Hiking poles, yak traks for my shoes, cross country skiing. There are some nice sunny winter days, and if you dress for the weather no reason not to go outside. When the weather is bad, I plan to do a DVD workout or ride my bike indoors on the trainer. And there is always snow shoveling! I am determined to continue making…

I make them in a bean pot, similar to this recipe: newenglandrecipes.org/html/baked-beans.html I prefer to use kidney beans. I make a half recipe (1 pound of dried beans). They freeze very well.

I agree, you did a good thing. I guess you know going forward not to mention this stuff to your Mom!

I have an HRM, and I do use that a lot to get a more accurate calorie burn for steady state cardio. As far as fitness trackers for day-to-day things, the deal I made with myself is if I stall out on my last 10-15 pounds, I will get one. I think the last few pounds will probably be the toughest to lose, and if a tracker…

I'm in the same boat. My Fall/Winter clothes are large/XL, and I'm now a medium. I don't mind the size larges for around the house, but the XL's are starting to look pretty silly. Not a bad problem to have! Still an adjustment when shopping--I look at size large things and then have to move on over to medium.

I have insomnia too. I agree with audio books/podcasts/old sitcoms on TV (nothing loud or violent). I find if I can focus on listening, my mind stops spinning and I will fall asleep. I have had some success with Valerian root extract. It's as least as good as any prescription things I've tried, and non-habit forming.

They do have buttermilk powder on amazon, I have bought it before. It's great for dressing, marinating chicken, and in baked goods. If you store it in a sealed container in the refrigerator, it lasts a very long time! If you are in the US, Walmart carries it in the baking aisle at a good price.

Were you my neighbor? I totally used to do that when I was in my 20's. I had a friend who was an on-call tow truck driver, so I would regularly have him flatbed my car home after a night of drinking. Easier than trying to find a ride to go pick up your car the next morning!

What a great calculator! Have it bookmarked. Thanks so much for creating it!

When even your stylist gives up on trying to straighten it! He just said honey, I'm sorry, that look is not going to work for you. I have baby fine super curly hair. Reading this thread and agreeing with all of it!

I can't mix whey powder with milk, it upsets my stomach. But it's fine with almond milk!

I use a reel mower, and have a pretty big lawn, so I log it. Usually takes me about an hour and burns between 500-700 calories (per HRM), depending on how long the grass is.

I hike trails alone all the time. Try to vary your routine as far as when, where, and your walking route. Some trails I walk are pretty busy even during the week. Others I am the only car in the parking lot. I have never had a problem either way. Be aware of what is going on around you, and always go with your gut feeling.…

I eat a lot of home made soups. Very easy to make a good tasting low cal soup, with lots of veggies. Bean soups are awesome too!

I like Constant Comment (black tea with orange and spice), Earl Grey (black tea with bergamot), and Vanilla Chai. All Bigelow brand, and all come in decafe. For herbal tea, I like mint (any brand), and Sleepy Time (Celestial Seasonings). You can buy boxed tea samplers, those are great for trying things out without the…

Make your own and freeze it. If you aren't comfortable making your own dough, you can buy it refrigerated. You can build your recipe on MFP. My home made pizza comes out to 292 calories per slice (1/8 of a pie), and that's with mozz and ricotta. A tip for reheating--thaw in the microwave, and then heat in a cast iron pan…

If I'm going to really taste it, Hellman's regular. If it's in a salad of some type, Hellman's olive oil version. It's not bad, but not as good as the real thing!
-
I make that one all the time too! I add all kinds of veg and sometimes ham. It freezes really well!

If you are tenacious you can make home made tomato paste! Basically evaporating down, and down more, and more, until all you have left is concentrated tomato goodness. It's an all day project, but a good way of using a large amount of tomatoes and storing in a small space.

Bottom line, do what you enjoy! I really enjoy cycling. Glad it does burn quite a few calories while I'm at it.
-
You are cooler when cycling due to the breeze from moving at 14+ mph! Great in hotter weather. My guess as to why you are more tired running is that running is weight bearing exercise, whereas cycling is not. I can cycle for over 4 hours, but ask me to run for 10 minutes and I'm done!

Have been vaping for almost four years. Was smoking over a pack a day for 30+ years. I don't think vaping has had any effect on my weight either way.

Deviled! So many ways to make them, I'm sure you can find one that you like.

I have had back issues for about 25 years as the result of a car accident. I have been diagnosed with bulging/torn/degenerated discs, arthritis, bone spurs--basically my lower back is shot. Cycling seems to work best for me. I can ride my bike as long as 4 hours with no ill effects. Just another option to consider!

I make my own. One bar grated soap (I use Fels Naptha, but you can use whatever you like), 1 cup borax, 1 cup washing soda (different from baking soda). Very cheap to make. There are recipes for a liquid version as well.

I had that issue when I first started losing. Loose skin on my legs, bumpy textured, almost like there was space underneath? Especially noticeable right over my knees. It was awful. Glad to say it has resolved itself now. I do bike a lot, and now my legs are pretty much muscular, but even around the knee area, no more…

I figure mine by 100 gram servings. For example, if the whole thing weighs 1234 grams, it would be 12.34 100 gram servings. I find 100 grams is closer to an actual serving size in most cases, and so gives me a better idea of whether or not it will fit in my calorie allowance.

I've been at this over 6 months, and here are mine: 1. Unsweetened Almond Milk 2. Protein Powder 3. Coca Cola! (not diet) 4. Whole Wheat Fig Newtons 5. Olive Oil Runner up: 6. Popcorn (Unpopped) The first two, I have a protein shake each morning. Coke I have a couple times per week, but have always had it since I started.…

I have a betta too! In a 10-gallon planted aquarium. Planning to get some ghost shrimp at some point and perhaps one nerite snail.

1. My cast iron skillet. It was my grandmother's, and I'll take it over modern non-stick any day! 2. My Wusthof knives I have a Kitchenaid stand mixer, which I love as well, but I don't use it nearly as much as I use the other two things.
