  • Having had a couple of crashes with plenty of road rash, one of which resulted in damaged helmet, I wouldn't ride without one. I've known people to have crashes at 30 MPH on road bikes and survive with a helmet. I also knew a guy who had a low speed fall w/o a helmet and he's dead. 'Nuff said.
