  • I'm trying not to focus on a number, but like Kylie, I would like to lose inches and generally just feel better. Naked or otherwise, haha. Plus, I have my high school reunion this summer and I have to look good for that, of course. I am trying to watch the macros- especially sodium since my blood pressure is higher than…
  • olivilla- I'm so glad you see a good reason to open up and communicate. That's what I meant about feeling isolated. With a good support group, you feel like you can be honest and it won't shock or upset anyone because we're all going through a version of the same thing. Agree with everyone- exercise is good, unless you are…
  • Hi- I really admire your honesty and determination to get a handle on this. You're taking positive action-good for you! I'm no expert, just speaking from experience. My problem has never been to try and gain weight so these are my thoughts... 1. Were you jogging or exercising excessively? Exercise has many benefits to…
  • Another late joiner- 10 by June 10 might be a tad ambitious but it's a goal! CW- 109 GW - 100 Ok, I get CW and GW, but would some kind person explain "UGW"? I'm guessing Ultimate Goal Weight.
  • I totally decided that wtf and ate all the cheese, bread , and meat that sounded good. And had wine to go with it. Dangnabit- after all those days of being "good", something just snapped1
  • Hi Nikki! Your story and mine are almost exactly alike. Just a few pounds I'd like to lose before it gets out of hand. Gained exactly after I started a full-time desk job. One of my splurges is going to be a Fitbit activity monitor to get me going. My two kids have one and say it's a real motivator. Luckily, I can walk…
  • Good luck, Zach- your goals are a lot like my goals. And I'm just about to get a fitbit too, as a motivational tool. I know that giving up alcohol will help with the weight loss but a nice glass of wine at the end of the day (or a cold beer) just sounds so tempting. I can imagine what it might be like as a college student.…
  • Please add me- sounds like fun!
  • Baby steps, baby, baby steps. Be kind to yourself- most of us have these kind of moments! I agree about exercise just for the sake of exercise. I'm much better at some other kind of incentive, like having fun, getting more flexible, or gaining a new skill. Good for you for keeping up the food journal even when you…
  • I have found a lot of workouts on YouTube. There are many to choose from- anywhere from a 10-minute workout to a full hour. I can stream it to my TV or just follow from the computer. Good luck!
  • My daughter swears by these workouts on youfube: Tracy Anderson's workouts. (I tried to link but couldn't do it.) You can search for many more. It sounds like just what you're looking for- toning but not adding bulk. Hey, I love my daughter, she's cute, so it can't hurt to try, right?
  • Great job! You are an inspiration for me... it's hard to keep up when you feel like you're spinning your wheels. But you are definitely making huge progress! Your hard work is paying off! Yay!
  • It's so complicated- my whole life I was "chunky" even though looking back it wasn't true. But that's all I heard from the age of 7 (freakin' 7 years old!). At least we know what NOT to say/do to youngsters, kinda lol. I felt fat when I was at a very unhealthy 92 lbs. At some point, you have to get real. Easier said than…
  • Hi, I'd like some support with some buddies, too- I've been here off and on for a bit and maybe this is just the thing to make me more accountable!
  • All good advice :-) I would also emphasize that logging into your food diary seems to work- I think because it makes you aware. So, yes, even if you "go over" your calories, keep recording!
  • Please add me, if it's not too late!
