  • It seems like the things you're doing are all about weight loss results - not about making long term changes to your life. For me, it's been about getting more active and thinking about what I eat so that I don't overeat. I've lost weight, but it turns out that that's only one tiny bit of this. Getting healthy, feeling…
  • Feel free to add me! Am always up for idea swapping!!
  • Am hoping posting this image works... I started C25K in January (starting weight 200lbs) - and could barely manage the 45 second runs of the first week - I thought my chest was going to explode. I was obese, hadn't run for over 20 years (and even when I ran as a teenager I was rubbish at it) and was seriously unfit. I kept…
  • I've been using the NHS Couch to 5k plus podcasts (http://www.nhs.uk/Tools/Pages/Couch-to-5k-plus.aspx) - they're definitely helping increase my speed and stamina. Plus, I just choose the podcast for the length of run I've got time to do and it's been really good. I finished C25K at the beginning of April and instead of…
  • Vegan here too! Turned vegetarian about 20 years ago... and gradually said goodbye to dairy and eggs. I've been doing the 5:2 diet (where you have 500 calories two days per week and eat normally the rest) as it's dead easy if you're vegan / vegetarian because you just get to eat your normal foods and cut back a couple of…
  • 5'7" here too! Starting weight 200lbs... now at a whisker over 156lbs and finally have a healthy BMI (woooo hoooo!!!). Am aiming for around 140 - 145lbs, but really aiming to feel better and feel fitter and I'm definitely almost there if the last bit is the measure!
  • It's basically 'no dead stuff' - so no meat, fish or stuff that contains stuff from dead things, i.e. rennet, gelatine. However, what people consider vegetarian seems to be much more vague than that - some people say they're vegetarian if they eat fish (I've also come across someone who said they were vegetarian just…
  • That's great! I always have my tea black anyway - but I remember the first time I had sweetened soya milk and having that same 'ooooh, this isn't too bad at all!' moment! :drinker:
  • 'In between mouthfuls of bacon, I'm completely vegan' Ta for everyone's thoughts on this - have really enjoyed reading them. I know I used to find it a bit annoying when I was vegetarian that I'd go places and have fish presented as the vegetarian option with the classic 'but my friend is vegetarian and *she* eats…
  • I always freeze it first - and then defrost to use because it firms up the texture. Make sure you also squeeze out any excess water as that'll contribute to the squish-factor. I put it on a dry tea towel (on top of a chopping board) with another towel above and then put a heavy flat weight on it for about half an hour and…
  • My children's school only serves vegetarian food - and it's great. All freshly prepared and all veggie. It's fab knowing that they can eat at school, eat what the other kids are eating and that it's healthy, yummy vegetarian food.
  • We're just about exactly the same! Age: 38 Height: 5'7" SW: 199 CW: 164 GW: 140
  • I completed C25K a couple of weeks ago and when I started could not run at all. 45 seconds and I thought I was going to die... my chest felt like it was going to explode. I stuck with it and amazed myself at the point I suddenly went to 20 minutes. And then onwards and up to the full 30 minutes. And last weekend I ran over…

  • I've posted the summer pudding recipe to the recipes folder! Will add the other recipes when I get a moment
  • A very yummy vegan dessert. Make it the night before to impress your guests with how delicious it is the day after! Summer Pudding 175g redcurrants (stalks removed) 350g blackcurrants (stalks removed) 225 - 275g brown sugar thinly pared rind of 1 large orange 225g raspberries 225g blackberries / loganberries 12 thick…
  • I will share them... when I get a moment, I'll type them up. In the meantime, I use Pinterest to nab yummy recipes and my board is at http://pinterest.com/sarahhorrigan/vegan-recipes/ - yum, yum, yum!
  • It sure is! At one point they were both flicking through my recipe books drooling!!
  • Your face looks loads more defined. You're doing brilliantly!
  • I graduated yesterday - 30th March. Am still blown away by the fact that I can manage 30 minutes of running non-stop when I could barely get to 45 seconds back in January. The fact that I really enjoy it and want to keep on running... plus ran 3 miles for fun today is amazing to me as well. LOVE C25K - would recommend it…
  • That's fantastic, well done you! I did my last day today too - but you've inspired me to keep on keeping on even more! What a brilliant result you've achieved!! Sarah
  • Thank you! This was perfectly timed. I just did my 30mins of running today for the first time and amazed myself by managing it fine. But then I was thinking 'and now what?'. You just answered that for me! Thank you!!
  • I was 199 (probably more, I didn't get any scales until I was two weeks in) when I started and am 172 now... just going into Week 9 and doing 30 minute runs. I could barely manage 45 seconds let alone a minute of running when I started. It's a brilliant program and I can't believe that I'm actually enjoying running.
