Margarine typically has chemicals in it (hydrogen-, hence hydrogenated vegetable oil, partially hydrogenated fat etc.) I believe that's where the "unhealthy" factor comes in. Since butter is a natural food, it may turn out to be better for you in the long run. I'll add you! The more support, the better!

Just 10lbs left and I'll meet my year-end goal for 2013, but I am REALLY shooting for 15.

I'm very active! I'll add you!

Great progress! I'm in the same boat. The weight is coming off SOOOO much slower these days, but I'm determined!

My motivation comes purely from the fact that I've seen what not being motivated has done to my body. I have tried unsuccessfully to lose weight sustainably for more than 5yrs. I've lost weight during that period, but it has always been a yo-yo cycle and I never embraced healthy eating and exercise until this time around.…

^^^YES!!!! This too!. Hahahahahahaha

Both Thanksgiving AND Christmas, I'm gonna get up early to do a killer workout at the gym and then, I am going to eat whatever I want, with NO restriction lol. I'm not gonna stuff myself, but I'm going to indulge in whatever strikes my fancy on those days. I'm going to log it too (as I do all of my cheat days). However, I…

Hey hun! I too have battled with yo-yo dieting, but 6 months ago, I'd finally had enough of the fad diets and shortcuts. I am aiming to lose 110 pounds in total. (60 more to go whoo-hoo!) I haven't tried Insanity yet, mainly because I have a bum knee/ankle and I'm scared I may injure myself. It is on my list of fitness…

Pretty much anything that tastes good..which is why I'm even on MFP lol But at the top of my list would have to be: Ice Cream. Smh, especially if it's specialty ice cream. Damn you Haagen Dazs!!! Cheese Puffs or any type of chip Trader Joe's Cookie & Cocoa Swirl Butter Bacon (I could seriously eat an entire pack in one…

Great progress!!!

Prior to starting my weight loss journey, I'd gotten as big as a size 20 and was still squeezing into size 18 clothing because I refused to buy any clothes larger than an 18 or XL/1X, so now all of the clothing that I have still fits...even after losing 50lbs. Well, they don't really fit, (most of it is starting to look…

You definitely need the strap for accuracy, and you need to place it on your chest, just underneath your pecs. (my Polar HRM actually won't even display any stats at all unless the strap is used.) The actual watch is just the display, while the strap and HRM piece are the "computer". So for it to be effective, you'll need…

I'm going to add you now! :-) :-)

I use the NuvaRing and it's the ONLY type of birth control that causes me zero side effects. It doesn't seem to hinder the weight loss, & it allows me to control my periods. I've been taking it on and off for about 4yrs now. It's an all around win for me. As far as what you should do...if you are experiencing pain, you…

I am a fan of moderate carb dieting and carb-cycling, but find Atkins to be too restrictive and do think that you may find it hard to stick to it without getting bored if you don't eat meat at all. In the Induction phase of Atkins you won't be able to eat beans or soy at all....just veggies, cheese and eggs. So most of…

^^^Pretty much. Although, I do tend to struggle to eat back enough of them, I like being able to rely on my workouts to eat a little extra if I'm hanging out w/friends or going to a party etc. As folks said above, MFP is designed to allow you to lose without exercising, so eating back what you've earned shouldn't throw you…

I started (I mean seriously, like once and for all started), at the beginning of May 2013, so it's been almost 6 months. I'm about 10lbs shy of where I wanted to be by this time, but as long as the scale is moving in the right direction, I'm not complaining! :-) Best of luck in your journey!

Fantastic progress!!!!

I am not having the surgery, but I seriously thought about it! If all had gone as originally planned, I would have had the surgery sometime this past April. In any case, I am wishing you the best of luck in this journey! Feel free to add me as well!!

It's probably the MOST important thing in my life right now. I want to be married. Period. The draw for marriage to me is lifetime companionship. I understand that you can have that without the "hassle" of marriage, but if you're going to be around anyway, why not make it legally legitimate? Also, it's important for me to…

I try my hardest to drink it plain (or w/lemon) and at room temp. I often infuse it with fruits/veggies (cucumbers, mint, grapefruit, strawberries, basil, rosemary). However, when I'm really craving a different flavor, I will certainly use Crystal Light or Mio to change it up.

I LOVE my back to booty ratio!

I use a Polar FT4 HRM as well and I think the HRMs are about as accurate as it can get. Before I began using one, I thought that I was doing MAJOR work in the gym and it turned out I wasn't lol. (The gym's machines are pretty inaccurate as well.) I find that MFP's estimate are very high, so I usually just tweak the time…

I will be the first to tell you that alcohol is my "thing" & I couldn't care less who judges me for it. Before starting to lose weight, I drank (cocktail or wine) at least 4-5 nights/wk. I've always felt as if one should keep something "bad" as a regular part of their diet when they are trying to lose weight...just to…

Amazing progress!!!! Whoop whoop for you!

Great job! You look good!

^^^THIS! I do it while I'm in the bathroom...Or when I lay down at night to go to sleep. I tend to eat the same thing frequently however, so it's not much of a hassle for me.

Bad breath and lack of ambition!

I like the Peter Pan Whipped PB becuase it has 1/3 less sugar (since I tend to watch carb intake too), but still contains the "good stuff". However, I typically just buy whatever type of natural peanut butter I can. I'm okay to sacrifice my cals for PB b/c the benefits of it outweigh the cons in my opinion. Hope this helps!
