  • I started working out with a trainer & eating well the beginning of February. I lost 10 pounds the first month, 5 the second, and then just over 7 pounds both the third and fourth months. During the third month I started doing C25K so that helped. Congrats on completing your first month of healthy choices!
  • Maybe some of both? Edit: Typed 4 words...still managed a typo.
  • This made me laugh out loud. I tell myself that when I get to a certain spot I'm going to be done, and when I'm not it's excruciating to have to keep going!
  • This response is amazing. So true! "You finished. End of sentence." Love it.
  • The first minute for me always sucks. I'm tired, it hurts, I hate it. About 5 minutes in I finally start to feel okay. I totally get feeling like you're lumbering when you're moving slowly! But that's what it takes... just keep your feet moving. I did C25K last year and for my final workout I went and jogged a 5K course…
  • I used to skip stretching more often than not too until I started working with a trainer and he kept stressing how important it is. It actually does feel really good, too, if you take the time to do it. I usually do a 5 minute cardio warm-up and then do a really good stretch post-workout.
  • I bullied myself out of bed early to do my C25K workout - today was a 25 minute run with 5 minute warm-up and cool-down walks. Got a trainer session tonight so my activity will be good. I went out to lunch with a co-worker and the calories aren't too bad but it's not settling well so now I'm regretting it.
  • Just finished W7D1. It was a tough one. My legs were tired start to finish. I felt out of breath for the first couple minutes but then was able to get that regulated. I played a lot of mental games with myself (this is too hard today, I can't do this, I'm not going to make it, I'm so tired). I kind of had an idea where I…
  • I just read through 6 pages of posts to find out if this video is being posted. I see lots of requests for it!
  • You didn't just break the plateau, you crushed it!
  • I've had a Fitbit for over a year and I wouldn't live without it. It does not tell you your heart rate. It will give you a calorie burn based on your personal data, the amount of steps & the intensity of the steps (how fast you're moving). I currently have the Flex because I like the convenience of not taking it off, but…
  • My immediate thought is to make sure you have the right running shoes. My friend had a lot of ankle issues (stemming from a bad sprain) and once she got the right shoes it made a world of difference.
  • Tonight I have Zumba, which is always a lot of fun and an intense hour of cardio. I'm also walking with a friend at lunch who keeps me moving - it's more power walk than social walk (although we are talking the whole time - I'm usually just winded keeping up with her). The sun is shining so I'm looking forward to getting…
  • I've seen the ads on Facebook and was wondering if it was any good. I took Hatha Yoga classes last year and really liked them, but now they don't fit into my schedule.
  • UPDATE: I did get my C25K workout in, and had an awesome session with my trainer. I still didn't feel particularly good by the end of the work day but finally decided I might as well try my run, and if it didn't feel good I could stop. Not only did I finish, but I set a new best pace (that was a happy surprise because I…
  • W6D3 complete! I got up early this morning to do my run before work and felt so fatigued I knew it wasn't going to happen. Not just sleepy, but that deep muscle fatigue like when you're sick. Ended up going into work a little late. Can't say I felt particularly good by the end of the day, and I knew this was going to be a…
  • I did it in May and it worked well for me. I liked the structure of it. I was able to break a lot of bad habits during it that I had been not been successful with before (like giving up diet coke). Spending the money also helped me - it's not inexpensive and that reminded me that I better stick with it.
  • I got up early this morning to do my run and realized I was feeling really fatigued - not just sleepy, but a deep fatigue. I went back to bed for an hour, woke up still feeling off, so I let work know I'd be late and slept two more hours. Feeling a little better now but still not right. I have a trainer session at 7:00…
  • Keith you're into extra credit now as far as losing the 20#, but holy cow are you close to breaking out of the 200's!
  • Isn't that the best feeling in the world? I'm doing W6D3 tomorrow and now I know I can do the 22 minutes because I got through the 20 last week. Congratulations!
  • Congrats BBB! What an awesome week you had! Week One - 4/21/2013: 214.0 Week Two - 4/28/2013: 211.4 Week Three - 5/5/2013: 207.0 Week Four - 5/12/2013: 205.1 Week Five - 5/19/2013: 201.8 Week Six - 5/26/2013: 201.1 Week Seven - 6/2/2013: 200.6 Week Eight - 6/9/2013: 198.9 Week Nine - 6/16/2013: 197.4 Total: -16.6 pounds My…
  • I'm on my 2nd time doing C25K. I completed W6D2 yesterday. I did it last summer, and followed the advice of the people who said to go as slow as you have to in order to finish the workouts. One of my friends told me to "just keep your feet moving" so that's the mantra I had running on repeat through my head, especially…
  • Glad it felt great!
  • Bumping this. I see a few of the Sunday weigh-ins are still pinned so this got dropped down. I'd love to hear from more people in the group!
  • I'm a little nervous about the weigh-in tomorrow. My sister and I are taking my parents out for dinner tonight for an early Father's Day celebration, and I don't think the place we're going serves too many healthy options. So my strategy is to eat really clean the rest of the day and then maybe see if mom wants to split…
  • I somehow posted the same thing twice - is there a way to delete one? I see comments that posts are edited but can't figure out how people are editing. Edit: Found the edit button! Is there a delete button somewhere?
  • This just made my day. I have often said that if I'm running it's because somebody is chasing me with a knife. Two-thirds of the day through Week 6 it's nice to know if somebody is chasing me with a knife at least I can run. At least in 10 minute intervals. Think the knife-wielder will give up before the 10 minutes is up?
  • somehow posted the same thing twice: editing to delete extra
  • It's supposed to be warm today so I hit the road early to do W6D2. This is the first day I went out feeling really confident that I could do it, instead of just being pretty sure I would get through it. I did a hillier route (one short steep hill - which came right at the end of my first 10 minute run, and the rest were…
