  • sounds awesome!
  • Rock.Star. I am sooooo proud of you and all you've accomplished!! You're going to be a stunning bride!! :)
  • My weight this morning is 175. First week of maintenance = success!
  • This is in my crockpot as we speak!! I'm excited to try it tonight.
  • Even if this wasn't the best week, we've got to keep in mind that the group has lost nearly 300 pounds since this challenge started. That's something to be proud of!! I am humbled by the fact that I currently have the highest percentage of weight loss, but I just wanted to let you ladies know that I'm temporarily going…
  • I just went back through my exercise log for April. In those thirty days, I took 6 days completely off from cardio. Two additional days don't accurately reflect my usual workout (they were either only the 30 Day Shred or walking outside), so the following analysis is based on the 22 days that I did what I would consider…
  • My favorite weight loss tools are MFP (obviously!), my HRM (Polar FT7), my food scale, and spin class. :)
  • I measure out the marinade I put on meat before I cook it (2 tablespoons for a chicken breast or pork chop, 3-4 tablespoons for a tenderloin), and then just log the entire amount.
  • I mix tuna with either salsa or a combination of buffalo sauce, fat free bleu cheese dressing, and diced celery. The second option is pretty high in sodium, but they both taste really good!.
  • Good job, ladies! My goals for this week are to work out 5-6 times (at least 3 spin classes) and drink lots of water. I'm going to weigh myself on Thursday as well as Sunday to check in on myself. My final wedding dress fitting is next Thursday (5/5), so I can only lose a max of 2.4 pounds between now and then or my…
  • Oh, man... I feel like I've tried way too many diets over the years. These include, but are not limited to (because I'm sure I'm forgetting some): -Nutrisystem -Diet Pills (OxyElite Pro, Alli, etc) -Slimfast -"Melt it Off" Diet Plan -Some kind of magical diet tea -Eating only salad Yeah... none of those things were…
  • I looked back over your diary for the last week (not including Sunday because it looks like you didn't complete your diary that day), and you actually averaged a net of 790.5 calories. One day, you only had a net of 539 calories. That is really not enough food. Your calorie goal from MFP is meant to be your NET calorie…
  • I allow myself little indulgences every day. I'd lose my mind, otherwise! My favorite "naughty" snacks include Skinny Cow ice cream sanwiches, Stew Leonard's chocolate drizzled rice cakes, and Smart Ones desserts (especially the chocolate chip cookie dough sundae). I totally believe in "everything in moderation," and I…
  • Great week, ladies!!
  • Using MFP, it took me about 11 weeks to lose 30 pounds. Tomorrow will mark 17 weeks on the site for me, and my loss is up to 43.4 pounds. I have not missed a day of logging onto the site since I started on December 28, 2010, though there have been a few days where I haven't logged food (but fewer than 10 days fall into…
  • Hi, Tina- Thanks for your kind words! I created the side-by-side image using InDesign. Then I uploaded the combo picture onto the photo sharing site PhotoBucket and pasted the image's url into my post.
  • Agreed. Why did you go through and manually set the calorie goals? If I were you, I'd go back and set up your goals again using the "guided" option. Eating too little will actually hinder your weight loss. Also, you should be drinking more water.
  • I have this one, and I love it: http://www.amazon.com/Taylor-Biggest-Loser-Kitchen-Platform/dp/B001DQOEIE/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1302727351&sr=8-2
  • I have an Eat Smart scale that I bought on Amazon for $29 (free shipping). Someone on here recommended it, so I thought I'd give it a shot. I really like it. It seems really accurate... just make sure it's on a very hard, very flat surface.…
  • I just went back and looked at my exercise log from January through now, and here is the breakdown: <5 Hours: 1 week (I was out of town for work) 5-6 Hours: 1 week 6-7 Hours: 1 week 7-8 Hours: 5 weeks 8-9 Hours: 6 weeks >9 Hours: 1 week On average, I do cardio for about 8 hours/week.
  • I adore my gym membership. I really think it's some of the best $30 I spend each month (LA Fitness family plan). I've become a huge fan of spin class, and I know for sure I wouldn't be able to get the same calorie burn working out on my own. I also like switching up my workout throughout the week, so the variety of the…
  • The thread was not meant to be about the validity of using HRMs to calculate calorie burns. It was not meant to be about how accurate the readings are. As another poster said, nothing is 100% accurate. The thread is about people who choose HRMs as their method of calculating calories and how they use the tool.
  • Are HRMs perfect? No. But they're a lot more accurate than the read-outs on the machines at the gym or from the MFP database. Also, if you don't have anything helpful or relevant to add to a thread, why bother posting?
  • I stop my HRM right after my workout. If I'm doing a cardio machine (rowing, elliptical, crossramp, etc), I stop it right when I step off. If I'm doing a spin class, I keep recording through the cool-down when we are still on the bike and stop it when we get off the bike to stretch. I consider any "after burn" from my…
  • It has taken me 3.5 months (12/28/10-4/10/11) to lose 41 pounds. -I am at the gym six days a week (spinning 3-5 times); -I almost never go over my 1,200 calories; -I eat back the vast majority of my exercise calories; -I drink at least 8 cups of water each day.
  • Another great week, ladies! And I'm so excited to get a yellow box!! My on-going goal is to be 175-177 by May 5. That's when I have my final fitting for my wedding dress, and my seamstress took in a little extra for me based on my reaching that weight. I'm at 181.8 right now, and I have a little over three weeks.
  • *LIKE*! You look fabulous! And I know you're going to hit that 50 pounds with no problem!
  • Thank you! There's no major secret to our weight loss... just hard work and complete dedication to the MFP program. Today is my 105th day on MFP, and I have been over my calorie goal on I'd estimate only 5-10 days (mostly during a week I was away at a conference for work in January). I am at the gym 5-6 times a week, and I…
  • To my earlier post, I would like to add "Purple with a Purpose." I just got my toes done that color today. I still like my original two for my fingers, but the purple is a fun toe color!!
  • Not Really a Waitress and Blushingham Palace are my two favorites!!
