Cold turkey worked best for me. Day 3 sucked. Day 4 wasn't too bad. By day 7, no symptoms. Tapering off just dragged out the misery.

There are watches that take continuous heart rate measurements now, but reviews have been mixed. Mio makes the Alpha, and I think Omcron makes one, too.

Best one so far was to use MFP. But I also read something in a John Sandford novel about how most Americans were walking around with two extra car batteries of weight. So I started calculating my excess weight in car batteries. Two down, one and a half two go.

I use Nitrean Dutch Chocolate flavor. Also, I add a bit of almond extract to each shake. It also help to add ice to make it a smoothie, if you have a good blender.

I watch videos on my tablet while I use the elliptical. Most of the shows I watch have ongoing story arcs, and once a show is on the tablet, I'll only watch it while exercising. So I get incentive to add another 22 or 44 minutes to a workout every time there's a cliffhanger.
