The Misfit Shine can be attached to your shoe (or worn on a necklace). I have heard of people using their Fitbit flex on an ankle although it's not recommended by Fitbit. There are also some trackers that attach to the upper arm, not sure of the name.

I use MapMyHike to track distance, but use a HRM to track calories burned. The app does overestimate calories burned by quite a bit, at least for me. This is true for walking/hiking and also for cycling.

I use EAS Complete Protein. It's easily available (Walmart), cheap, and mixes well. I like that it also has calcium, fiber, and vitamins.

I hike, cycle and this winter I'm going to do some cross country skiing. I keep on hiking all winter, I use trekking poles and traction spikes on my shoes. I have a bike trainer for indoors, but I really would rather be outside. I agree that snow shoveling is a great workout!

You can lose just fine without exercise by just having a calorie deficit! I use it to make chili and tacos. In really spicy dishes you can't tell it from hamburger. I don't eat it often, but it's cheap and doesn't spoil so a good thing to have around for the day before grocery shopping.

What has helped me a lot are Superfeet insoles. You can get them on Amazon. If you have high arches, the "green" version works great. I put them in all my shoes. I also do the stretches and icing. I am now able to walk 5 miles again and feel OK the next day.

I am the same way. I don't run, I cycle. The day of a really long ride, sometimes I'm not hungry. The next day I'm famished. I switched to the TDEE -20% method, and that has been working out much better. I feel like I can fuel my workouts, and then the next day I can eat enough to be happy with it.

I work out at home, or preferably outdoors. If the weather is really THAT bad, I wouldn't drive to the gym anyway.

I would. And then I would have the house/room blessed by the denomination of my choice, just for additional peace of mind. When you really think about it, people have died throughout the years in countless locations that you visit on a daily basis, you just don't know about it.

Another 1800-2000 calorie a day person. I am losing--slowly, which is fine with me. I exercise quite a bit, and if I don't eat enough I run out of energy.

I just got myself some insulated bike tights. Am hoping to keep riding into December if the weather cooperates. If it doesn't I have a trainer set up in the basement. It's boring but better than nothing!
