  • Wow! Now I regret ignoring this thread for so long! I was just sort of naturally averse to a thread entitled "Panera Bread". <chuckle> The "hidden" menu items look scrumptious. It's good to know that if I am starving far from home, I could drop in Panera for a nice bite.
  • Welcome. On this group, you'll find a wide array of primal/paleo eaters with many different approaches and levels of "orthodoxy". There are bodies that range from from folks (like me) with 100+ lbs to shed to hardcore cross-fitters with <10% body fat. And it's all good! It's great to hear that you are experiencing relief…
  • OMG, Yum! Lamb is my all-time favorite protein. Will you marry me?
  • LOL! I definitely went NON-paleo on dessert last night. I had bought a huge tuxedo chocolate mousse cake for the boyz from Costco. They ate a third of it, I had one bite (it was alright; I didn't go nuts), and I carried a second third of it over to my neighbors who have been having rough times. The remaining third is…
  • About two weeks into my paleo journey, my new Tanita scale arrived. It measured my BF at 49.5%. Holy schmotz, I am 50% fat...how depressing is that??? <chuckle> The numbers have been slowly and steadily dropping down, though, so I do take note of them. I've got a ways to go before I get close to that lovely 20% BF, and…
  • Hello. I am new to Paleo (about 5 weeks), and obese with a significant amount of fat to shed, so I do take supplements. After I lose some fat, and really settle into a groove, I will probably discontinue some of these. I am *not* an expert on supplementation, so please don't take this as literal advice; it's just what I am…
  • I was hunting for good deals on coconut aminos recently too. I saw the Azure Standard, but wasn't prepared in that moment to call in to see if they had a drop in SE Michigan. I *did* however order a gallon of aminos from iherb.com for $58.00 (with free shipping on orders over $40). Had to snap up that deal...in a heartbeat!
  • UPDATE: I scored a gallon of coconut aminos for $58.10 (with free "expedited" shipping for orders over $40) from iherb.com. That oughta last me a good long while. Yay! Thanks for all the help.
  • Thanks for the tip. I'm a big amazon prime shopper, and I noticed that the deals on the aminos just didn't look so hot.
  • Meadows, I always make my own ghee, about 2 lbs of unsalted butter at a time. I store the bulk of it in the fridge or freezer...it's got a shelf-life of about 158 years. It's a messy job, but super-easy, and only takes about an hour or so. Store-bought ghee is extravagantly expensive.
  • Affirmative. I do bulletproof coffee every morning (dark roast coffee + 1 pat of Kerrygold + 1 Tbl. coconut oil + a teensy-tiny sprinkle of stevia). I buzz it all in my NutriBullet. Eggs scrambled with fresh spinach come an hour or two later.
  • Tee hee. I'm still a little high off that Kerrygold find at Costco. My regular grocery (Meijer) and local crunchy store (Better Health) *never* stock it. The ladies at the Costco check-out were chuckling at me because I was so geeked out! I felt like I was fondling little bricks of gold as I vacuum-packed that butter. My…
  • Greetings. I am brand new to MFP, to FitBit, to exercise, to eating healthy...the whole nine yards. I got my new FitBit One a few weeks ago, and just recently hooked it up with MFP. When the connection was complete, MFP threw up a screen containing a whole lot of info that seemed quite important, even though I didn't fully…
