Yesterday. Chili, fritos, breyers low carb icecream with bananas and strawberries, bisquit and gravy for breakfast. All the wrong things for me.

Wow! Great job! Gotta love TRX!

It is all about decisions. Do you want to self medicate with foods that offer no benefits other than comfort or do you want to start getting healthy and eat wisely? You have the power to make these decisions and take control of your body and health. The fact that you are on myfitnesspal is a great start!

When I do this as well, I have the best results.

Have a professional running store check your feel and your old shoes to see how you are rolling your feet. The pain in your ankle and knees most likely will be solved once you get the right shoe. I did this and thought I need asics but ended up with Mizunos. It was the best hour I ever spent investing in my feet.

I used to be the big lady starting out at the gym and you know what? I worked twice as hard and twice as long as the young skinny woman. I had to decide that I'm doing this for myself. Not anyone else. Pretty soon I noticed others like me who where very serious about getting healthy. You are there for a great reason.…

LOL! That's funny! I was wondering why I've been seeing some folks do this at my gym as well :o)

I have lost over 50 lbs eating lean meats and lots of green veggies and some whole grains like wild rice or barley. Berries are my fruit of choice. No sugar, no white flour, no starchy foods ( I call them pig and cow foods. The ones the farmers use to fatten up livestock). I limit salt so I also leave out processed meats.…

In the end folks are going to eat how they want to eat. It's up to each one of us how we want to handle health short or long term. Me personally, If I eat processed foods I feel nauseous and stall my weight loss journey. Dropping sugar, white flour, fast food and such has given me so much more energy and I crave foods…

Thanks for posting this topic. It's something thats been on my mind as well. Because of DNA and watching what my own mother has gone through with her gains and losses, I will have to always be on guard. So I think it becomes a mind game of loving the new lifestyle more than the old. There is diabetes in my family as well…

Your body will pull it's energy from what you eat first then from stored fat. Fat is the "back up in case of famine". So look at it this way. If you've been in a sort of fasting state all night while sleeping and you go work out then you are working out on the energy from fat stores.

How about this...one up on my super incredible sister who has always been the favored one of the family. Run a marathon. Hike for a month in the mountains. Not be afraid to face anything anymore.
-
Do it! It's fun but get some shoes that are not running shoes. They grab the floor to much and can trip ya up.

I have a friend who ran a 50K in the mountains in just over 9 hours. Most of those who ran this ultra tough race were taking it nice and steady. Maybe 12 min miles? Anyway, their endurance was incredible!

I protect my time to exercise because good health is a high high priority. Life is to short to not make it a priority. It hasn't always been this way with me and I have five lovely children and a husband to keep me busy. They have been complaining lately that I haven't been cooking as much! LOL

Kendra, I noticed you are 18. What is your height, weight and your goal weight? You've already have great advice but you may need to eat. If not, the thing I do is plan ahead:smile. Especially for evenings and weekends when everyone else is pigging out. I have slivered almonds on hand. Or air popped popcorn with some…

It looked like tons of fun but a little spendy for such a short run.

I like seeing new determined faces. Especially the ones who are there for the right reason. But I don't appreciate the loafers taking up space for their social hour. The treadmills are taking a beating right now with the influx of people. Hope the fix it guys can get to them soon. Meanwhile, I'll stick to my TRX class. Not…

You can do it Stuart! Joining your family will be wonderful. Things do change quite a bit after 40 but it's never to late. I'm a firm believer that changing the way we eat is 80 % of the battle. The rest is either staying active doing what you you love or challenge yourself to be the fit person you want to become. Your…

I you enjoy cooking then you won't like them. They aren't creative... However, they are convenient for post workouts. I love adding berries, oats or flax, even olive oil with milk. Great for getting on with the day quickly.

I notice that if I have a snack after 6pm the weight stays on. I had read an article once that Dr. Mercola wrote about using that time period as a fasting made a huge difference. So I tried it. My problem is bad habits. I love to eat after the day is all settled. I think that is where I splurge the most. Soooo, for me the…

I would ask a cosmetologist that question but also ask what style would help. Maybe a short short style or braids...messy bun.

Ha Ha! That'll get the message through. You might want to warn him first though. "Listen, you know how hard I've been working at this but if you insist on tempting me here is what I will do in response...just letting you know."

I started researching calorie counts before going. A few extra steps of planning ahead of time is so worth it. Also I make a protein drink before and it fills my stomach and helps me to make better choices.

First of all, being around family is sometimes hard. Boredom. I had to recognise what my triggers were. And then come up with a plan to deal with them. It usually involved heading outside for a walk or getting busy with chores etc. Also growing up our rewards were food. It was kinda scarce so when mom wanted to treat us we…

All the time! I don't know the reason but I do know that in the past I've been slightly anemic. Being cold sure beats the hot flashes and sweats from when I was over 200 lbs.
