I recently read an article about a study they did where people who walked slowly (like you have to on a treadmill desk) for a longer period of hours lost more weight than someone who did more intense activity for only an hour. I don't remember where I read it so I can't track it down. Having said that, diet is most of it,…

Congratulations on the drive, determination & patience you exercised to get to that milestone! As awesome as it is to see those middle numbers drop, there's absolutely nothing in the world like watching that first number drop.

My Yaktrax just came in the mail yesterday. Can't wait to try them out!

Shush...you're younger than I am so no "old" talk allowed. If I couldn't do them on the same days I wouldn't be able to do both.

Wow would I like to be able to do that pose! That takes amazing flexibility, strength & balance. Rest day today for me. I got in a total body workout with my trainer last night, then went for an easy 3 mile treadmill run. It was my most comfortable treadmill run yet (although I still prefer running outside). Hope everybody…

No reason you can't do both! I ran after my strength workouts both Monday & Thursday this week and it was nice to start with my muscles already warmed up. Hope you're able to run to the expo tonight & it doesn't get icy.

3 mile run today, rest of additional miles were walking

The saying is true - No matter how slow you go, you're still lapping everyone on the couch.

I just had my easiest treadmill run ever. Found a pace almost right away that felt comfortable and stayed there for 3 miles while I watched "The Big Bang Theory." I felt loose and comfortable and didn't even get bored during commercial breaks.

Those are sweet shoes!

I genuinely laughed out loud at "...I was clapping and saying "finish strong!" just because I'm obnoxious that way."

They're beautiful. I love them. Can't wait to hear how you like them!

I also drink aloe juice for mine - every day.

Like it!

Tim, sounds like your running co-worker is making great progress! It's awesome that you're encouraging/supporting him like that. Is your shoulder feeling any better? After 72 hours it finally quit snowing! I went out this morning and maybe only another half inch of snow from last night so that was a relief. Now it's going…

Yes! Also I find myself jogging up the stairs, not because I'm in a hurry but just because that's what feels right.

I cannot wait to tell my non-celebrity trainer tomorrow that I can't possibly lift more than 3 pound weights. I'm sure he'll get right on board with that.

It's snowing. And snowing and snowing and snowing. It's been snowing steadily for 2-1/2 days and isn't supposed to let up until tomorrow. Work closed early. A fire truck got stuck. They pulled the buses. They even pulled the snowplows for a few hours. Trainer workout got cancelled. Couldn't get to the gym to get in my run…

There are a lot of aches, pains, illnesses, and rough runs on this page. I'm so proud of everybody because I don't hear one person actually complaining. :drinker:

Sherry I hope the doctor has answers for you, and that they're good ones. Maureli, I agree - evenings are tough! Monday through Thursday I have workouts after work so it's late before I eat supper, which helps with the snacking. It's 8:00 pm here and I'm thinking I should probably get up and find something to eat. Tim I…

12/1: 2 miles walking (did the bike & the rowing machine at the gym so low step count day) 12/2: 2 miles running & 3 miles walking

Ran 2 miles on the TM after my trainer session. Also his client before me couldn't make it in (she got stuck in the snow in her driveway) so we started a little early. Bonus time! Awesome total body workout.

2 treadmill miles after my trainer session. We're in day 1 of a 3 day snowstorm so I didn't trust that I'd be able to get to the gym before work tomorrow, and the look on Jason's face when I told him I hadn't done it this morning didn't seem to leave skipping it as an option. Played around with building speed - up a smidge…

I don't own an ugly sweater either. In for the run though!

I did not know Endomondo kept those stats. My total distance with them is 253.58, which is higher than I expected. I didn't start using that app until after graduating from C25K. I do have some walks/hikes on there so those aren't all running miles. But hey I've burned 99 burgers. (That sounds like a real-life story not an…

I was supposed to run this morning. I did not. I got up early to do it, but had various little aches & pains that I'm blaming on Saturday's run that made me think running was a bad idea. I am going to the gym shortly to work out with my trainer and I'll see how I feel about running afterward. We're in day 1 of an…

The extra loop was not a success. I had to stop on my warm-up walk and undo that because it was rubbing right under my heel bone.

Awesome run!

I didn't realize my IT Band was tight until my trainer had me get down on the foam roller. Hurt so much I actually couldn't do it. Started out with a tennis ball to get the worst of the pain out, then moved onto the roller. I'm not as consistent with it as I should be for maintenance, but as soon as I start getting those…

The diehards were such an amazing group. Wonder where everybody went.
