Yes especially after 45 years, menopause where all your weight settles in your waist. No matter how much I diet, count calories and exercise, I still have a belly.

I agree with you, I didn't realize how sedentary I really, really was until I bought my FITBIT 1. On a typical day for me, (outside of my daily 1 hour power walks) I was only logging 1.25 miles (4,000 steps.) No wonder the 20 lbs I kept off for 10 years *snuck* up on me (along with portion distortion.) I same for an hour…

Not sure what is up as I have the same issue BUT for me, one of the posters on here is correct. I don't always accurately log my calories eg. meaning I may be eating more than my 1200 and sometimes I eat less than when I exercise. I tested this theory yesterday. I measured and weighed everything I ate and then tracked it.…

I do and yesterday, I did nothing. I still logged calories but I didn't care. I am so frustrated. Being over 50 is a horrible time to try to lose 20 pounds. I am eating less, weighing and measuring everything yet my metabolism just isn't working.

To each their own. Seems to be a lot of drama and judgement on this blog most of the time. If something is working well for you, who cares what anyone thinks. My Doctor suggested that I "eat clean", I do 50% of the time, and do at least one Vegan meal a day, but due to time, the amount of hours I work per day and the fact…

I have that EXACT same rower!! Same with Frank Underwood (House of Cards reference!)
-
I row once a week, spin and run the other four days. I have a water rower, it's really nice and I can now row faster than I can run! I love it!

My ex-husband did that to me, constantly critical of my looks and weight. I was fat because I was unhappy and obviously I was making him unhappy too looking the way I did so. I went on a diet, I dumped 180 lbs, plus I lost 40 lbs so there you go. I lost weight = 220 lbs!!! Unfortunately, I had a health problem in my lady…

Yeah, I use Map my Ride, or Map my Fitness for this very reason. Fitbit only counts "steps."

CONGRATS Kim!

This sounds silly but it works for me. I make sure that I eat before I go. Then when I feel tempted, the malls here in San Diego where there is fast food have to post nutrition information. I look at the calorie counts of the food I am smelling and I walk away. Works like a charm.

I ate and drank 1900 calories yesterday and then burned 750 from spinning and walking 4 miles. My calorie goal was 1200 so MFP showed me that I "over ate"...

Lowfat Greek plain yogurt is good for you as it is low in sugar and has protein. It's the crappy overly sugary "non-fat" fruit and flavored yogurts that make you fat. Look at the labels when you buy yogurt and do a comparison. Sugar is more deadly to a diet, too much as is not good either. 6 ounces of Whole Foods Lowfat…

Sad, I have asthma and I run distance. My issue is that I love food. Anyhow, my doctor is treating me with medicine and I have a rescue inhaler. I refuse to stop exercising, it's the only thing that keeps me sane. Can you swim? Swimming is very good for the lungs and can help with managing asthma.

Yep, most missed her point here. Anyhow! Good for you! I wish you all the best!

Two tablespoons of half and half. I only drink one cup - no sweetner:wink:

My "previous administration" used to make fun of me for being (66.5 inches and 150 lbs), calling me "baby fat" and making fun of my stomach. Well unfortunately, I am 50, I can't lose weight if my life depended on it because I had a hyster whatever and went through menopause. You get fat, my Doctor told me "good luck"…

I work at a Health Care company who specializes in assisting Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetics manage their disease. Type 2 diabetes is growing in epidemic proportions in this country where we super size EVERYTHING. The burden on the health care system is becoming overwhelming, with we the tax payer paying for it one way or…

It is funny!

Wow, people are rude on here, this person was asking for advice not to be e-beetoch sl*pped. My .02, is the similar. Just keep your thoughts to yourself, unless she asks for your help you shouldn't discuss her weight or eating habits with her. All the best

Having been a "real runner" for 35 years, I welcome anyone who has the discipline to lace up a pair of running shoes and put one foot in front of the other. So what if it is on a treadmill? They are doing something good for them and making progress. I do interval training on a treadmill at least four times a month to…

I drive a 2008 Ford Escape with a cracked windshield... My other mode of transportation are my feet. I am actually thinking of walking to and from work once a week.

Looking good lady!!! woo whoooo! :)

I spit out my diet coke when I saw this!

Hi! I would love more friends there too for the same reasons. Please note that I am off "Fitbit" while I travel up North this week to do the Bay to Breakers Run on Sunday - but I am tracking Mon-Weds of this week: public url: //www.fitbit.com/user/2D37N4 My name is Patricia

It happens to me twice a week, I underestimate. Eating out is a killer so I have decided to stop eating our for lunch every day. I cut down to 2 days a week and go on long runs on the days that I do. I think that bringing my own breakfast and lunches to work on a more frequent basis will make a difference.

I mean this in the kindest way possible. There is a TON of information out there not only on MFP but also on Google if you did searches. How much are you really working out? How intense are your workouts? These matter because if you are like me where you are burning 400-600 calories per workout your calorie needs are going…

Thank you for the encouragement. Congrats! :) you can definitely see the difference
