Good one

You look excellent! Congratulations!

Yeah don't forget to rinse the quinoa well before you cook with it.... VERY important because it can frequently be gritty otherwise.
-
Other quinoa ideas: - make some extra during dinner time and save it in a tupperware in the fridge. In the morning, pour milk on it, add chopped apple and raisins, agave or maple syrup, chopped walnuts, and cinnamon. - make quinoa burgers: cook up some quinoa, add veggies (like cabbage, sundried tomatoes, grated carrots),…

Have a spoonful of maple syrup and call it a day

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XliMny3AvnE Filmmaker David Lynch makes quinoa for your entertainment (and his dinner). Quinoa is a grain. It's very nutritious and simple to make- like rice.

fffff. I just finished eating "dinner" at it's past 9 pm. But I stay up until 3 am usually, so it's not a big deal. Usually I have 2 snacking sessions after dinner time as well!

kale, asparagus, collard greens, peas, spinach, broccoli... pretty much anything green. Sauteed with lemon and olive oil. :glasses:

I'm with the consensus, 1.8 lbs/week is amazing. Don't pass it off as a disappointment. As far as cooking ideas go, it makes a big difference to read recipes. Find a couple of food blogs that suit your preferences and follow them. Get acquainted with new ingredients (especially new produce) and get creative. Start here:…

don't forget the bean sprouts! yummm :smooched:

Hi :) Looks like you're getting a really even spread of the food groups- lots of veggies which is EXCELLENT. How come you're not eating to your recommended calories (it says you could be eating about 2,000 but most days you hit about 1,200)?

:drinker: Have fun! hehe

:blushing: Mine's public.

I used to keep a can of soup in my desk (don't forget to bring a can opener like me though) for those days I ran out the door without a packed lunch.

Don't be afraid of the guacamole. As long as you're not having more than 3 or 4 tablespoons, you're OK. And why pass on GUAC!?!??
-
Start with the mango or papaya salad. Super yummy and not fried. The biggest offender in there will be the peanuts, which are good fats anyway. That way you can order something else small (like a soup) and be full of good things, plus not miss out on the awesome flavours. Have fun!! :drinker:

YOU LOOK. SO GOOD. A bit like Scarlett Johansson, no?

ding ding ding!

I had awful skin as a teen and the *only* thing that worked was Proactiv. I hated spending that much money on my appearance, but they ended up making a big difference and lasting a long time. When I started the Pill my acne cleared up for good, but that's not something you probably want to offer your 13 year old for a few…

Kale and lentils are the bomb. Tofu, fortified soy/almond/rice milk, tempeh, and other alternatives are also good. Studies have shown that iron is more readily absorbed in the body when accompanied by vitamin C... so chop up a tomato to go with those lentils :glasses:

:drinker: Fellow Canadian here. Welcome!

Please read this: http://www.womentowomen.com/healthyweight/splenda.aspx "Splenda is the trade name for sucralose, a synthetic compound stumbled upon in 1976 by scientists in Britain seeking a new pesticide formulation." Molecularly, it's got chlorine atoms instead of hydroxyl groups. That makes it unrecognizable by the…

Bump!!! I am so impressed with everybody on MFP. Good job! :smooched:

EAT MORE: whole grains like brown rice, barley, quinoa, and whole wheat. beans and legumes like lentils, chick peas, split peas, kidney beans. vegetables like potatoes, corn, carrots, sweet potatoes.
-
Please please get a second opinion.

no, it's not. "Splenda is the trade name for sucralose, a synthetic compound stumbled upon in 1976 by scientists in Britain seeking a new pesticide formulation." read the whole article here: http://www.womentowomen.com/healthyweight/splenda.aspx The best way to cut down on your sugar intake is to stop eating anything with…

wahhhh! That's brilliant. Your hub definitely deserves a huge kiss for the wonderful (and considerate) present. :blushing:

Hi Geminieve, You should read Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer. The back of the book is dedicated to references he makes in the book, and there's lots and lots of credible research for you to pick from. I've been a vegan for four years (vegetarian beforehand) and I'm never looking back.
