Muscle does not weigh more than fat. A pound is a pound. Muscle takes up much less space than fat because it is denser.

Nivea Q10 Body Firming Lotion. It comes in a big pump bottle. In two weeks you should see a difference. I swear by this stuff.

I do cardio 6 days a week and take Sunday's off so I can food shop, get chores done, etc. I strength train M-W-F. It's not an all or nothing type of thing. The idea is to be more active in your normal lifestyle. Talk a walk, go to the park, go to the mall, whatever... just have fun!! If you're sore, you may want to take an…

A sense of self. To feel like me again. That's all the reward I will need. :flowerforyou:

Please don't overdo or you could end up in the hospital. Take it one day at a time and do a little more each day but ONLY under the advisement of your doctor. Do what the doc says and no more... Hope you're feeling better soon!

Put down the computer and go eat something. Have some fruit or a small salad or a bowl of granola cereal and skim milk. I agree that you are setting yourself up to overeat at dinner. Do not let others compromise your goals and desires. Eat what you want and do not feel guilty. I lived my entire life listening to the "food…

Ya know what... I could see someone having trouble if they don't know the correct foods to eat. Maybe sitting down and making a meal plan would help. Truthfully there are a lot more foods that you CAN eat than you SHOULDN'T eat. Technically you can eat anything... in moderation. I listed above a basic daily menu that I…

Never harp on the negative. Log it for accountability and move on.

WOOHOO!!! Good for you!!! I feel the exact same way and that's why I want to surround myself with happy, motivated and REALISTIC peeps!! I am so adding you as a friend!!

It's amazing what we can do when we're just honest with ourselves. LOL Logging my food has always helped me to stay on track and focused. I'm not quite sure how people do it without logging but whatever works is what they should do. I'm glad that you are making progress and are healthy and active. It's a long road but we…

I know the post the OP is referring to as I was on there too but somehow managed to make a friend out of that OP rather than put her down. That said I have a great amount of respect for everyone on this board until they prove otherwise... I agree that people need to toughen up if they are going to come on here and ask for…

OK... so you're eating lettuce. Did you always eat lettuce? Probably not or you wouldn't be trying to lose weight. Lettuce is not a well balanced diet. Breakfast... 1 serving of oatmeal 100 calories, 1 banana 105 calories Mid morning snack... granola bar 100 calories or an orange 80 calories See where I'm coming from here?…

Yeah, I've had enough of being sick this winter... it has been so hard. I'm a school bus driver and pick up one thing after the next from the kids but I believe this last illness of pneumonia came right from the gym. I'm thinking the air quality in that place is a disaster. When I use a machine, I clean it before and after…

You go girl! :flowerforyou: Beautiful baby btw... :)

Yes... sodium intake can really inhibit weight loss. I also realized that when I wasn't losing at first. I really tried to keep track on MFP and have found that the less sodium I eat, not only do I lose weight but I also feel so much better. If you're doing that much working out, you're definitely making a difference.…

I think you found it offensive because she was just being honest. It's soooooo hard to hear the truth about ourselves sometimes and although I believe that many people abuse these boards because they are more or less anonymous, I don't think that this was done in this case. It's cool... move on. Stop focusing on "how"…

Thanks so much! In the past I would have been insanely jealous and actually mad that he's lost so fast! How incredibly immature is that?? LOL I feel so proud of him and of myself for being the supportive wife I never knew I could be!! LOL

I don't think she was criticizing you, just responding to what you wrote in your original post... :) I know what it's like to try to lose weight with a family to take care of... you always come last and although that's how us mommy's work, it doesn't have to be that way. Log your food, be accountable to yourself, ask for…

This is going to sound crazy but I actually love to log my food. Since I wear the BodyMedia Fit armband and it counts my calories burned for me and then inputs it into myfitnesspal via my phone app, it's actually fun to log my food. I'm always amazed at how much I actually eat during the day. How much I GET to eat...…

I also don't feel like I'm in jail by counting my calories. More often than not, I underestimate rather than overestimate so I'm not rating enough which can be just as bad add eating too much. I especially like to count since I get extra calories from working out. I would never suggest not counting but do what works for…

To lose one pound a week, you have to burn a total of 3500 calories more than you eat in one week OR 500 calories a day. Let's say your base met rate is 2200 calories burnt per day (there are calculators to help you figure out what your BMR is), then you need to eat no more than 1700 calories per day plus any calories you…

For all intensive purposes... It is actually For all intents and purposes... And I don't even like that all that much... LOL

Wow... that is awesome! Congratulations!

Hahahaha... I get it.

I agree but give it time when you make an eating change... say two weeks. Try 2 weeks eating 1/2. If that doesn't work, 2 weeks eating all calories back, etc. Just remember, there is more to this than the scale. How do you feel? Are your clothes fitting better? Maybe the weights are too heavy and you need to use lighter…

It's very common to lose motivation after a few weeks. When we start we a set goal in mind and feel invincible... but that starts to wain after a while. It's very easy to lose motivation when you're driving in your car to the gym and all you want to do is turn around and go home and watch your fave shows on the DVR... LOL…
