I'm no expert, but I've had a FitBit One for a few months so hopefully my experience can help. Fitbit estimates your BMR in its calculations, so the 300 calories you've burned by the time you wake up are just calories you burn for simply existing. I think they include this in the calculations so you can have the most…

Make sure she's getting plenty of protein. Also, does she eat meat substitutes? Some aren't so great (veggie burgers) but I've bought sausage, ground beef, etc. and thrown them in recipes and my meat-eating friends can't even tell it's not real. That might help.

I started at 135 and set a goal for 125, but then my body slowly kept losing until I leveled out around 119-121. I have a small frame and feel like this is good for me. I do feel a bit "squishy" though so I want to focus more on strength training.

Agreed, Panera has great salads.

RA = 24 MA = 25 Oh...okay.

Also, there's no guarantee you'd see a loss on the scales each week regardless of how "perfectly" you ate. It just doesn't work like that.

5'6 and now maintaining at 119-120. Started at 135. When I was consistently losing I averaged around 1400-1700 with some splurge days.

That she loves her husband!

Another option you can try is searching for "(food) grams" in the database, e.g. "Strawberry grams" and then user-created options using grams may be more likely to pop up.

Walking, no, as fitbit is designed to keep track of that. I'm not sure about the elliptical. It's similar but... What I would do, though, is log your non-walking exercise and make sure you note your starting time. That way fitbit will adjust and help prevent the double-dip. I'd do that for exercise except walking/running.

Eh, I doubt it'd really help you lose weight. Perhaps you'd bloat less and drop some water weight though. If you like it, drink it. If you want to reduce the amount you drink, try drinking a bottle of water between each can. Force yourself to finish up the water before you open a new one. Even if you don't cut down…

Lately I've been spending a bit of my extra money on building up my own home "gym" (i.e. weights, bench, etc.) Also bought a kitten last week, so...toys for him. Usually, I save for vacations. I went to Thailand/Cambodia/Vietnam in July-August. I'm looking to maybe adding China to the itinerary for next summer.

Why would you lower your calories? You've lost four pounds in the last two weeks -- that's great!
-
Ooh, I bought a FitBit recently. I'll try this! I'll set a personal goal of roughly 12k/day to equal 372,000 for the month. This will be a challenge for me as my work schedule is changing soon, and that's when I get a lot of my steps in. 10/01 - 13,491 10/02 - 13,530 10/03 - 10,205 10/04 - 13,629 _______________________…

That includes your BMR.

I find that most of the vegetarian options aren't very high in protein -- at least, not equatable to what I could make for myself with the same number of calories (or at the same price). So, I tend to avoid them most of the time as they don't contribute to my goals. That being said, if I'm in a particular hurry -- or just…

You do realize that the "weight" you gain after you splurge is likely mostly water weight? Unless you're consuming 3500+ calories above maintenance on your cheat day, you're not actually gaining those pounds back. It's just water retention. Give it a few days and it'll disappear again.

Your numbers Obesity Index 19bmi National Below average You have a lower BMI than 92% of females aged 15-29 in your country Global Below average You have a lower BMI than 72% of females aged 15-29 in the world Did you know? That's what I've always done. Some people like seeing the natural fluctuations to remind them that weight loss is not linear, but I'm content with just seeing a general downward trend. I'd consider it more like trickery to log up and down the 1/2 lb I'm fluctuating that week. My friends would just keep seeing "HumAlong has…
-
No, because I find that it generally evens out throughout the course of the week -- e.g. a quick look at my numbers for the past week have me eating anywhere from 1300-2100. Averaged out over the course of seven days has me at ~1800 per day. If you're still losing weight, you might need to make a conscious effort to eat…
-
I checked your diary, and you're talking about eating ~60g instead of 45g. There shouldn't be any problems with that (bar specific health issues or doctor ordered protein limits) -- I try to eat 100-120g day personally. Protein is good for you! Your body needs it to recover, it keeps you full, it gives you energy. The more…

Dominos...a white sauce pan pizza, 2,650 calories of pure delicious unhealthiness and approx ~800 cals over maintenance. Like, I literally order a pizza and eat only that spread throughout the entire day. I can't say no to pizza; I hate "rationing" it, so I figure...when I want it, I'll just go all out and call it a day.…

Feel free to add me! I'm pretty cool; I log daily and know how to use semicolons! Although I must admit -- my diary isn't exactly "clean" so some might view it as a trigger (lol), but if you want a cool new friend to chat with, I can try!

I don't have kids yet (sorry) but I fully intend on focusing on various types of enrichment more-so than strictly college savings. It's just not me, nor my lifestyle. I traveled as a kid. Some of my first memories are of having tea parties in ancient, abandoned castles in Spain. Then, my parents had some money issues and I…
