I'm taking a Spring semester class that will focus on both cardio and weight lifting. I'm super pumped about increasing my endurance and learning how to lift heavy. Pretty much four months, twice a week. I'm still scared, though, because I used to FEAR gym classes in high/middle school.

Bacon, eggs and veggies (usually asparagus, red pepper, onions, mushrooms). Every morning. For some reason, I never tire of it. Down 45 lbs from my highest.

Nope. I'm hosting a bit of an untraditional dinner today with just my mom, fiance, and myself. Steak, Mashed potatoes, and lots of delicious veggie sides. Chocolate and fruit plate for desert. The only way I'll go over is if I splurge and go grab some egg nog.....

Also, C25K is pretty awesome if you're interested in picking up running. There are lots of free apps for smart phones.

Oh Jeez, you didn't ruin anything. Stop eating those work sweets now. Right now. And move forward. Mistakes happen. Just try to make them happen less :)

I just got engaged on the 15th. I don't know if we're going to do a wedding or not - maybe just a court house thing and a reception party with close friends and family. Or maybe run off and elope somewhere exotic? Anyways, I want to incorporate a modest white dress somehow. Something like this:…

Really great advice NaturalinCO! Water has saved me from many a boredom-induced-binge-fest :) Another option is to take a walk/run or hit the gym if you're free. I find that takes away my urge to mindlessly eat.

Thanks for the responses. I tried the squeaky toy idea - but she just ended up lunging at me LOL Maybe if I can find another runner with a dog, she'd be more interested. She always seems more motivated when there's another dog up the road.

Thanks! I'm considering taking a lifting class at school in the spring term. I'll try to find this book for the time being.

I think you may have misunderstood me, I was expecting it to be hard, and was consequently surprised when I wasn't getting out of breath and sweaty. I suspect I just wasn't doing it properly.

Train/socialize your dog or walk her in areas away from other dogs - she could probably use walking more often. I really enjoy the exercise I get with my dog - she has been doing everyday of C25K with me :P Feel free to talk on your phone but don't be one of those people that tune the noises around you completely out. It's…

C25K all the way! It's a 9 week interval running program that gradually increases your endurance and stops you from over exerting yourself in the beginning (so you don't get burnt out or discouraged). I'm in week 5 and just hit the point where I realized I can run without getting so out of breath I have to stop. Check out…

Not eating out of "boredom".

My heaviest was ~220 lbs (maybe a couple of pounds heavier). My lightest was somewhere in the 170's maybe? I am currently sitting just above 180. My goal is 145 - a healthy BMI that I probably haven't seen since middle school.

So I have a modified approach to the Paleo style of eating. I eat meat, veggies, and fruit without having to worry about portion control, because the diet does it for you. It's very hard not be to satiated on a protein/fiber heavy diet and I find myself eating much less of more high quality foods. I consume dairy,…

Great job! What I've found is that everybody has a different technique that works for them. Glad you found yours. Good luck, stick with it, have fun!

Today, on Week 4 Day 1 of C25K, I realized I can run. Such a crazy revelation. I can run, and I will run. And soon I'll start running further and longer...and try to beat my best times...and run a 5k without walking some of it like I did on my 1st. Super proud!
-
Goal by the end of the year is to be 175 lbs (down from 220 in the summer) - or less! I also hope to complete the C25K program. I've been repeating weeks until I feel comfortable keeping that weeks pace, then I move to the next week. I'm in the middle of week 4, leaving me 5 weeks of training to do in 7 weeks.

I can run so much better and without losing my breath.....so I can't use that as an excuse to stop running anymore :P

No food rewards for me - I'm purposefully disassociating food from rewards. I started at 215/220 lbs and my ultimate goal is 145 lbs. I made a chart breaking my weight down into 5 lbs increments and listed luxury rewards next to each goal. Some were big, some were small. Examples: -I got a haircut at 210 lbs. - which if…

I've stagnated at 190 after dropping from 215 by removing processed carbs. I cannot seem to get below this number, give or take a couple lbs. It's been months... and very discouraging. So I chalk it up to mini-binging. I must eat more than a fit person and since I've never been a healthy weight, I just don't know what…

Hi everyone! Hope it's okay if I join a bit late. I'm a binger/emotional eater and am working on braking the cycle. At this point, my will is strong outside the home (no cave-ins at work or stopping for fast food) but if there is something naughty my BF brings home, I will eat it.....all of it.....and feel really bad about…

I'm 5'5". I've always been very overweight (don't make me say obese!), so my goal is a healthy BMI of 145 lbs. I'll fine tune when I get closer.

Christina Hendricks. I'm a redhead with a strong hourglass figure. I've thought that if I get down to a healthy bmi of ~145 I'd have a similar body composition. Yay motivation!

Here's to a swift kick in the pants to both of us! I used so many "great" excuses to eat really poorly this weekend. No more! Let's both have a goal of eating well and logging this whole week - starting now! I believe in us :P
-
I'm loosely following a paleo/gluten free diet. No bread or pasta or obvious "bready" things. Generally nothing from a box. I have a hard time logging food regularly so my diary might not be that informative, but I comment frequently. Friend me if you'd like!

Look like we might be body doubles - I'm 5'5" and 187 lbs. I'm very much an hourglass/curvy. I'm down from my absolute highest of 220 and am also looking to lose about 40 more lbs. For me, I didn't have the gumption to consistently log so instead I turned my diet into what I think a healthy person should eat. I cut out…

I'm doing a modified version of paleo/gluten free. No bread, pasta, soda, or processed carbs in general. Nothing that comes from a box or bag, or any of the center aisles of the grocery store. I still allow dairy and legumes and I eat all types of meat. That simple change and I dropped 20 lbs. I have still allowed beer,…

Highest weight was 220 lbs. I'm at 188 right now. My goal was 160 until I realized that still falls into the "overweight" bmi range. My updated goal is 145.

ChiaGnome here. Feel free to friend me!
