weeks is enough for this month? Do people want to take a break, a rest week, or keep…
  • I haven't really posted here much. Still running. I'm trying to combine two goals, which are similar, but not the same. I promised to run at least 22 miles per week through June and I want to start a half marathon training plan. I'm doing a combination of both until the end of the month and then switching to just the half…
  • Good morning! I was running late this morning, but decided to run anyway and then just stay later at work. It was hot and humid enough this morning that I didn't want to worry about what it would be like tonight. So Fells and I ran our normal 4 mile route, then I changed and went to work. Yes, Laura, that time I forgot my…
  • Hi everyone! Sorry about the drivers license thing, Sherry. I feel for you. I once left for a dog event, 5 hours drive away, without my wallet. I didn't find out until an hour into the drive. To make it worse, that day my ez-pass (that is designed to automatically pay my tolls on the highway) stopped working (also my…
