  • BOILED frosting??? *googles* Wait, isn't that just Italian meringue??? Never heard of Italian meringue paired with red velvet. Cream cheese all the way! And if you bake at home, you can easily omit the food coloring and just make a "cocoa" velvet cake. Omit the cocoa powder, too, and you get "golden" velvet!
