  • If it happens, it happens. I don't think others should have an opinion on whether they think this was the correct "place" to find someone. Good for your friends! I hope they're happy together for the rest of their lives. :drinker:
  • Why don't you explain it exactly the way you just explained it to us? :flowerforyou:
  • That's me! I'm 5'3", 128 lbs., with no muscle at all. I just started lifting weights today (at the gym with my sister) and I'm so glad I did. Thank goodness everyone at the gym was nice to me and waited for me to slowly lift 30 lbs with my skinny little arms! :blushing: I'm working on it!
  • I don't ever pay any attention to that little "If every day were like today...." thing. Just do the best you can, and the weight WILL come off.
  • I'm getting to the point where I only want to eat what I cook myself. No boxed foods, fast foods, etc. Bleh...
  • I have shin splints and it happens to me if I don't warm up well. I will actually start off on the treadmill at a very slow pace - 1.5-2 mph and do that for about 5 minutes, then go up to 2.5 mph for 5 minutes, then 3 mph for 5 minutes and so on until I get to my desired speed. I've noticed that my shin splints don't hurt…
  • I can put my socks on and take them off just using my toes. (I learned that little trick when I was a kid - my friend broke both her arms in a car wreck. I was being silly trying to show her how many things she could do without her hands! lol) And I can tie a cherry stem into a knot with my tongue.
  • I love, love, LOVE Scooby! He's my FAVE! But, I'm a purest - I love the animated ones. The Sarah Michelle ones are good, but the cartoon is true art, in my humble opinion.
  • Count me in! I need a good, swift kick in the behind! I'm in a better frame of mind lately, but it certainly wouldn't hurt me to be pushed. And I'll be a good girl and push back. :)
  • We love you, too, hunny! :flowerforyou:
  • I don't log my cleaning because I was doing that prior to joining MFP. But, I'm certainly not going to tell someone else not to. I'm worried about my weight loss and health and I'm going to let everyone else worry about their's. I did log painting the walls in my dining room and living room, but that is something I very…
  • I am so glad you're my friend! :flowerforyou: I can't even imagine what a nightmare losing your daughter was for you. I'll be thinking of you this weekend.
  • A new tattoo would be great, too!
  • Being the girly-girl that I am - I LOVE SHOES!!! lol! I see a new pair in my very near future!
  • Are you KIDDING me?!? WHO the HELL says that to someone else??? Did they have parents? My mother would have knocked me so far into next week you guys would have NEVER caught up with me. Geez.....
  • Like you said - you're sore from the squats yesterday. You probably would have had a better time if you weren't. Hang in there - you need the strength training and you need the walk/run time. You'll get used to it and be more faster and have more endurance the more you do. :flowerforyou:
  • Nope. You said that YOU didn't want to die or have some weird health issues because of YOUR weight. You didn't say she was fat, nor did you tell her that she needed to lose weight or that she should. If she internalized it, that's on her. You gave good reasons for why YOU want to be healthier. And hopefully she took some…
  • My pitt bull, Tate. She's been socialized to the nines and is about as ferocious as a daisy and she's more likely to knock you down and lick you to death than actually hurt you. But she looks scary and it tends to make others "jog" to the opposite side of the road. :)
  • Drink up! lol! :drinker:
  • I'm so glad I ran across this thread. I've been thinking about it, too, but was too scared to try it because it looks SO intense. I think I'm going to try Power 90 first, though. Thanks guys!
  • 1. My eyes. They're bright blue and I can't tell you how many times someone asks me if I have blue contacts - I just smile and say "no". Not that I can take credit for them - my whole family has them. 2. My hair is great. And my niece just colored it for me (she's in cosmetology school and needed a guinea pig) and I love…
  • The Volkswagon-Darth Vadar commercial was my favorite and the 2nd runner up was the one where the guy saves the beaver and the beaver returns the favor! The commercials are my favorite part of the game. I missed a few of them, though.
  • Right! I have over 1300 calories left for the day. I'm going to try to keep my sodium under control, have a few goodies, and have a good time with my friends! :)
  • This! I would have eaten half. But, I'm not one to say "no" to myself. It doesn't work for me if I tell myself I absolutely can't have something. Portion control and smart choices (low cal syrup, etc) are the key! :)
  • I agree completely! I guess I'm just lucky. I am a single mom who buys the same things I've always purchased at the store. Along with, now, some of the "better" things. My son finds that he now likes brown rice better than white, that he loves salmon and other fish, chicken (of course), and he hasn't missed the red meat…
  • There is something in there about moving boxes that you can use. And you can log shoveling snow, as well. :)
  • I did the same thing. I lost 6.5 lbs in the first week. Then.......nothing. Zip. Nada. For two whole weeks. Now, it's coming off slower, but I've noticed that my clothes are fitting better and I've lost almost 8.5 lbs. I'm losing at an average of a 1/2 lb per week. Hang in there - it WILL come off. :flowerforyou:
  • I think it has a lot to do with self-confidence, as well. I'm single, but I've noticed that I'm getting more "looks" than I was. Before, it was as if I was invisible - but it might have been the vibes I was putting out there. The "I'm gross...don't look at me" thing. Now, I'm thinking "I'm looking good - hey...take a look…
  • #1 is my favorite - and seriously - isn't that the Best Friend Rule? :drinker: and me and a friend were just talking about #2 today....we'll be arguing like crazy with a boyfriend/husband/whatever and realize halfway in that we're wrong and they're right - and KEEP RIGHT ON ARGUING because we're absolutely not going to…
  • I don't know how emphatically I can express this.....do NOT use Ephedra. It used to make my heart race, as well. My blood pressure went sky high and I HAD A STROKE using Ephedra. I was lucky - the right side of my face was paralyzed and I couldn't speak - I got all function back after months of physical and occupational…
