As far as polos and t-shirts, I haven't found anything that fits me better than my Kenneth Cole shirts. And the jeans are incredible too. Love me some KC.

Thinks she actually has unicorns in her back yard.

Again, they are supposed to be a lie. :) The ones that I have on my phone would straighten Richard Simmons' hair. Elliot Spitzer is a piker.

She pees in every swimming pool she ever goes into.

Yeah. Good luck with that. And maybe you can find the golden fleece and the fountain of youth while you are busy for looking for mythical things.

This thread has been up for a couple of hours and no kitten gifs? Really?

I just threw up in my mouth a little bit. Okay, a lot. And over my shoes, the floor, the dog ... However, it is interesting to note that:

Won the $400 million dollar powerball this week and wants to share it with all of us and will post her home phone number for us to call this afternoon.

As to your original question though, that is pretty much what I did: diet and treadmill with a couple of days of weight training. A lot of my weight training in the beginning was focused on rehabbing my new knee which is, as of today, 363 days old. When I started in January I had just been released from physical therapy,…

So you're eating 1,200 calories a day and exercising 1800-2500 calories a day? And that seems healthy to you? What do you think your body is going to use to fuel itself? You know -- your basic functions -- brain, respiration, all the other fun filled things your body has to do just to survive. Your metabolism WILL slow…

Do the math. If you lose 10 pounds at 1200 calories, but your maintenance is 1400, that means you have a 200 calorie a day deficit. At 3500 calories/pound, that is 35,000 calories. At 200 calories per day, it would take you 175 days or just short of 6 months to lose those 10 pounds. In the end, it's all math.

Deeboy -- as one of your oldest friends here (emphasis on the world OLD), my friends list is one of the great surprises and enticements of being here for me. Having friends on 5 continents, in a dozen countries. Male/female, young/old, gay./straight. It doesn't make a damned bit of difference. Maybe it's because I'm the…

So let me understand? You are eating 600 calories a day 5 days a week and averaging about 2875 calories a day on the weekends (cause that is what it would take to 1250 calories/day). 5 days a week you eat 600 calories a day, plus you do an hour exercise DVD and 30 minutes of hula hoop and now you are starting to power walk…

I'm sorry, but as a general rule, asking your doctor about what is healthy for you nutritionally makes about as much sense as asking him who you should have in your fantasy football team. Both are outside of their area of expertise. Nutritionally is only tangentially covered in medical school and in board tests even now.…

Doctors don't know jack *kitten* about nutrition. If they want info, they consult a registered dietician. They don't study it in med school at all and if they do, it is for a few hours in the entire 4 years. It isn't covered on board tests or board reviews or continuing medical education classes. You would get far better…

Oh, smack. Love it.

What most doctors know about nutrition equals about as much as much auto mechanics know about brain surgery -- not much. It has only started to be covered in medical schools, and barely at that, in the last few years. And for the vast majority of doctors in practice today, it was not covered in medical schools at all or in…

If it's under 200 calories, it's a McDonald's ice cream cone. If it's between 300-400 calories, I'll go for the McDonald's Hot Fudge Sundae. And surprisingly, they aren't too bad on macros, either.

I think the list should be closed. Those are the two winners.

The song that represents my life now and always: from the musical Jekyll and Hyde: Bring on the Men.

Well I am glad to have accepted your FR. Welcome to my rather eclectic friends list. Pay attention to them, you'll learn a lot from them. I think I have the most diverse and amazing group of friends on MFP. Covering 5 continents, and a dozen or more countries. Male/female, young/old, gay/straight, losing weight/bulking,…

Well if you look at my profile and are interested, feel free to send me a FR. I'm always open to more friends. Fortunately, I've been blessed with some of the most amazing friends from around the world. My FL is from people from 5 continents and at least a dozen countries. My friends are about as diverse as you can get:…

I was thinking the same thing. I"m about half an inch shorter, 17 pounds lighter and 16 years older and just increased my daily calories to 2450 to stop losing more. But I agree, HIIT is the way to go. And keep lifting.

Chest to waist measurement is just as indicative. Waist size is another. Fortunately my employer doesn't use such flawed tools for discounts for insurance purposes. They calculate them and offer counseling, but the counselor looked at my numbers and laughed. Using one flawed number to offer discounts is simply wrong in my…

Hi Kevin -- sorry for the little rant here, but I came across your post. Is this BMI discount through your employer's insurance? Has anyone told them and the insurer that is a really stupid idea because the BMI is a crude and, to my way of thinking, useless tool. There is not a competitive bodybuilder in the history of…

How about people way into their 50's (and pushing their 60's). Can they join the cool kids too? Looks like you all are having a great time here.

Hello Ken. Welcome to MFP. Yes, this is a great site and the support from the community can be a big help in achieving your goal. I'm just few years your junior, and have a few titanium parts as well, so I know if I can do it, you can too. I've been very lucky to have the most amazing friends here from around the world.…

I guess the first question is what is your goal -- what are you trying to get to? But without even that info, i can say, there is no way I would think that 1200 is appropriate for you. And what are you doing for exercise? A bit more info is needed.
