  • Maple Grove Farms Sugar Free Raspberry Vinaigrette -- 2 tbsp = 5 calories of deliciousness.
  • What is your calorie goal? If it's not too low for you, you need to experiment to find different foods that fit your macros and calorie goals better.
  • I'm no guru like some of the people around here, but I would recommend that you start by creating a caloric deficit and see if that works for you. If not, experiment with limiting carbs, fats, etc. but frankly I don't pay much attention to my macros (except protein); I often go over my carbs and I lost 15 lbs in ~4 months…
  • I'm from Ohio (USA), I teach ESL (English as a Second Language -- I teach English to students from China, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, etc.), and I'm 24!
  • I probably wouldn't. The nice think about Zombies 5k is that a lot of it is free structured -- you aren't required to run that whole 7 minutes, it's free-form. Run and walk as you need. As you said, you want to hear the story. So do what you want :) Can't imagine it'd hurt you. If you struggle in Week 7, maybe you could…
  • That's up to you. Some people find it easier to log from 12AM-12AM...I personally log from when I wake up to when I go to bed. (i.e. it's 12:35 AM on 09/07 now, but I'd still log anything on 09/06 since I haven't gone to bed yet.)
  • Even if you asked for it, they could've phrased their comments more nicely. Simply saying "your mid-section and rear are unattractive to me" would've sufficed. Not OK in my opinion.
  • Nice! That's a great feeling. I was so proud of myself when I got through the 20 minute day. I started C25k and got up until my 30 minute run, but then I went on vacation for a month and couldn't run in 100 degree weather + humidity. Then I came home and was lagging and felt like all my progress was wasted :( But a few…
  • My body is pretty happy to float around 121-122 without much effort. Right now my comfort zone extends to about 125 -- if I'm in the upper range for too long I'll take that as a hint that something's awry. I'm planning on starting a lifting program soon, though, so my "range" will likely change and focus more on…
  • Get it! I have it, and it's tons of fun. I don't always use it, but it's entertaining when I want to mix things up a little.
  • At 5'6" and 121 pounds, I'm thin but definitely not tooooo thin. I'm 24 and have a small frame, so it works for me. I wouldn't mind dropping down to 115-117 but I'm not actively trying for that. If it happens, it happens!
  • First...I wouldn't consider moving until you have ~6 months of expenses saved up. Second...if you can stay at home even longer, do it. I know parents can be a pain, but seriously most of the time that's nothing in comparison to the stress and problems you'll deal with once you're on your own. I'm 23 and planning to move…
  • I don't know if I've EVER had brussels sprouts honestly. My mom doesn't like them and never made them when I was a kid, and I've felt no need to go out of my way to acquire some ^^
  • It's likely that you're not eating enough. Don't think of 1510 as your daily "allowance", think of it as your goal. You should be able to eat approximately that amount (+ some exercise calories) and lose weight. I know it seems counter-intuitive to eat more to lose weight, but it does work for many people. You need to fuel…
  • I guess the question here should be, "How accurate do you want your calorie burns?" If you want them as accurate as possible, go for the chest strap. No question. If you're more concerned with getting heart rate readings and not too concerned with how many calories you burn, maybe a watch would work for you. But I'd feel…
  • I first started exercising/eating healthy a little while before I studied in Germany (for 3 months) and tried to keep it up there, but gave up logging when I was tempted by bakeries on every corner, delicious food, etc. and just had fun because I knew I only had a limited time there. But all the walking I was doing kept me…
  • I'm going to Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia next month! Excited!! I'd say best place for a vacation is Germany, although my opinion is biased as I studied there for a few months last year so it's like a second home to me <3
  • Just curious, but what else would you weigh yourself on? :) Just the way you capitalized "SCALE" makes it seem like you could weigh yourself on something else... :P Anyway, I usually weigh every day/every other day, in the morning right after I've woken up. But your idea works too -- if it keeps you from going crazy. I…
  • Very normal. Sometimes the morning after a hard workout I will gain some and it'll stay there for a few days, but then it'll drop back down (and then some).
  • I want to be able to run for 30 minutes and/or 5k distance by July 1st. I started week 6 of C25k today, after taking two weeks off. It was rough but I should be OK once I get back into the swing of things ^^
  • I'll give this a shot!
  • Sometimes at Walmart, sporting goods store, etc.
  • Get a mini can of pepper spray?
  • It very rarely makes me gain, I actually might lose a pound or so. But I wouldn't be surprised if you fluctuated ~5 lbs or more, a body can do that in a single day really. If you think you've been good and haven't eaten thousands of calories in excess, just ignore the number and weigh again next week!
  • *I haven't read everything so just ignore me if this has already been said* If a girl weighing 120 at 5'5" came here saying she wanted to join this website to help herself become more physically active, be more aware of her food intake, make better choices, etc. everyone would welcome her for trying to improve her life.…
  • I agree with the idea that you're doing the running intervals too fast. I read somewhere, "If you can go slower, then go slower." -- try it. Slow and steady wins the race! Seriously -- don't worry about speed. Worry about endurance right now, because speed comes more naturally later. If I remember correctly, W1 D2-D3 are…
  • Up to you. Personally, I only count water. As with many things in life, experiment and see what works best for you. There's no clear-cut 100% perfect answer for every human on this planet.
  • But how many times is he going to have to "break up" with you before you both realize something just isn't right? I'm not trying to be mean, but if this is forming a pattern then you really need to look at what's causing the issue and try to fix that. I'm guessing if he was having these thoughts in January, you found a…
  • You deserve someone who knows they want you. My ex and I yo-yo'ed back and forth for a while before we actually started dating because he wasn't sure what he wanted. It was emotional hell. But he was my first love and I thought it was ~meant to be~ and special. No. It was great while it lasted, but I've grown up and can…
  • You don't have to lose everything you've worked so hard for! It's just a set back. And that's life -- it's full of twists and turns. We never know where we're going to end up tomorrow. Just try to stay positive. I know you can't walk, but you don't have to give up exercise completely -- try some seated moves. Air punches…
