  • doug - are you finding that it double counts calories if you set the timer on the charge hr and it appears as an activity in fitbit and then log it is MFP or does it automatically adjust when you add the time parameter?

  • Like the others say, no-one is going to be laughing at you. Take a set of headphones out if going out makes you self-conscious - well done on getting out there and just think about the fact that you are one of the few who actually get off their couches in order to get fit and healthy. Keep going - you'll be grand.
  • I had a PT once (from a distance) who I asked to help attain a certain time in a 10k run. We would have a phone call once a week to discuss how training was going/ whether exercises needed to be adapted and I logged training on a website. Although I didn't quite get my dream time, I did get a 4 min PB.
  • slow and steady is the key. As soemone who has been running for a while, as soon as I started off slower and built up I found I could run for longer without stopping. Not followed C25K but best of luck, and stick with it.
  • what's the charge like for accurately tracking steps? Thinking of changing my fitbit one for a charge Hr when they come out in the UK.
  • ditto the other comments. I often train twice a day 3 times a week with maybe a run in the morning with a yoga/pilates session at lunchtime or a body combat session. Just take it easy and see how the body feels and make sure you have enough to fuel both sessions.
  • Home Alone but given that I am happy being single atm Serenity
  • I'm from Liverpool, welcome to MFP
  • I must admit to exercising in order to eat more, but have to admit that by trying to be more aware of what I am eating and trying to be in deficit (I do have my off days and weeks) I am now starting to see the weight coming off and my clothes fitting me better.
  • Being a Brit; Irish accents every time, especially southern Irish - I could listen to that accent all day long. *sorry nearly forgot French and Italian accents too* Not sure I despise any accent but a very thick Liverpool accent (my own home town as well) makes me cringe plus Birmingham accents always seem to make people…
  • I did my first half marathon in 2.40 and I was 167 lbs
  • Childfree here as well. 40, single but have never particularly had an urge to have kids (although also a chance that I can't have them anyway due to a chromosone deficiency that seems to affect the females in my family). Have two gorgeous nieces aged 17 and 5, and I love them to bits but they are enough for me.
  • I've just completed it, by the end of each 10 day stretch at each level it does get easier. For me Level 2 is by far the hardest and level 3 is more jumping squats and travelling press ups etc. After levels 2 and 3 I was definitely sweating. Perseverance is the key, it will get easier I promise
  • a yay from me too. Will hurt like hell but my physio once says if it doesn't hurt you are not doing it right. Helped me loads when I injured my IBT last year
  • http://www.fitbit.com/user/26GKJ8 here you go. Only had mine a couple of weeks and seems great so far
  • The before and after photos are amazing. Well done on all the hard work.
  • How does the fitbit distinguish activity from sleep. Just bought one and when I set the timer when I travelled home on the bus it registered on the fitbit as sleep
  • don't watch what I eat/drink on holiday as I'm on holiday but I do do lots of walking around when I'm away and might do a bit of swimming. Plus given that I will be going away in June to Portugal the nice weather means I will eat more fresh fruit and veg/salad and fish anyway
  • Just started this this week so we shall see how I get on. I think you can eat what you want on the non-fasting days, I think the researcher said that you don't actually over eat on the non-fast days, maybe by 10% only. Am trying to do fasting on Wednesday/Saturdays as those are days that I don't go to the gym or run
