  • I don't know about anyone else, sometimes I think it's just a personal thing for me, but I can't drink water before I eat. It makes me nauseous and I either don't end up eating or I throw up what I ate afterwards. It's always been this way for me. I was in the Air Force a million years ago and in basic training they would…
  • Oh....one day I want to say my pants fell down while I was running on the treadmill! LOL! Congrats! :drinker:
  • Mine is public. Some days I do well and others not so much. But, I think it's a personal choice either way. I do love the public ones since it gives a newbie like me ideas that I wouldn't normally think of without others' input. :)
  • Wow! Just.......WOW!!! You look amazing........and what a good friend you have! :drinker:
  • Try this one, too: http://lowfatcooking.about.com/od/fishandseafood/Low_Fat_Fish_and_Seafood_Recipes.htm
  • I sent you a friend request, as well! We can do this together!
  • Right! This is day 4 for me and I don't know the calories and stuff of the normal things I eat off the top of my head yet. I will come here and log everything in, look at the calories, fat, protein, carbs, etc., then make adjustments if needed. THEN I go prepare and eat it. That way I can "fix" the problem before I eat it.…
  • I'm doing 1200 calories a day, as well. I don't know about you, but I've noticed that I can do 1200 calories in one sitting if I'm not thinking about it. I always eat at least half of my exercise calories back just because I'm starving after I work them off. Find what works for you and don't worry - at this few calories…
  • Welcome! Sending a friend request now. I don't think it matters whether we need to lose 15 lbs. or 150 lbs., it's hard to do alone. We're all in this together! :flowerforyou:
  • It's day 4 for me and I don't think any one of us would turn down a new friend! Welcome to the Club! Friend request sent. :flowerforyou:
  • My parents did the same thing. My mom would load our plates and hand them to us. We'd eat it all before we were allowed to leave the table - unless we were sick. And, God love her, she always thought a brownie, or a cookie, or a piece of cake with milk could solve all the worlds problems. LOL! I've started using smaller…
  • NOW, I'm really ready. I thought I was. Really. I've been counting calories and working out and doing what I'm "supposed" to do. But, now I WANT it. I really and truly WANT it! Thank you - that was a kick in the pants.
  • Come on in! I started 4 days ago because I figured if I waited until New Year's, I'd just keep waiting. There's TONS of us waiting for you in here! :flowerforyou:
  • Muscle weighs more than fat anyway, so if you're losing inches and made it to a 3/4 that is AMAZING!!! Good for you!
  • I'm new, too, but most of my friends weigh in weekly. I can't do it every day - I'll have my first weigh-in tonight, just because I want to see what I've done in the last 4 days, but I'm sure I'll be doing it weekly as well. I don't think I'll have the courage to look at the fluctuations if I do it daily. Don't get…
  • Congrats to you in your sexy *kitten* nines!!! LOL! :flowerforyou:
  • Bread, coffee, and wine. I limit my bread to once a week, and I'll have a glass of wine while I'm cooking dinner 2 or 3 times a week. Coffee is an every morning thing, and I won't apologize to myself for it. I've switched to sweet 'n low instead of sugar and I use the fat-free hazelnut creamer from coffee mate. That 35…
  • I don't use a kids plate, but I do use the salad plate instead of the dinner plate. It's much smaller, so I can have a full plate of food without it feeling like I'm giving something up! Great idea! :flowerforyou:
  • I don't have any exercise DVD's and can't see myself spending the money on them - I'm a single mom on a very fixed income. I walk my 2 dogs (three times a day) as fast as they want to walk. Okay, they walk me, but keeping up with them is exercise! Haha! And I've taken to running the stairs. I live in an apartment complex,…
  • Someone said that to me on day 1, and I tried it. It's day 3 and I use the salad plates instead of the big dinner plates for every meal now. It works wonders! I still get a plate "full" of food and it makes me feel like I'm eating more. :) I also cut my food into smaller bites, so I actually get more bites with the same…
  • I used to run 6-8 miles a day - it was 20 years ago, but I did. There were days when the run felt like nothing, and there were days when I couldn't go 3 without crying and quitting. And I ran for YEARS. It's not about your size. And it's not about your motivation. Sometimes running sucks. Sometimes it's just a bad day.…
  • It's coffee for me. Every morning after that first cup I'm off and running. Good luck, girl! I know it's got to be frustrating.
  • Oh, thank God!!! I was beginning to think I was the only one! I started this 3 days ago. I'm 5'3" and 130 lbs. My goal weight right now is 115. It might go lower as I reach it, but we'll see when I get there. I have friends who tell me things like "Oh, shut up.....I hate you. You're so skinny." and "PLEASE, you're…
  • LMAO!!! That's right! Yours, mine and most.....my mom told me when I was 15 and had just bought a new pair of jeans - I had moved up to a size 13 - that "Your sister is the pretty one. You're really smart, though. Just use your head and you'll be fine." That has always stuck with me. It kills me because I still believe it…
  • You look FREAKING AMAZING!!! That's unbelieveable! I'm so excited for you - what an accomplishment. I just started - this is day 3 for me. I only have 15 pounds to lose, but believe it or not at 5'3" and 130, I'm clinically obese. My doctor told me to start eating right and exercising and get rid of this belly fat or it…
  • Woot! Woot! YAY for you! You just lost (at 60 lbs.) a 7-yr-old!!! Seriously - it's like you were carrying around a 2nd grader for years. THAT'S SO FREAKING AMAZING!!! You go!
  • YAY for you! Tha'ts awesome! I sit at a desk all day and haven't exercised in years, either, so I know exactly where you are. And I ran up and down the stairs in my house for 15 minutes today. I honestly thought I was going to pass out before it was over. But, I'm SO proud of myself! Keep it up, girl!
  • Okay, I don't normally react this way. I try to have a calm head about things. But, I have to say it - I agree with NightOwl. That was my first thought when I read what you wrote. Who are THEY to say anything about you? I know it's your family, but that makes it even MORE insulting. I'm so sorry they did that. And I'm…
  • I use fat free hazelnut CoffeeMate - LOVE the stuff. And for a tablespoon, it's only 35 cals and 5 carbs. It's worth it for me in that one or two cups of coffee in the morning. I've never tried the sugar free, but my sister says they taste the same.
