  • For the past several weeks I haven't been doing anything, but I've seen results with the Nerd Fitness BBW workout (represent!), Jillian Michaels videos, the C25K program, various fitness.com workouts... lots of stuff. The best results I've had were from daily sports practices when I first started playing softball and…
  • I try to get most of my carbs from plant sources - fruits and vegetables, starchy tubers, etc. I throw in grains every once in a while because they are easy and tasty, but when they were a staple of my diet I felt pretty lethargic, so I guess my body doesn't respond well to them. Oatmeal and rice happen once or twice a…
  • For those of you who are interested, there are plenty of online resources with sample workout routines that can mostly be done at home. A few that come to mind are Fitness.com, Nerdfitness.com, and the YouTube channel BeFit. Mike, maybe you can weigh in on what you think of these sources. :)
  • I'm in! I'm Pear - I've been with MFP for a few months now and did loose a bit of weight initially, but lost my motivation for a while. But it's back and I'm ready to get back on track! I currently way somewhere between 130-140 pounds, and my goal for the next 12 weeks is to get as close to 120 as I can (but really, all I…
  • Hi guys, I'm Pear. :) I'm a young'un, eighteen years old and a college student. I don't really have a weight goal, but appearance-wise I'd like to look really stinking good in a swimsuit, and performance-wise I'd like to be able to run a 5K in 30 minutes or less and a mile in 8 20-second sprints with 10-second rests. And…
  • Started eating cleaner a little over a week ago (no white rice or flour, sugar only from honey, fruit, nectars and syrups, no processed chemicals etc) and my body LOVES it: SW: 136 CW: 132 GW: as light as I can get by the end of march (probably around 120) - after that, I'm just going to focus on maintaining my weight…
  • I started this challenge at 135lbs. I am now, wait for it..... 134.5lbs! But, for me, that's good progress for a week, especially considering I've mostly been strength training (plus the 1000 steps a day, but I usually walk at least that much in a day anyway >.<)
  • Today was supposed to be my last day of level one, but I wasn't able to get a workout in. Starting level two tomorrow! (:
  • Thanks a bunch! (:
  • STAR JUMPS. D:< I didn't do them all in a row, I just threw them in there while I was washing, drying, and putting away dishes. Got all my steps in while running around the kitchen and dining room! Oh, the holiday season... :3
  • Dancers! They come in all shapes and sizes (though it helps that many of them are short like me!) but they are always fit and strong. It would be awesome to be able to move like that, too. :3 Although I too am working my way through 30ds. I skipped today because I was busy preparing for NYE, but back on tomorrow! ^_^
  • okay... here are some from each side. and my stats! height: 5'4" weight: 136lbs goal weight: 125 after challenge, 110-115 ultimately. I'd like to get to a point where those ridiculous spandex shorts are no longer ridiculous and are just... spandex.
  • Hey guys! I'm Pear. I'm 18 and a college student, and for a while in high school I was very health-conscious, but my super long commute (and much more difficult classes D:) beat that out of me. I'm hoping to get back into the habit of exercising regularly (starting with a challenge to exercise for at least 20 minutes every…
  • Pick me! We're quite close in stats and stuff. Also I am Pear. :D Age: 18 Height: 5'4" Daily Calorie Goal: 1200-1500 depending on level of activity, though I might start zig-zagging before the 10 weeks are over because I plateau really quickly CW: 136-ish, last time I checked GW: 125-130. I'm a slow loser and looking to…
  • Thank you so much for making this! ^_^
  • ^ ^ ^ This!!! It got to a point that I didn't know if my insecurity was keeping me from doing certain things or if I was using it as an excuse because I was just plain scared. Even after I lost the initial weight and got to a healthier size, I was still so negative about myself and the world. I'm still nowhere near as…
  • Yay, more nooblets! Welcome, and good luck! Feel free to add me if you'd like! ^_^
  • I've also found that forcing myself to eat on a schedule, even if I'm not hungry or don't want to at the time, really helps. And, when I'm really hungry but making food will take too long, I tend to gorge myself on junk - so eating a small snack, like a fruit or some veggies, before starting to cook might help as well.…
  • Hi Keren! Call me Pear. We're about the same size and have similar goals, so I'd love to be your twin if you haven't found one yet. Age: 18 Height: 5'4" Daily Calorie Goal: 1230 CW: 136lbs GW: 115lbs (125ish by the end of 10 weeks) Preferred work-outs: I just started 30 day shred, but would also like to start running…
  • College killed me, too! I've never been a skinny-mini, but I played sports in high school which kept me healthy. Without daily 2-hour practices, I've gotten soft. Haven't gained too much weight, but I'm definitely out of shape. I'm new, so I don't really know how to add people - if I don't manage to add you, add me! ^_^
  • Count me in! My weaknesses: just about everything, really, but mostly sweets Triggers: I have a long commute, and I don't like buying food from restaurants, and I never want to carry a massive lunchbox on the bus, so I never take enough food with me to last all day. The biggest trigger is getting home after eating so…
