How does everyone like this ideal protein thing. I'm in for 4 weeks, feeling quite hungry throughout the day. Anyone else?

It really is the best feeling, I was on 3 different blood pressure meds at 35, now my blood pressure is normal and I'm off all meds all together.

I kind of have to agree with the op. I think people confuse calories with feeling full. I believe people should not starve themselves, but I don't believe that people can't eat at least the minimum calories. 1 tablespoons olive oil on a salad for example, or a regular yogurt. I have done all kinds of stupid things on my…

I'm not quite sure why people in this thread have trouble eating more calories. If you are full all of the time just eat higher calorie things, not more stuff. My nutritionist told me to add olive oil to salads, or eat almonds. If you eat a chocolate bar this will add almost 300 calories. I'm not suggesting you eat candy…

I have been struggling with this too, i'm trying out 2500 calories but i don't eat back my calories. I'm 5' 10 and currently am 172. I'm tyring it out for a week and will see what happens.

Turkey and cheese sandwitch, salad with fat free Italian and a can of tuna on it, 2 cups of home made mushroom and barley soup and a pudding.

If you drink when you are hungry the liquid going in will fill your stomach so you will feel full for a while. But as you body starts to see the fake sugar in you system, it thinks it real sugar and will ramp up. The problem is, that your body is fooled and you insulin levels will be off because your body is trying to…

Diet soda will just make you hungry, so, it wont make you gain weight, but it will make it harder for you as you will crave food.

In October 2010, I was diagnosed with VERY high blood pressure, I was put on 2 different medications right away and was weighing in at 341. I started making changes then and joind MFP in February of 2011 at 327.5. I'm very proud to say that I'm in maintanence now at 177, (actually I go between 174 - 180). I did this with…

I'm "lucky" as i haven't been at my current weight in my adult life. By this I mean that I didn't have a goal weight at the begining. Some of my friends are working to be a weight that they were when they were when they were younger, but the reality is that they are not who they were then now. If you have reached your…

I have lost 150 pounds, and I would agree with some on here that I wouldn't trade the journey for anything. This journey has taught me a lot about my self and what and how much I eat. 100 pounds sounds like a lot, but its only 1.5 to 2 pounds per week.

I've never made a resolution, even losing my weight this year, i only wanted to try to keep it up. If I was to say anything for 2012, it would be to keep eating and tracking my food and most importantly maintain.

I'm down 151 as if today. I'm maintaining now and am trying to stay around the 150 range. Good luck to all, you can do anything if you put your mind to it.

It was posts like this that kept me going, thanks for sharing.

I always thought my face was round, guess not...

I was 140 pounds heavier than I am today! Seems so long ago and not so long ago at the same time, I guess I'm only half the man I used to be...
-
I "set" mine a few times, but wasn't happy and decided to keep going until i thought i looked "normal".
-
The truth is, I have never been skinny, which was probably a good thing, because I was never trying to get back to a weight. I never had a goal in mind.
-
Eating until I was full. Only after a few weeks did I realize that if I ate more frequently, I was never hungry and ate because I was supposed to versus because I was hungry.

I find it very scary. My wife is still losing and i have the opposite problem of increasing my cals. The scary part is, for the last year, the number on the scale told me how i was doing, now I need it to stay put and I'm finding it hard to be ok with that. I upped my cals by 250 and likely will have to bring it up another…

I've lost 150. Trying to figure out how to maintain this weight

I just reached "normal" two days ago, kinda weird down here

Thanks, mfp made it all possible.

1 year and 146 pounds and feeling great. Sorry for the crummy pictures, apparently I wasn't a big fan of cameras.

As much as you can, try to eat every 2 to 3 hours, even if you are not hungry. Preferably something with protein. The sugar snacks will only make you crazy hungry after the insulin rush wares off.
