Hi Re in TX. Water here is not so bad, I just forget to drink. Not sure how to attach a photo of my daughter's wedding here, but will work on it.

I make soup. I pierce it, then microwave it for a couple of minutes so it cuts and peels easier. My soup is not traditional. I like spice rather than sweet. I cube the squash and put it into a pot with low fat chicken broth, some black pepper and minced garlic. I cook it until really tender then use the immersion blender…

My usual smoothie contains 1 banana, flax seed, half an apple, some sort of berry and some pineapple. I add some low fat milk or almond milk, maybe kale or spinach. I also cut up and freeze my fruit as it is getting old. It makes the smoothie nice and cold. Ginger is also nice, or add a few mint leaves to brighten it up.

Hello ladies. Day after day I find myself not drinking water. Just now, almost 3 in the afternoon, I had my first drink. I need tricks to make sure I drink early and often. Thanks. Mountain Momma

Just in from my daughter's wedding weekend. What a great time. Have to get back into reality tomorrow.
-
Re in TX - thanks. Weather cleared up and should be nice for tomorrow. 62 degrees. Can't wait.

Ugh. Woke up to freezing rain this morning. So dreary. My daughter is getting married on Saturday, so today is the day I need to run and get the gowns, check in at the hall, etc. Yuk. I hate the rain. mb

Heather in UK - Sorting through a loved ones stuff is hard. I still have a small box of useless stuff of my grandmother's in my closet. Keeps me close. Re in TX - Jalapeno poppers are evil. Once you eat one, you need to have 3 or 4. You know that the calories can add up if you continue with the fried food for long, a day…

Hi Rita. In NJ we're battening down the hatches too. After a gorgeous stretch of weather, it's finally cold. This is the time I start making soups. Lots of veggies, low fat stock. It keeps me satisfied during the day. Enjoy your raspberries. I love them.

KJLaMore - Thanks for the words of encouragement. Congrats on the Cubs. We'll be routing for them too.

Good morning everyone. I have a challenging food day ahead. We have the Giants playing football at 9:30 a.m. and the Jets playing at 1:00. A couple of friends are coming over for the games. That means - bagels, quiche, french toast casserole, mimosas, then buffalo chicken dip, stromboli, pulled port sandwiches and wine.…

Hi Debbie and Lady. I'm new here too and have found everyone to be supportive and friendly. You picked the right group.

Thank you Re, Lisa and Penny. I have a smaller than normal plate, which I can use. I usually put out the food on the table (easy to take more), but I am going to take a portion and leave the rest on the stove. Hubby can get his own seconds if he likes. See you later.

Re in TX - Thanks for the welcome. I have been racking my brain since yesterday thinking of a little change I can make. I love the idea. What small changes have helped you? A problem I have had in the past, which I have taken up again now that my grandchildren are around, is finishing their food. I think I can stop this,…

Hi all. I've been looking for a group to join. It's been tough. There are a lot of nasty people on this site. Can't find anything nasty here, so I'll give it a try. I live in NJ. I'm 57 years old, married mother of 3, with 2 grandchildren. My daughter is getting married next week and I have been trying to lose some weight…

My opinion is my opinion, thus not wrong. Many, many articles about what chemicals do to your body, possible effects on the immune system, cancer links, weight gain, fatigue, etc. If you don't believe it, fine.
-
What, that our bodies are not meant to digest chemicals?

I bought a tiny velcro pouch on Amazon to attach to my undergarment during the summer so I don't get a tan line. I have a regular FitBit.
-
NO BASHING PLEASE - I drink SodaStream soda because I can adjust the amount of flavor added. I do not like regular soda because it seems thick and heavy. My preference is diet soda. That being said, there seem to be many more neurological problems through the decades as more and more chemical additives have been added to…

I just started a private group - Starting over, again. Please join and we can do this together.

Count me in. Hopefully, we can help each other.

I would eat some sort of protein, of your choice, and lots of broccoli or lettuce. Chicken is always a good choice. Refried beans are filling.

Metabolism is a thing. Maybe not her problem, but it is a thing.
-
Yes metabolism runs all the time, slow or fast. Certain exercises raise your metabolism, and certain foods do too. Unless you know what combination of foods she is eating and what exercise she is doing, you can't be certain if her metabolism is slow or fast. Fast will burn more calories. There are obviously many things…
-
It could, depending upon what you eat. The daily allotment of balanced calories is there to keep your body running as best as it can. If your 200 calories either way are all protein or all fat or all carbs, that may make a difference. I would try to balance out what you are eating so its somewhat consistent each day.

Are you mixing with diet soda or club soda? If not, try that with a twist. Plan your meals carefully that day and the next. Eat filling foods with lots of fruits and veggies all day. Chicken or fish is a good choice for dinner, once again with veggies.
