This may as well have been said by me! I plan an extravagant dinner and schedule in a jog around the block at the same time.

Whoah. 1,200 calories is not just a maximum, it's also a very serious minimum.

Some people are coming from different headspaces.... it's possible they were on a super restrictive diet beforehand and now that they're in this "Diet" mentality it's impossible to break the calorie glass ceiling? Hard for me to imagine, too.

Hi there! :flowerforyou: Lots of people find it easy to add a couple hundred calories by incorporating nuts and nut butters. A handful of cashews or 2 tbsp of peanut butter can put you just where you need to be, calorie-wise. Take a look at the different nutrients tracked by MFP in your food diary and decide which ones…

A pleasantly surprising read. I must admit I was expecting less from MSN.com but every tip seems really helpful! Thanks for the link!

This is absolutely the one that drives me completely insane. Cleanse yourself of what, exactly? "Toxins"? What is the precise toxic compound? Where are the studies proving that your pill or cleansing mechanism is ridding me of this compound? Where are the studies proving this compound is actually "toxic" for me? I think…

I would have gone straight away and told the employee's manager.

"make it a game that only you can win" Excellent advice, my friend. Not to mention hilarious. And it's a nice way to divert aggression. :glasses: p.s., I literally L-O-L'ed @ "flawless Nepalese"

Chickpea salad with cut vegetables, rice crackers, and a bloody mary :drinker:

Yep, check out the recipe function. Super helpful. :glasses:

The only foods that I eat every day without exception: Coffee with soy milk. Lemon water. Fresh vegetables.

The issue with eating 1200 calories of junk food per day is that you are getting very little nutrition from these foods. Your body needs things like iron, fatty acids, vitamins, minerals, and proteins to run properly. And while you can conceivably lose weight while eating 1200 calories a day, your body will not be healthy…

Oh my gosh, this sounds so good. What do you usually serve it with? Flatbread, a salad?

ow ow! Hot mama!!! You look gorgeous  Congratulations on your successes!

The worst thing is when the fries get stuck to the pan in the oven. Here are two solutions: 1. use parchment paper on top of the pan (not wax paper, they aren't the same thing). 2. salt the pan instead of the fries. My favourite spices to put on the fries are cumin, cinnamon, cayenne and paprika. Just preheat your…

I eat *pretty* cleanly- I cook for myself from scratch almost always. Some of my protein choices (like tofu and tempeh) have been processed, but I'm a vegan so I'm not giving those up, heh. My food diary's open for business, too.

I had a kettle at my desk which was initially for making myself tea, but I started to use it to make some low-sodium cup-a-soup things (or whatever). Also I kept a jar of miso paste in the fridge and would just spoon a bit of miso into a mug and pour hot water to make some miso soup. Combined with chopped veggies (from…

Make a massage appointment for yourself, or get somebody to give you one. Paint your nails or your toenails. Spend a little extra time on yourself. Have a bath. Don't let yourself slip up just because you're feeling a bit rough. Fill up on lots of portions of vegetables so your stomach doesn't complain to you. You'll be…

Yeah!!!! I love Earth Balance. 27 calories for a teaspoon is not so bad, either.

Vegan here, hello. :flowerforyou:

The "extra weight" you might "gain" from retaining water in fibre will very quickly become poop. Don't worry about that. The more fibre in your diet, the fuller you feel after meals.

Thanks for the links, the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition and I had not been previously introduced. I'm in the middle of a study break right now so I'm not going to wade in just yet, but I know what I'm going to read this evening! Cheers!

"Sumo wrestlers famously maintain their large bulk by napping after their meals. The idea is that food you eat before sleeping doesn't get as thoroughly metabolized as food you digest while being active, and so if you want to get fat, shift your meals toward bedtime. Lots of people try to avoid eating after dinnertime to…

wahhhh  Site's totally messed up. Currently for me it's mixing up posts in the forums under different thread names.

Brilliant. Congratulations on your results and all the hard work, too.

lentils are awesome for iron. Eating something high in vitamin C (like tomatoes) really enhances the absorption of iron as well.

uhhh Avocados. So nutritious and versatile. Plus tasty. mmm.
